- 'Disgusted': Has Prince Harry damaged relations with his closest friends? | Palace Confidential. Prince Harry's absence from the wedding of one of his closest friends reflects the ‘sad situation’ Harry finds himself in when it comes to those formerly closest to him. That’s the view of the Daily Mail’s Diary Editor Richard Eden, who broke the story.
‘We don’t know if Jack Mann’s become estranged from Harry or not, but in Harry’s memoirs, at the end he talks about how he was “chastised” - in his words - after the interview by some of his closest friends,’ he tells this week’s episode of Palace Confidential. ‘He’s done a lot of damage to those old relationships.’

Now, Richard, it really doesn’t seem wholesome to appear threatened by diversity training; lighten up and let the sun ☀️ shine in! Perhaps it might be better to refer to it as cross cultural training? In the Foreign Service it’s mandatory and helps eliminate a lot of unnecessary barriers and errors.

Just because you all have been dissing Catherine and underestimating her for years, doesn’t mean the rest of us have. I remember reading an article years ago when they interviewed the woman in South America who ran a “camp” that Catherine attended in her gap year, and she described Catherine as having a special quality about her and a quiet confidence that was very appealing and inspiring. Catherine is no doormat. William would never marry one. Even he said she had a wonderful “naughty sense of humor.” She’s got a spine, a brain, and a wonderful engaging personality. And she’s clearly very loving and loyal. William is so lucky she married him.
I’m an American who have great admiration for Princess Catherine. She projects genuine kindness and a quiet confidence. The walkabout with H&M when the Queen died showed Catherine is a boss lady! Love her! ❤

I’m a 76 year old great-grandmother American,living in Virginia. I loved watching the royal family whenever they were featured on the TV news & newsreels at the movies. I was one of thousands of Girl Scouts that were invited to Washington, D.C. to line the streets where Queen Elizabeth & Prince Philip ride in a coach & constantly smiled & waved to both sides of the street as we cheered & waved in a light rain. We were thrilled that the Queen had been a Girl Scout & especially invited all area Girl Scout troops to DC. We were excused from school & rode on school buses with our GS leaders.I saw hundreds of news shirts of the royals as I grew up. They visited many countries & sat with their hosts & dined & danced with them & attend ceremonies, shaking hands & kissing cheeks as Europeans do.They joined in tribal dances & hosted visits to the palace from all different countries.I grew up in all-white communities & schools & know first hand about racism. There is no way the royals have ever been racists!

I believe that Catherine is a woman (read: A Royal) who should not be trifled with. Personally, I agree with Richard. In my opinion, diversity training is mostly unnecessary, when the truth is, we are all more alike then we are differen. Recognizing our similarities helps bring us together, while looking at differences causes us to feel divided. I believe that the Royal Family, being a deeply religious family, understand the value of the Golden Rule: treat others the way you wish to be treated. Their too quick, knee-jerk reaction to the Lady Susan Hussey interaction with Marlene Headley shows that, in that instance, they were not following your wonderful late Queen’s example of giving a situation some thought before responding.

I think the Princess of Wales does such an outstanding job at her engagements, as does her husband the Prince of Wales. She always is so kind and charming and polite to everyone. Most people have bad days when they may not feel as happy as other days, but Princess Catherine always seems to stay calm and her demeanour is so lovely. Prince William is also very charming consistently and looks so proud of his wife and children. A sweet family.

It can be a dangerous path to walk because it opens one up to being labeled unfairly by others. I attended a training years ago and because I didn't agree with the people of color who were there I was labeled as a "bigot". The first version of the Kate and Meghan disagreement at the fitting was that Kate cried. The Meghan version to Oprah that Kate made Meghan cry and brought flowers to apologize was irritating to hear and I would bet that version didn't sit well with Kate. Who said the flowers were an admission of guilt? I also read Meghan threw the flowers in the trash. Team Kate - I think she was the injured party and wanted it known, however subtly.

In an interview in Toronto, Valentine Low stated that when Catherine arrived at Meghan’s door with flowers, Meghan slammed the door in her face. I think the whole incident was probably a non-story that the press ran away with (as they do). Meghan was probably stressed out as apparently none of the dresses were fitting well, including her own. She probably would have cried at anything. We’ll only know the truth if Princess Catherine ever gives her side of the story, and that isn’t likely to happen.

Catherine in her own way is every bit as important to the royal family as the late Diana Princess of Wales was (and still is)!! I’ve watched William courting her in Scotland and the journey of their relationship, and I am not in the habit of giving compliments where they really aren’t due, but that said, you have to hand it to Catherine that she really has grown into the roles that she has been allocated and also she has grown into the family in general!! I personally think that she makes William happy, truly happy, and does everything with such grace and a kind of quiet authority, and on top of that she seems to have that magical touch when interacting with the general public too!! Now if she’s not one of the biggest assets to that family then I seriously don’t know what to tell you!! Just one incident that highlights some of what I’m saying, is when she was prevented from saying goodbye to the queen because Megan wasn’t welcome and some half wit deemed it appropriate that because Megan couldn’t see her then Catherine should not do so either incase it upset Megan, and Catherine didn’t make a scene or anything remotely like it. She took it on the chin and remained composed, and this is about a woman that she had come to revere and had a personal relationship with, and she abstained from saying goodbye so as not to upset MEGAN, who I’m almost positive she loathes!!! I agree with Richard’s thoughts on the unhelpfulness of “diversity training” for those who have lived by the Golden Rule of treating people the way you would like to be treated by them. There is the wonderful children’s story from long ago (The Water Babies) that had characters “Mrs. DoAsYouWouldBeDoneBy” and “Mrs. BeDoneByAsYouDid” - the moral of the story was very clear. Our dear late Majesty Queen Elizabeth demonstrated the former. My mother once said that a true aristocrat treats everyone equally, with kindness, as Christ teaches us. No other “training” should be necessary.

I’m with Richard Eden on the Royals attending diversity training. Surely how they treat all people, whatever their ethnicity, on a day to day basis is more important than ‘ticking boxes’. On that front I think they are doing well. I’m sick and tired of people paying lip service to the fundamental principle of treating everyone with dignity. It seems to me that the Royal family are shining examples and should be lauded not criticised on that front.
