    Thank you so much!!!! I would not have had the courage to try to do this without your video. It only cost me $21 versus calling a plumber and my toilet is finally not leaking onto the floor. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

    nice fix Steve good call knowing it was the fill valve. if not that might have been the tank itself.

    Nice work Steven. I can't believe there are still toilets with the old style Ball-Cock valves. Those Brasscraft flush valves are much better, they last for a long time too.

    Nice repair Steven!! I still have a new old brass fill valve in the garage for the future. I wonder if they even make the brass valves anymore?? Everything today is plastic, though you have had great luck with the brand you have been using.

    Pet peeve: those confounded little faucets under the toilet at the wall. Why don't they put in brass gate valves that turn easily & never need a washer?

    This is my issue detected by a slow dip on a snare drum in the basement. Shut off valve pretty rusted but At least I know what to expect when the plumber comes to repair. Thanks.

    I have a toilet tank that leaks and starts dripping water about every 3 hours from the left side of the tank and stops as soon as I flush the toilet and starts again about 3 hours later. Never seen this before. What could it be? Thanks!

    • @Dicofol1
      @Dicofol1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Looks like the fill valve threads are defective like in this video.
      The leak stops when you flush because there is no more pressure in the system between the wall valve and the fill valve.
      When the toilet tank is filled 100% the valve threads are under full pressure and it starts to leak, very slowly hence the 3 hour delay.
      Try changing the supply hose.Some supply hoses have a small washer on the part of the supply hose that screws on the fill valve you could try changing this also.
      If it still leaks just change the fill valve.

    how could I fix the leak if the supply line and fill valve is fine? I'm adding a bidet attachment which uses a T-joint to split the water supply...when attached to the t-joint the supply line now leaks?? any ideeas?? I read I'm not supposed to use plumbers tape
