This video is great! Before I saw this video I really wanted to get better at typing and so I went on Keybr but 10 finger typing was really really hard for me (I just got a keyboard that day and practiced a few hours on a laptop before) (so basically i was a total beginner) . Then I watched this video and found out that there are websites that teach you 10 finger typing. I chose typing club and spent 1 and half hours on it and now I am pretty confident with my home grip letters .Hopefully I will progress enough one day to have a 100+ wpm typing speed like you. Thanks again 🙏
I've been a starter. I've been using both keybr and 10fastfingers, now it's like 1-2 months and I've reached a speed at an avg of 22 wpm. What else should I be doing to get better results.
I was at 30wpm, then quickly jumped to around 50wpm, stayed at 50wpm for a while, then another quick jump to 80wpm and after practicing more and more I am now at an average of 105-110wpm with 98-100% accuracy. Just keep practicing and you can do it in no time!
Can I get some help ! I've been practicing daily for at least 3 years but still I'm hanging on at only 64 WPM on avg. I was only able to get a Max WPM of 78 for once I feel like I'm just training wrong !
Here's how I was able to improve from 70 to personal best of 143: - Using laptop/short travel keyboards. Probably my main factor. - Knowing what to type and how to spell it as fast as you can read it - Reading ahead when typing - Getting comfortable/used with a specific keyboard layout
People: how to get to 100wpm for 60wpm Me: how to get to 60wpm Edit: I got 60 now, time to get 100 Update 26th Nov 2020: I am at 90 Update 20th Dec 2020: I am at 97 Update 4th Jan 2021: I am at 80~90 due to the lack of practice during Christmas Update 5th Feb 2021: I hate myself, 93 Update 15th April 2021: 113 No more updates would be made, goal has been achieved
OMG me too! I can type around 70WPM in my native language (Spanish), but in English I'm still around 60WPM. We should create a group for "typing dreamers" haha
I am very fast at typing generally when it comes straight from my head. But I can’t type as fast when it’s words I need to look at. edit: it’s been a month since I commented this and i just want to say after practicing I have become faster both using tests and when I’m writing of the top of my head so yay. Keep doing what you’re doing!
once I start focusing too much on the word im typing I find that it messes with/gets in the way of my muscle memory. doing what ggum said helped a lot when it came to my speed of copying words since youre allowing your muscle memory do all the work after you know what you need to type out. [might need to slow down for long or difficult words until you get used to the spelling and motions]
super important tip: let your fingers be relaxed. I've been practicing for only a week, doing not more than 10 tests a day, and I found out that in the beginning I would stay very concentrated and that would give me cramps immediately, especially because I just focused on speed rather than correct finger positioning. If you allow your fingers to relax a bit, the speed will naturally improve over time. personally, I went from 30 to 53 WPM and this really helped!
This is a good idea because I’m a computer programmer. My typing speed is 70 to 80 WPM right now. I hope to improve it! Also...why are there so many children in the comments?
Yeah I am trying to type more in general to get more practice, it definitely helps for broad experience, not too amazing for significant practice sessions though.
