love to Boa and power to her, specially because (and i hate bring this topic but it has to be adress) she and her sister are probably survivor also of SA. in the manga is a little more hinted but obviusly neve fully stated because this is a shonen manga but under that ligth you can ever understand more her hate for men. if you belive if better to ignore that implication to her backstory is ok, but as someone who expirience terrible situation with SA i love to see some strong and beautiful represented in anime of all places

This is why One Piece has a very good story development. The Arlong Pirate, who appeared at the beginning of the story, still has an important place hundreds of episodes later. Oda didnt go into details since its a shounen meant for those under 17 , but if you read between the lines you can come to conclusions about what kind of treatment the slaves received under the celestial dragons , onepiece actually is really dark .

There was something about Hancock that I liked from the start but after her backstory, I understood her better.
It's awful to consider how dark it really is. Just have to consider their ages when they were abducted and the fruits they were forced to eat. Those are dots that hopefully a kid wouldn't be able to connect. It does explain why Hancock really despises men though. Can't say I blame her.
Luffy doesn't need to know someone's backstory to know they're hurting. But apparently Hancock needed to trauma dump to someone who would listen without judgment and Luffy is that person.
Isn't it something how, over 400 episodes later, Oda links something that happened before we even got to the Grand Line.

Boa Hancock’s backstory was one of the most shocking part, just shows one piece is no longer your average anime of just fighting, but a fight of survival, the seeker of freedom and most importantly how the dark side of the world will come to light… you guys are gonna see more Fkd up shxt as the story goes on, because it’s almost accurate to real life situations 👁️

Even in her Anaconda Form, Boa Sandersonia is so beautiful, and man Luffy did them a solid, man seems maybe the princess has garnered something for the monkey kid? I think One Piece always had dark elements, we're just being exposed to them more.
