Great video! I can see many people have minor critiques, I don't mean to join that bandwagon, this is a really good summary/overview of Etho's timeline on youtube. But I would like to point out that the gap between hermitcraft seasons and LP episodes around 8:50 wasn't as gloomy and empty as you might think. Etho was very open about his burnout with the vanilla game, and instead focused a lot on his modded series for more content. He had his original modded LP, sky factory, project ozone, R.A.D. and a ton more like custom maps with Team Canada. He also branched into other games such as Terraria and ARK. This was actually a great alternative for him because it gave him new tools and ideas to explore; igniting creativity in both Minecraft and other games. The downfall of mindcrack was messy, there was a lot of drama around the public server and ownership of it, and the minigames on it; this bled into the content creation side of things with contracts and ideas of producing merch. Etho not wanting to deal with it all, focused on his modded series, and eventually faded out of mindcrack, finally anouncing it on a secret live stream in his modded world. This was right around the EULA changes and microsoft acquisition. That's when Etho kept testing the waters with early hermitcraft seasons but ultimately his burnout with the vanilla game pushed him to focus more on modded. Leading to the gap in LP episodes and hermitcraft seasons.
I would like to point that this a really great video! and one of the few attempts to make a proper timeline, so I really do appreciate you putting all this work into it, it's better than what I could've done!

@@williamchoi8676 I meant good summary as in a glimpse of Etho. You are correct about the inaccuracies, and many people have pointed them out. Etho, Minecraft muse (spumwack when he joined hermit craft), and Monkey farms (who i think went on to make music) started me on minecraft youtube videos. watched syndicate project for a while and captain sparkles but i returned to etho for his modded minecraft skyblock forever ago.
I would like to point that this a really great video! and one of the few attempts to make a proper timeline, so I really do appreciate you putting all this work into it, it's better than what I could've done!
i wouldn't say good summary, it has multiple inaccuracies and statements that are not true. he even spelled his name wrong in first seconds of the vid, like did he even do any editing at all. as an Etho fans this vid hurts my brain. there's also misinformation everywhere in the vid. i understand a couple of mistakes but i don't think he really did any fact checking at all.
@@williamchoi8676 I meant good summary as in a glimpse of Etho. You are correct about the inaccuracies, and many people have pointed them out. I wanted to share my insight about the bit I mentioned without restating what others have already.
I said it was a great video and good summary because an attempt was made and I don't think any of the misinformation was particularly harmful, just not well researched or fact checked. I just don't want to discourge this creator, since all of the errors and issues with this video have been loudly pointed out in the comments. But you are right and I do agree.
Etho is your favorite minecraft youtuber’s favorite minecraft youtuber’s favorite minecraft youtuber’s favorite minecraft youtuber’s favorite minecraft youtuber’s favorite minecraft youtuber
Etho, Minecraft muse (spumwack when he joined hermit craft), and Monkey farms (who i think went on to make music) started me on minecraft youtube videos. watched syndicate project for a while and captain sparkles but i returned to etho for his modded minecraft skyblock forever ago. Paperbatvg and Slyfoxhound where staples for me up until pbat left the platform. Pbat and Sly mostly did modded minecraft, aether mod, pixelmon, and Minecraft the Movie. and dont forget the other OG, Yogscast! from surviving the first night to jaffa factories. Duncan, Simon and Lewis, and even Rythian i would watch weekly uploads of their tekkit letsplay. most of them stopped playing minecraft or lost my attention far before that, but not Etho.
Ethoslab was not the first. If anything - Paulsouresjr posted the first Minecraft How To Videos, which googles is also saying he was considered the first Minecraft TH-camr
8:15 I think you're consistently mistaking VintageBeef and Pauseunpause avarars there.