going to try this. Current WPM 60-70 on 10FastFingers Current WPM 30-40 on Typeracer Goal will be 100WPM by a week. Current Day: 14 October Deadline: 21 October Will do an Update. Update. I hit 120wpm. average 100-110 on 10FF average 90-100 on Typeracer however, I spent a significant amount of time focusing on improving my typing speed. I skipped social events, prioritized speed training over actually doing assignments, and overall had improvement on my mind whenever awake. my advice to anyone is that this video is kinda shit and doesn't really go into how to practice typing and expectations. within a week the average person could probably hit 10 extra WPS. however if you sink in enough time that I did, you should expect a steady 10-15wpm improvement daily. Here are my OPINIONS and advice. don't switch keyboards that will fuck up your muscle memory. actually, focus on improvement, and ACTUALLY put your mind to improvement. don't just go through the motions not really trying and just swinging by. when typing it shouldn't feel like an enormous physical effort. when typing fast it should feel fluid and smooth. don't hyperfocus on each word rather smoothly and speedily flow through each word and try to progressively go faster and faster. before going for speed improvement you should be able to type blindfolded and remember the location of every single key. if you can get a friend or something to read out words for you and close your eyes trying to type all the words read out and be able to have an accuracy of 90-100% than you can start to focus completely on speed and forget about things like KeyBr trying to learn how to touch-type. try joining the 10FastFinger's discord server and socialize with the community. ask for advice and learn about different shortcuts and tips that some of the fastest typers know. also, watch penguifys video on the switch to COLEMACK from QWERTY. it may not touch on how to actually improve but it's a great watch on what to expect while practicing and is an interesting and enjoyable watch on typing and it helps your understanding of what to actually expect from typing. to summarize everything up. anyone trying to learn how to type faster for what ever reasons, keep going and don't give up. there will be days where you just hit walls and feel like your typing slower and de-progressing. stop and evaluate what the actual problem is and slow things down to try and adjust and adapt. just like any skill, your rate of progression will slowly decrease after reaching a certain point. just because you weren't progressing as fast as you were a few days ago doesn't mean always mean you turned worst. keep trying and progressing and you will hit your goals. keep patient and have your head up.
@@zyn1304 if you see any top typist, none of them type the same way. Try and use KeyBr and to learn the key positions to muscle memory and then you can adapt your own style in typing.
I found that I had to correct my bad habits (too much index finger usage and incorrect home row) and that now I am confused on where to stick to a strict equation like execution for every word, as memorized from muscle memory, or to be able to switch what fingers press any specific key. (Also I've noticed some difficulties have risen and faded quite quickly like the "g and y" key). Also, I feel like when I practice typing now, I introduce new techniques as well to work into my "repertoire" of tricks. Like using multiple fingers for repeated keys and switching positions of the hands and fingers (and how they move in relation to each other) slightly in response to each unique event (but requires really solid understanding of where the keys are). And to follow up with my last point, that's one of the main things I am working on. When I can start recalling exactly where a specific key is, I can use my baseline ability and morph my style into a really adapted and focused home row.
i'm gonna go through each "opinions" and comment through them, as a 130wpm typer on monkeytype.com 60 seconds 250 words 1. what do you mean by "switch keyboards"? if you mean layout, absolutely. if you mean the keyboard itself... you have issues i know that "preferences" exist but if you switch from low profile keyboard to high profile keyboard, and type at 20wpm, then you need to fix that. the keyboard itself should not be the thing slowing you down 2. in the second sentence, it just means typing casually and carefreely. you made good points, but i feel like "focus on improvement" feels too vague. perhaps saying "focus on accuracy" is a bit better 4. good statement, although you may not need to completely type blindfolded, you just have to remember that qwerty keyboard has qwertyuiopasdfghjkl;zxcvbnm,./ if you don't, do it now 6. i cringed on this "opinion". first off, his name is pinguefy, second, he switches to workman, not colemak. i don't think his videos will help much because some people might be mistakenly led to switching layouts, when they don't even need to. only switch layouts for ergonomic purposes, NOT FOR SPEED. you will easily be able to find people typing 200wpm with qwerty anyways, so probably also good to mention that i don't use qwerty, but i use minimak. DO NOT SWITCH IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO, but here's information for the layout: www.minimak.com 7. i second the summary basically, progress is not linear, so don't expect much if you slow down on improving and whatnot
I love the video but feel reaching 100wpm even from 60wpm IN A WEEK is kind of, a tall claim. Great video ideas though! Not many TH-camrs realise people don't know how to touch type and may benefit even with a simple tip.
