I just came back from test driving the CX5 GT with the turbo engine. My wife and I agree upon this car (non-turbo, or maybe the Kuro), but she was concerned about no digital speed readout. I'm old school with analog (its like reading a clock, you train your eyes), and not needing the backup cam. The infotainment system is something I would need to get use to, having a car that predates this as a standard by at least 3 years.
Understandable, its easier to read a digital readout at a glance. On the other hand, one thing I liked about analogue dials was that it wouldn’t be so jumpy such as between 99 and 100 km/h, even on cruise control it can just click back and forth constantly vs the smooth motion of a dial.
Good job with one exception. I just got my 2020 Mazda 3 gx and have accidentally hit the voice command button twice. But I don't know what commands it recognizes or what options I have. I've watched 4 of these long videos, but no one even mentions voice commands. The only voice command videos I can find are 2 years old.
This confirms for me that you can disable that radar trash on the Cruise Control. Am I the only person on the planet who likes his cruise control as dumb as they can get? I don't want my CC interfering with MY driving. Very helpful! Thanks!

Since moving to Japan from Canada I have bought/owned four Mazda's and have yet to be disappointed with any of the features. I cannot get an English version for the Navigation operation but can get by as my wife is Japanese. I cannot find the outside temperature on my recent purchase of the 2021 Mazda CX 8? Very informative video. Just purchased a 2020 CX 5 GT AWD w/premium package. Can't figure out how to get the middle cluster configuration on your video. I like the digital speedometer instead of analog speedometer.
The dash setup shown in this video is exclusive to the 2019 and later Mazda3 and the CX-30. Regretfully there isn’t a way to get the CX-5 cluster to look like this.

This really is unfortunate considering I just purchased the CX5 GT AWD as well and wanted the digital speedometer... I didn’t want to spend the extra money on the HUD and I wasn’t a fan of the size of the CX-30. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE the CX-5, but do you think there can ever be updates done to change this in the future? (Sorry if that’s a stupid question, I’m not too knowledgeable on this stuff 😅)
I have a CX-30 as well and my LKA has never made the lines bold at all. The lane departure warning works well, but LKA has never automatically kept me in a lane.

This’s very helpful but I still can’t figure how to change KG to miles since I’m in the states, it’s really hard to do the math in head whenever you see the speed limit on the street that says 40mph or whatever. Can you please show us how to change that. Thank you in advance sir

I've got a 2021 UK registered Mazda3, and for some reason the 'Temperature' option is missing from my System Settings, meaning I can't change the temp display from c to f. Not a big deal obviously but it's bugging me that I can't do it!
Now I do have to ask which model you saw the back up camera in. The new one that they introduced on the 2019 Mazda3 which is also in the CX-30 looks 10 fold better than the ones on the older models and 100 fold better than the around view camera on the CX-5 and CX-9.

I'm going to assume that when the CX-5 gets updated to this new styling it will get the much better back up camera. The new ones look night and day better so I am sure you will be happy with it.
The miles to empty and the avg miles per gallon driven indicators that are beside the speedometer have disappeared from my display. I have tried the info button. The dealership I took it to has no idea. Any suggestions on how to get it back on my dash?

If it’s still not seeing it I would take the vehicle in to the dealership. Could be something as simple as a fuse being loose or the OS needing and update. I’ve seen both cause this issue.

So just to make sure I am clear, you are trying to hook up the Bluetooth in your car with your phone. The phone is not seeing your car when you select to connect a new device? I just want to make sure I am not missing anything.
On delivery 2 phones connected to Mazda Connect “Bluetooth”. Later my phone had Bluetooth turned off (Apple power saving turns Bluetooth off). When tuned on again, my phone could see Mazda but would not connect. In frustration I removed my phone from Mazda connect and “forget this network’ on iphone, hoping to reconnect again. My phone now doesn’t see Mazda, and trying to connect another Bluetooth device using Mazda Connect only wants to remove other phone.
So do me a favor and start from a clean slate. Make sure the phone forget the car and remove all of the phones listed in the mazda blue tooth system. From there make sure your blue tooth is on on your phone and then select “connect new device” on the car. From there you will possibly see Mazda pop up on your phone but don’t press anything. Look at the screen in your car, all available blue tooth devices should pop up. Select your phone. Let me know what happens after that.

I assume as soon as it gets the update that the Mazda3 got that it will. Also you can have the digital speedometer if you have a heads up display in the vehicle.
Do you know how can I adjust the warming period when you start the car remotely from the Mazda app? I have the CX 30 select. It seems to me that the running time is not enough to warm up the car.
Is anyone else getting a line through your front cluster where your mph gauges are ? And by “line” I mean like pixels are not right and it leaves a line. It does go away but it’s super annoying, not sure if anyone else had that issue
Basically it pulls your average fuel economy which updates all the time and figures your miles till empty then. It updates pretty much every few seconds as you drive.
This is the worst entertainment system I've ever seen. And it's the most important part of the car to me. All I want to do is change the radio from AM to FM and back again and be able to adjust the volume. This is way too complicated and an utter distracting waste of time. As the owner of an older Mazda looking to get a new one, this is seriously making me rethink my choice, although I love the car. Give me back what used to be there - a simple radio with volume and station controls on the steering wheel. This is horrible. Is there any way to get the old kind installed? I'd actually be willing to pay extra to get this monstrosity taken out and the old one reinstalled. Shame on Mazda. An awful, awful, awful "upgrade."

How do you remove a radio station from the "favorites"? No problem putting one in - can't figure out how to delete it.
Select the station then press the commander knob down it should give the option to delete it.

Regretfully there is no ability to do that. Mazda has not been very friendly towards customization like that.
Why doesn't the 2020 CX-5 have a digital speedometer!! The digits are so much easier to read as opposed to the dial

It does require the wire. Apple has a security pass through in the hub that it plugs into and that’s why the cable is required.

What you will have to do is connect your charging cable to the vehicle. CarPlay only works via a corded connection.

The only 2020 models that have this are the Mazda3 and the CX-30. No other model got this update. Maybe 2021!