Love your editing! Everything is so clean
Ethoslab was not the first. If anything - Paulsouresjr posted the first Minecraft How To Videos, which googles is also saying he was considered the first Minecraft youthbef
You kind of skipped over a pretty major part of the history with Etho leaving MindCrack. It wasn't just that it got less popular and he wanted to leave because of numbers or whatever. MindCrack was more popular than ever and the admin wanted to turn it corporate to cash in on all of the numbers and play the TH-cam game, so Etho and others left... Quite literally the opposite of what you said...
you forgot about CaptainSparklez and Seannaners
their video came out in august before EthoLabs ever posted
Don't forget about good old paulsoaresjr. Etho also mentioned that he was inspired to create Minecraft videos from watching X's Adventure in Minecraft
Etho is the true pro gamer
Also what about pixelmon
AYO? ETHO WAS ON DSMP WHY DIDI MISS THAT???
ethoslab my goat
i was born the same year he posted his first minecraft video what 💀
(im 14 i swear im old enough to use the internet 😭)
@@ChaosEnthusiast oh my god
@@Oplgrampa id imagine its pretty weird to think that people born in 2010 are 14 now based off what people are telling me haha
I found many mc lets plays/videos from before that first video of ethoslab
Title makes no sense. I’m gonna quote another guy in this comment section and say “A brief story of Ethoslab” would have been better
Your title transition thing said Etholabs, not Ethoslab
18 seconds in, and you've written 'Etholabs' instead of 'Ethoslab'...
0:17 the text says "Etholabs" not ethoslab
I dont think you got beef and pause right once in the whole video
I only found etho last year through the life series and was confused as to why he was a big deal... Needless to say, ive figured out since then XD
If you haven't seen it. There is one Etho LP special episode. He opens the door by the large You've Been Etho'd Statue. *Its a particularly good episode. A love letter to us nerds watching at home!*
What software do you edit your videos with?
Not the first Minecraft TH-camr, but the third but certainly not least. The first is Paulsoaresjr :)
Think he meant first red stone creator
This Video isn't well researched. Some Big Mistakes:
8:14 you said "Vintage Beef" while PauseUnpause comes on Screen. Pause wasn't part of the NHO. He wasn't in Hermitcraft.
4:47 "from here he also became close with DocM" Etho and Doc have been friends before MindCrack.
Evidence 1: (Etho Old PVP) th-cam.com/video/dn-tWI2QCIk/w-d-xo.html
Evidence 2: (Doc and Etho old Mindcrack) th-cam.com/video/IMefsBxNBYI/w-d-xo.html
Evidence 3: (Doc and Etho Hermitcraft) th-cam.com/video/WK_cmUnIOqY/w-d-xo.html
in the Third Video I linked, no more than a Minuet and thirty seconds in does It alone show the deep history Etho has had in Minecraft. The MONUMENTAL task of trying to make a history Video for Etho is Impossible.
but we would all love to see it.
Thank you for making a video of our Favorite Creator.
Nice Video 😊
1:40 You said that hier has the longest Minecraft series but @Gronkh is a German lets player and he has an Minecraft series with over 1000 Parts. He is one of the largest German lets player
No mention of GuudeBoulderfist who started Mindcrack. Shame.
Guude is literally the reason we have anything like Hermitcraft and other brands now. Guude cemented the genre of Minecraft TH-cam SMP. Say what you want about the man, but I think he deserves respect for having such an impactful role in shaping pop culture.
you keep using Pause's icon for beef lol
ETHO. . . SLAB
oh etho
Etho isn’t Minecraft’s first content creators😂😂😂
>doesn’t provide a single example
Thanks man
Go to Imp & Skizz podcast they did with Etho and Etho talks about other Minecraft TH-camrs he used to watch.
Etho and many other OGs cite Coe's Quest as the reason they started their own LPs
Pretty sure he said first red stone player
@@Navisteria “what version do you play on? Bedrock or Java?”
“Redstone.”
The quality of the video just keep on getting better
0:17 “etholabs”
CaptainSparklez predates EthosLab by a few months (August 2010: th-cam.com/video/SQxlWDK6mLo/w-d-xo.html), but I’m not sure either are the first Minecraft TH-camrs (I’d need to look more into it to know for sure). Also, how is “his first ever video dropping way back in December 2010” but his first redstone video posted in November 2010? 0:10
Etholabs
0:17 The SPELLING pls I beg.
0:17 EthoLabs???
Remember me when you’re famous
3:57 you know what else is massive?