Thanks so much for your comment! I truly believe in practice, and have personally seen peers (starting at 60wpm) building up to 100wpm in a week! I know it may seem like a large claim, but it definitely is very possible. Like I said, treat it as a training camp :)
@@NotesWithRen if they said that, then know that they are big fat liars!! I've started at 60, and it's been over 2 months now of deliberate practice and I've only managed 90wpm average. And my progress compared to many others I've talked to is considered really good!! please don't make such claims you'll make people depressed if they don't reach what they thought they would've reached in one week, it's simply not possible.
Dude you can totally get better. I once also was around 30ishWPM. But if you don't look at the keyboard and just straight up practice, you will get to 50wpm. It may not be as much 90wpm, but it's better, and you WILL get better :)
I started learning touch typing last 2 months. And now my highest record is 52wpm. Just practice everyday and always try your best not to look at your keyboard even when you make mistakes. It will take time but a progress, no matter how small, is still a progress. I remember starting and stuck at 12wpm lol. It was so hard for me cause I'm used to looking at my keyboard whenever I type.
@@xfreedomx9479 same highest was 23 and it wasn't even words lol , I'm just gonna practise everyday until the 13th when the assessment is due, wish me luck lol, I'm legit scared lol
@@voyage8090 fr man I really like monkey type mainly because of the customisation. I’m 1 month into my own journey and I started off at 18-20wpm and I’ve nearly doubled my speed and can consistently get 35-40wpm. Haven’t been practicing everyday but I try my best whenever I have time. Overall I’m more proud of my accuracy than my speed. Speed is nothing if you are constantly making typos
I was initially hesitant to watch the video because it was 10 minutes long, but I was so engrossed in it that I couldn't stop watching. It was awesome!

I loved this video. Thank you so much. I am a 63-year-old currently doing an MT course. I do okay but I find myself constantly pressing the "Backspace" for stupid errors. Actually, I fluctuate with my typing. Some days I can't go wrong, and other days it seems like my brain is jumbled and I don't know what I am doing. I am going to try all your tips and come back to this video to let you know how I am doing. I am sooooooooo amazed that you can type 100 wpm and I want to be there so badly. Thank you again.
The video I didn't know I needed to watch! When I read the title, I thought: "This is a very specific skill, I don't think it's that necessary." But then I watched your video and noticed how fast my writing speed can become compared to its current state. And I think it's worth the effort in the long run! Thank you, Ren, your videos are great!
Thank you so much, Yuri! Exactly! Typing speed is absolutely essential to speed up your workflow! Please share this video with anyone who might benefit! Thanks for all the constant support :)
Yeah I'm not a very driven person for productivity, but I love to be able to type fast because I feel that I use the skill so much and it's really fun to just clack on a keyboard really fast.
Best video I've ever seen for a intermediate typist... This video is stuffed with information one need..really a great great video! Appreciate your effort!
Amazing video!! 👌 I just started learning how to type. I can type 18 wpm only 😕😅 still a beginner but I will achieve my goal and keep practicing 💪 Thanks for the video
What do you mean one week??? I have been practicing typing almost every day for 3-4 months starting at around 50wpm and still have not been able to type 100wpm on quotes.
This can depend on how you practice typing. If you only practice on 10fastfingers, then that's not such a good practice way. It's good for starters in my opinion since it helps you get better at typing words, but it doesn't encourage accuracy, since you don't have to press backspace when you mistype a word. Typeracer, nitro type are 2 sites I know of that do courage you to type more precisely, and is, in general, more effective, since you have to make actual sentences which improves your true WPM. I recommend watching its johns video on how to get 200WPM.
I suggest going on keybr, after you feel you have good accuracy there, I recommend monkey type, and practicing punctuations there, after you feel you are good with those, then move on towards type racer :]
@@ropergames889 yeah, idk if the monkey type practice is too necessary since I myself went from 10fastfingers to typeracer head on and still learnt quick.
@@NoahHoi lol, johns has more than 8 years of experience in typing, see what speeds he reached 7 years ago (120 - 140 wpm). If we are talking about reaching 100 words per minute on fast fingers, where usually everyone uses the 200 words mode that they already know by heart, then yes, it is possible to achieve such values, but as a rule, it takes several months. And if we talk about printing any text in which there are capital letters, punctuation, and meaningful text, and not a set of words, you will not be able to reach 100 words per minute even in half a year.
