      You're right. They win championships back to back beating arguably the greatest driver in the process and then go on to race for the most iconic teams earning respect from everyone around them.

      Imsa is a cross of open and closed cockpits cars. Closed like nascar but chassis engine closer to f1

    I am so glad he wanted to do Dakar. I have this dream of seeing him in the Dakar. And with his association with Toyota Gazoo Racing, we could see him some day in those Hiluxes with Nasser Al-Attiyah and Gineal de Villiers. And good to see that he has great respect for NASCAR and admits that he probably wouldn't be up to it.

    I love it when he says that an F1 car doesn't have that kind of reliability. His F1 car doesn't have enough reliability to finish two hours!

      @@sp33dyjames40 Fernando's no.8 won the overall and LMP category at LeMans. Stunning night driving by Alonso at LeMans. Shows how much he can do with a good car. All he has left is Indy 500 to get the triple crown. Also he's going back to do Daytona. I assume as a one-off drive.

      Yes, there is definitely misconception that because of Nascars humble beginnings that it doesn't take as much skill. Fernando just set that straight!
      Not a better skill set, just different.
      Like the racing itself. I appreciate them both.

      No top level racing is easy unless you have experience in it. Top drivers know they could do it but not without a lot of seat time

    Americans are not stupid. They know what a beast fernando is behind a steering wheel and he has achieved great respect from drivers, the american racing community and racing fans. Too sad how people treat him in Europe.

      He had a podium in his 3rd rally. It was the Al Ula-Neom Cross-Country Rally. He also did Dakar and finished 13th overall. Alonso barrel rolled his car off a huge dune and continued driving. It was insane. He'll be back again.

      He's referring to his F1 contract. In 2017, F1 ran 20 races. In 2018, there's 21 races. This is a 1 of 1 race for Alonso, like Indy.

    My 1 and only visit to Indy ( 2000 F1) I was underwhelmed by what I saw from the parking lot. It's nowhere near as nice as what they just showed of the outside of Daytona Speedway stadium.

    I still believe Fernando is the second most gifted driver in F1 behind Lewis. Hopefully the new engine in the McLaren this year will be worthy of his talent.

      I think he is actually more technically skilled than Lewis as for example he does not ever commits mistakes while under pressure but i don't see him winning a 3rd championship since theres also Vettel and Verstappen in the mix.

      MLCAgaming Lewis pushes to the bleeding edge of the cars capabilities which is why you will see more errors. He finds the limit. Just look at the season they were trammates at McLaren. Lewis dominated Fernando in an identical car. Fernando is great, but I disagree with the notion that he is more skilled than Lewis. Safer maybe, but that's not the way to win.
