the imp and skizz podcast episode with etho showed his contribution to the hermits in a huge way, while joel is an artist in terms of builds and music, skizz in an artist in terms of production and having a laugh. i don't even watch him but i get excited whenever i see him on someone else's video.
This is making me realize how much I enjoy being a viewer or watcher. It's odd, but comforting, the concept of watching funny block people interact in a safe community. :)
Grian definedly was the best addition to Hermitcraft ever, he has kept it alive and evolved to a new level. I got watching hermitcraft due to Grian in season 6 and watched it since
The only thing I disagree with is the idea that these evolutions are designed with content in mind. I think the secret sauce to hermitcraft has always been genuine fun, and these evolutions were made to make it more fun for the hermits and the content follows. Imagine adding proxchat to an smp with your best friends, or a mail system, or a way to make owning and using shops not suck, it just seems like they cut out the annoying boring stuff and are enjoying the server that much more for it
You mentioned the Permits and honestly it kinda works. The one thing I think could be better would very much be that there should be multiple of a permit so then some competition can be present. Maybe even add a hard cap on the amount of permits a Hermit can have (lol rhyme). That way you not only have to have competition for diamond prices, but they compete for best user experience. Like how Etho made Frogger in minecraft or Impulse made Go Touch Grass. The shopping experience is way better than the Barge shop. I'd probably liken the Barge to a Costco (all that you need under one roof) and the newer shops to more specialized shops with a priority on making it an experience you want to do again.
Hey just so you know, if you want a version of the Hermitcraft banner like at 5:55 without you know who, the Hermitcraft Wiki has the updated one without the members who left.
What the permits do is pre-load a point of (playful) drama and semi-required building projects. That's been really great. Maybe they also help keep supplies of resources up, but I'm less sure about that. I also like that there's also a black market emerging. Whether they bring them back for later seasons or not, I don't really care. As long as they keep introducing gimmicks to encourage new interactions and builds.

tbf its the holiday season and most of them are working on different series like the current life series season going on, they’ll eventually pick up the pace on hermitcraft!
This season is definitely pretty awesome! I'd suggest waiting a couple of weeks though! A lot of hermits are currently working on the life series and when it's over and they all come back I'm pretty sure it's going to be even more awesome!
I personally think the shop permits are one of the worst additions to Hermitcraft. It was interesting at first, but I think the shop related videos are some of my least favorite moments in this season.
I don't feel this way about the shop episodes, but I agree overall about the shopping district this season. The hermits would eventually upgrade their shops to look better anyways, but we wouldn't have all the monopolies we have currently and the issues stemming from them :/ Despite almost only watching hermits from the Permit authorities or those supporting them, I'm leaning more and more in the No Poe direction. It's obviously a setup for a war or part of a storyline, but it just proved that the permit idea ends up being a downgrade more than an upgrade :/

love your videos but can you stop punching me through the video. just let your character stand there. you want to be more animated and it is difficult via a Minecraft character but the punching and jerky movement really annoys me. Might just be me though. Love the rest of it.