I've been trying to figure out how to increase my speed for a while now and was not exactly sure how to do it. You just offered some great tips that I'm going to start on right now. Thank you.
really helpful video and i think correct posture also increases the speed greatly....i tried many random postures during my practice and i was able to find a posture that boosted my typing speed from 50wpm to 68 wpm in a single test with no any other efforts...just by changing the posture
Thank you for making this video! I've actually used fastfingers to get my typing speed up from 60 wpm to 80 wpm, but for some reason getting up to the 100 wpm mark seems really difficult. And then we have Russian where my wpm is around 40 haha (used to be 10 though xD)
I shifted from 60 to around 80 sometimes 90 when paragraphs are easy and short, but key thing here I found once I was comfortable with small letters I didn't shifted my focus on practicing Capital letters which I still struggle with, I started enjoying it but never really shifting, shifting would really improve the speed but I wouldn't say in a week, I had practiced everyday for 30 minutes for around 3 months I guess, during that time I mostly stayed in comfort level zone, spent much time on keybr and less time on typingracer which included capital letters, grammar, letters. If you constantly pay attention to your mistakes while typing and try to analyze which is your weak part where you make most mistakes, and shift to discomfort as your comfort level expands, you would see great improvements during every typing session.
Awesome video, but "100 WPM in a week" is a pretty bold claim. I've been typing for more than a year, and I'm still around 90-100 WPM. I think, if a person can learn touch-typing in a week and use it consistently, that's already an achievement. Also, websites you mentioned are great. I'm @demicuz on KeyHero ;) . If someone is interested, a few tips of mine: * Accuracy over speed. Always. For some time focusing on speed blocked my improvement * If you're tired - rest. For me even typing for 10 mins can be exhausting if I do it full-speed * Looking the words ahead is really important (as mentioned in the video) . And also I'm using Colemak mod-DH instead of QWERTY. One big downside - on other devices you'll have to move back to QWERTY (unless you have a super-custom separate keyboard, like ErgoDox), but in my experience switching between these two is not that hard (I also touch-type on QWERTY). Another issue is all key combinations are messed up (Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, etc.), but I've fixed it with AutoHotKey and it works well.
I appreciate your speech. I really get irritated when I press the wrong key. But I'll take your word on it. If I start feeling stressed out, I'll just give myself a break than restarting over and banging on my keyboard for one mistake.
I'm 11, i can type 70 wpm, but I am having trouble with the numbers and I also have a bad habit of just pressing leftshift to make the word uppercase. I really want to make use of the right shift.
To my surprise I improve so much just by being constant. I used to use 5 fingers thumbs included in total and peck for letters. I taped my keys so that I would stop looking at it, and I started to really touch type. At the beginning I was around 19 wpm with less than 80% accuracy. Now I average 60 with 96% with a best speed of 73. I want to reach an average of 100 so much, and I am not sure I can. With around 90 in Italian, and maybe 80 in English I would already be content tho.
Currently typing 67 wpm according to monkeytype, lets see how much I can improve using these methods. After one month of practicing my typing every day and improving my methods using this video and other videos, I have been able to jump from 67 wpm to an average of around 84 wpm. Hopefully, soon I can reach the 90's and then the 100's.
I, with practice, type 34 WPM. I’m 45 years old, did not learn touch typing until November 2023. In november I averaged around 24 WPM when I just started learning how to touch type. Using my own style I was at about 28/ 30 wpm. Never been a typist as you might guess. But was behind the computer daily. I just wanted to put this out there for everybody else who’s been watching these types of videos and is nowhere near as fast as most these people already are 😉 I also read slow and have trouble focussing my mind. So. All I wanted to say to the slower typists is: you’re not alone buddy and we’re doing great trying hard to improve 🍀☀️👍 ❤️
The quality of the video is just AMAZING! Thank you so much for the video! Typing faster is really gonna help me with my online tests and assignments :)
For me, somehow, taking notes during class is completely different from practicing with something like typeracer. I have habituated into lots of typing errors because the pressure on speed is super high in class and my attention is divided because I need to listen and type at the same time. While writing, I often find myself with the thoughts already at the next word and end up inserting letters of the new word into the position I was writing on. Ultimately, this leads me to not really register what my fingers are typing and thus I end up deleting the majority of my written words. At the moment I'm figuring out, how I can correct this habit again. What also throws me off completely when I have to navigate around with the arrow keys in the document
Ya that happens. In typing tests you are just typing what you see infront of you. But in real life typing, you actually have to form words in your brain first before you can type. There's a delay. I've been practicing from online dictations of about 70wpm which is really slow when compared to the speed we talk with. I can barely follow it though
I think typing in websites like NITROTYPE and TypeRacer improve your WPM the most because when you type an essay you have a bunch of punctuation and such, with just typing words it doesn’t really improve WPM generally
Thank you Ren for the exercises and tips with typing I tried some and they seem to help really well😄. Also quick question, can you please make a video on how to study effectively and efficiently? I personally struggle on actually studying and remembering what I studied when taking a test ☹😥 Also how do we find our learning style, I've tried but I don't know how to find it (tests I've taken show I am a logical and visual learner), and how I should study with my learning style. 😓
Thanks so much for the comments! I'm glad the tips are helping! And great questions, I'll make sure to make a video on proper study techniques later on, but for now, stick with using spaced repetition and active recall (I mentioned these in my other video th-cam.com/video/4OQ3gNRHCY4/w-d-xo.html Hope that helps!
Me : quietly plays type racer to try and improve my 30-40 wpm also me : how do yall type so fast- also also me : realises i dont type with 10/8 fingers and only use my left hand and 2 of my right hands fingers- (so like 4/5/6 fingers at average rip me) also also also me : time to try for 40 wpm with like 8 fingers rather than like 4/5/6- i might reply/edit this comment for my daily wpm updates-
Hello! Thanks so much for commenting! I’m sure everyone would love to see your progress, so please do update us on that! Also, try to focus on touch typing (without looking down at your hands) and start from the websites I mentioned in this video, since they teach you how to place your hands and you can use all 10 of your fingers :) Finger placement is extremely important, so start learning from the home row and go from there! Another tip is to keep yourself accountable- like posting comments so that others can make sure you’re putting in your work! Or, you can share this video with your friends and family and work on improving together to make sure everyone is doing their job! Looking forward to seeing your updates :) Best of luck!
@@NotesWithRen once online class starts ill sneak in as much practice as i can while i also make time for my violin practice (cuz i havent practiced in a while ;-;) A lil later today i try to get some practice after my moms done using the internet- (i cant practice while shes working because the typing pages dont work i just type out sentences from songs and random sentences as accurately and fast as i currently can so it may take me more than a week or so to get to 60 wpm then my next goal is 80 then 100) alright sorry for the sorta long reply hope you have a good day! btw i do apologize if i sometimes do miss some typing practice or exercises sometimes but i will try my best to atleast get 60 wpm soon

but ive been typing qwerty for about 2 years and im still at 17-20 wpm XD XD and this video didnt help at all. and it doesnt....you just talk about science and stuff.. and dont really explain how to type faster at all.... not trying to bring any hate to you.. i just wanted to inform you about this
I've been typing for around 2 months now. My personnel best on typeracer is 140 on a very short quote, and 126 on a medium text. However, I find it really hard to be consistent and get high accuracy. Is there any thing I can do to be more consistent?
Thank you Ren for this excellent video! I was planning to start an internet search with the purpose of improving my typing and you saved me a lot of work! The format and content of the video is really top and personally I like more your videos without background music like this one: it's much better to focus on your voice and the content. Keep up with the good work! You got a new subscriber :-)
Average person types at 35 wpm so dont be sad and just keep on practicing i went from 40 to 60 in a couple of days just doing all my works on my main keyboard spent like 4-5 hrs/day this really helped
Just type as fast as you can for 20 minutes everyday. Don't worry about accuracy at first. the road to one hundred is paved by building up finger strength, trust me.
Before trying touch typing, I would get around 40wpm but after I tried, I dropped to 20. I felt really bad but came back to 40 in just a day and I am starting to see some improvement ! ty very much for this great vid !
Just take it nice and slow, this is not a race for your life or something. It took me 2 months to get from 40 wpm to 95 wpm now, just relax and type correctly - you can't type fast if you can't type the word correctly.
Anyone else find typing extremely satisfying? Haha

yes lol 😂
Yeah. I don't know why, though. "Typing" on virtual keyboards doesn't trigger the same emotion. So it must be the physical sensation and/or sound.

Same 3 weeks back my friends were competing in typing speed and I was at 30-40wpm while trying hard. In just 3 weeks I reached 126 wpm MAX😅
Here's how I was able to improve from 70 to personal best of 143:
- Using laptop/short travel keyboards. Probably my main factor.
- Knowing what to type and how to spell it as fast as you can read it
- Reading ahead when typing
- Getting comfortable/used with a specific keyboard layout

GGum ty
once I start focusing too much on the word im typing I find that it messes with/gets in the way of my muscle memory. doing what ggum said helped a lot when it came to my speed of copying words since youre allowing your muscle memory do all the work after you know what you need to type out. [might need to slow down for long or difficult words until you get used to the spelling and motions]
That's very funny because it's the exact opposite for me, but I'm still above 100 wpm.
@@elijahewers2458 I'm slower when it comes from my head as well but I also mainly practice by copying stuff.
super important tip: let your fingers be relaxed.

Update.
I hit 120wpm.
average 100-110 on 10FF
average 90-100 on Typeracer
however, I spent a significant amount of time focusing on improving my typing speed.
Try and use KeyBr and to learn the key positions to muscle memory and then you can adapt your own style in typing.
thanks. that was more information than the video.
When I can start recalling exactly where a specific key is, I can use my baseline ability and morph my style into a really adapted and focused home row.
i'm gonna go through each "opinions" and comment through them, as a 130wpm typer on monkeytype.com 60 seconds 250 words
1. what do you mean by "switch keyboards"? if you mean layout, absolutely. if you mean the keyboard itself... you have issues
i know that "preferences" exist but if you switch from low profile keyboard to high profile keyboard, and type at 20wpm, then you need to fix that. the keyboard itself should not be the thing slowing you down
2. in the second sentence, it just means typing casually and carefreely.
you made good points, but i feel like "focus on improvement" feels too vague. perhaps saying "focus on accuracy" is a bit better
4. good statement, although you may not need to completely type blindfolded, you just have to remember that qwerty keyboard has qwertyuiopasdfghjkl;zxcvbnm,./
if you don't, do it now
6. i cringed on this "opinion". first off, his name is pinguefy, second, he switches to workman, not colemak. i don't think his videos will help much because some people might be mistakenly led to switching layouts, when they don't even need to.
only switch layouts for ergonomic purposes, NOT FOR SPEED. you will easily be able to find people typing 200wpm with qwerty anyways, so
probably also good to mention that i don't use qwerty, but i use minimak. DO NOT SWITCH IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO, but here's information for the layout: www.minimak.com
7. i second the summary
basically, progress is not linear, so don't expect much if you slow down on improving and whatnot
Isn't 120wps like 7200wpm

@@caidenbond1988 sure but not in a week, it's going to need at the very least a month with 1 hour of correct practice daily.

@@NoahHoi I just found it useful
Thank you.
video: stop wasting time!! type faster 100+ wpm (in one week)
me: wasting time watching this video, and writing this comment in 100+wpm....
She meant 100 characters pm. Impossible to reach 100 wpm in a week. Most people never will reach that.
really helpful video and i think correct posture also increases the speed greatly....i tried many random postures during my practice and i was able to find a posture that boosted my typing speed from 50wpm to 68 wpm in a single test with no any other efforts...just by changing the posture
I have viewed a lot of videos for improving but this one is most informative
Thank you for making this video! I've actually used fastfingers to get my typing speed up from 60 wpm to 80 wpm, but for some reason getting up to the 100 wpm mark seems really difficult. And then we have Russian where my wpm is around 40 haha (used to be 10 though xD)
Hahah! Keep working on it! You'll be able to reach 100 soon enough, make sure to practice everyday! You got this!
Everything you've ever wanted is just outside your comfort zone! good work
Awesome video, but "100 WPM in a week" is a pretty bold claim. I've been typing for more than a year, and I'm still around 90-100 WPM. I think, if a person can learn touch-typing in a week and use it consistently, that's already an achievement. Also, websites you mentioned are great. I'm @demicuz on KeyHero ;)
.
If someone is interested, a few tips of mine:
* Accuracy over speed. Always. For some time focusing on speed blocked my improvement
* If you're tired - rest. For me even typing for 10 mins can be exhausting if I do it full-speed
* Looking the words ahead is really important (as mentioned in the video)
.
Thanks so much for commenting, Denis! Great tips, love them :) Best of luck surpassing that 100wpm mark!
I just started learning Colemak-dh! As of today I'm typing just over 10 wpm at 99% accuracy. Definitely prioritizing the accuracy.
Thank you so much for this. I need to learn how to touch type and not look at the keyboard when typing. Would make me more productive
30 wpm at my regular basis. This is really helpful. I have a lot of insights because of this video.
With around 90 in Italian, and maybe 80 in English I would already be content tho.
did you reach?
if Garfield was watching this, he would say "I love this show"
i can type on 40 wpm and this video was really worthy watching
I write 80 wpm in my native language (polish) and 70 in english, even though I need to use the alt key for letters like ą ę ś.
I write faster at english than at my native language lol
I type about the same speed in English and German (German using "ö, ä, ü, ß").
0:00 General Kenobi!
Keep at it! You'll get there.
Notes with ren: I know you are all work aholics
Me: has 80 assignments due in 1h

The quality of the video is just AMAZING! Thank you so much for the video! Typing faster is really gonna help me with my online tests and assignments :)
Thanks so much for your support, Nicolas! Best of luck with your typing goals :)
I can barely follow it though
for a second, I thought this was my math class...
I enjoyed the video. These are all great tips.
Thanks REN for the tips . . . I needed this.
Glad I could help out, Greg! Thanks for your constant and continued support!
I love how everyone is either bragging about their typing speed or roasting each other in the comments😂😂

@@metalhead4858 Thanks, typing with "swipe" leads to a lot of mistakes😅
Me: Takes a month to get from 30 - 60
This channel: 60-100 in a week!
Me: **does this power actually exist ?**
took 6 months to learn touch typing. got 15 wpm to 50 wpm.
I think typing in websites like NITROTYPE and TypeRacer improve your WPM the most because when you type an essay you have a bunch of punctuation and such, with just typing words it doesn’t really improve WPM generally
if i chat a lot, i recommend playing a game you like with a chatting feature so you have fun while practicing too
Thank you Ren for the exercises and tips with typing I tried some and they seem to help really well😄.
@@NotesWithRen Thank you Ren I will check out that video 😄
Everyone: 100wpm
13 years old me: 60wpm XD :(
too fast for a 13YO not gonna lie.
Hi, I'm 12 years old. I type since 2005, and my wpm is 15 which is faster than you
@@armann8702 im 10 and my fastest is 83
Me : quietly plays type racer to try and improve my 30-40 wpm
also me : how do yall type so fast-
also also me : realises i dont type with 10/8 fingers and only use my left hand and 2 of my right hands fingers- (so like 4/5/6 fingers at average rip me)
also also also me : time to try for 40 wpm with like 8 fingers rather than like 4/5/6-
i might reply/edit this comment for my daily wpm updates-
@@NotesWithRen once online class starts ill sneak in as much practice as i can while i also make time for my violin practice (cuz i havent practiced in a while ;-;)
A lil later today i try to get some practice after my moms done using the internet-
(i cant practice while shes working because the typing pages dont work i just type out sentences from songs and random sentences as accurately and fast as i currently can so it may take me more than a week or so to get to 60 wpm then my next goal is 80 then 100)
alright sorry for the sorta long reply hope you have a good day!
btw i do apologize if i sometimes do miss some typing practice or exercises sometimes but i will try my best to atleast get 60 wpm soon
Update to my wpm : dmy pc setup got rempved for the mean while because my sister had to set up her pc for work-

Well i can recommend u to learn on typing.com it help you to type with 10 fingers from the basic..
I love this video just from watching it for the first time. I will spin at least a hour on bring my typing speed up from were I am now.
it have really helped me though i didn't attain the typing speed of 100wpm during the first visit of the video. keep up the good work 👏👏
but ive been typing qwerty for about 2 years and im still at 17-20 wpm XD XD and this video didnt help at all. and it doesnt....you just talk about science and stuff.. and dont really explain how to type faster at all.... not trying to bring any hate to you.. i just wanted to inform you about this
I've been typing for around 2 months now. My personnel best on typeracer is 140 on a very short quote, and 126 on a medium text. However, I find it really hard to be consistent and get high accuracy. Is there any thing I can do to be more consistent?
Slow down your typing and focus on accuracy. You will make less mistakes and improve faster as go along.
Try typing br
Thank you Ren for this excellent video! I was planning to start an internet search with the purpose of improving my typing and you saved me a lot of work! The format and content of the video is really top and personally I like more your videos without background music like this one: it's much better to focus on your voice and the content. Keep up with the good work! You got a new subscriber :-)
Really appreciate your kind words, Luiz! Best of luck reaching 100wpm!
I'm typing it to check my speed its so slow that 10 turtles would've crossed the road
Average person types at 35 wpm so dont be sad and just keep on practicing i went from 40 to 60 in a couple of days just doing all my works on my main keyboard spent like 4-5 hrs/day this really helped
Her: let's make 60 wpm our standards
Me whose average is 20 wpm: I'm in the wrong place aren't I *sweats nervously*
Don't sweat it out. Practice, practice and practice. Remember, practice makes perfect, and you can get there yourself!
most of the people I know, are typing at around 17wpm
U sure? That is like 1 letter per second. I type double that with 1 hand....
me typing at 1wpm
you mean most "turtles" you know.
I’ve been improving my touch typing for two weeks now and I am still at 30wpm on a good day 😂
100wpm in a week - absolutely no way!
Just type as fast as you can for 20 minutes everyday. Don't worry about accuracy at first. the road to one hundred is paved by building up finger strength, trust me.
can you speed type on phone
i use an ipad and do 40 wpm 2 fingers
Thank you and your narration is superb.
Before trying touch typing, I would get around 40wpm but after I tried, I dropped to 20. I felt really bad but came back to 40 in just a day and I am starting to see some improvement ! ty very much for this great vid !
i type at 430 wpm....
(with 1% accuracy)
Lie... actually with 0% accuracy
Ya ALLAH har insan kamyab ho har insan ko sehat izat dolat or Maap kay liay jo karna chahtay hain wo maqam ata farma meray Malik Ameen.
This video really helped in one day I got more accurate at touch typing and got to 40wpm I cant wait to see were this takes me
Just take it nice and slow, this is not a race for your life or something. It took me 2 months to get from 40 wpm to 95 wpm now, just relax and type correctly - you can't type fast if you can't type the word correctly.
Just what I was looking for. Great tips and motivation here!!
Thank you very much for all the tips.
