I have been struggling with this problem on my Electrolux oven for 4 years, ever since I true to dry out a can of varnish and had a small explosion that jarred the door so hard it wouldn’t stay closed.
Needless to say, I am golden now in my wife’s eyes… although that is mitigated by being in the dog house for 4+ years for injuring her most precious and loved oven.

It worked!!🎉🎉🎉 oven door has not closed properly for ever, had to use a screwdriver to wedge it shut. This fix works because the springs are the problem and this fix is common sense. Genius.

Mate, you are an absolute lifesaver! So simple and so effective. Worked on my beko oven door (I'm in the UK) brilliantly. It's an old oven the previous owners left us so I had to clean the hinges first and apply some WD40 before the adjustment worked but now we have a functional oven door. Thank you, you're a legend!

I have had my Built-in Indesit Oven Door Off, Dismantled, Reinstalled, Sworn at so many times, because it won’t close fully, I’ve lost count. I eventually decided today that I needed to buy new Hinge/Spring Assemblies as I could not find any other possible fault…but a final check on TH-cam and you have just saved me £75 as this trick did the job…thanks for the Tip…I’m now a Subscriber…👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😎

Incredible! My daughter and I usually cook together, and we’ve been joking every evening about cooking ourselves as well as the meal in the 200C kitchen, then the rest of the house seems freezing when we finish… we take it in turns to stand against the oven door! Replaced the door seal a while back but no change. Today with the Christmas cake baking for 3hrs I started looking at spare parts, took door off to see how to access hinges, looked at prices of new ovens… then came across your video. This is one of those life hacks that everyone should know about ! Our brand new oven door has been staying 10-20mm open for the last month making it really annoying to use. This 3 minute fix has got it fully closing against the seal as it should.

This is the best video that has ever been recorded, edited, uploaded, thought of… just ever. FYI if you have a situation like mine where one side closes less than the other put the cloth on the side not closing and give that one side a little pressure while avoiding doing the same to the side without the cloth. The left side of my oven was closing about a half-inch less than the right. After a few bouts of pressure to that side it’s perfect. Unreal.

Now THIS is why the Internet was invented. Thank you × 1000. Literally a 30 second fix! I suppose the washcloths in the way of the hinges allow for some resistance to let one slightly bend some part of the hinges back into form when carefully closing it this way, allowing the door to close more properly (our gas DeLongHi has a catch at the top center which wasn't quite holding the door; now it does!). I regret I have but one upvote to give!

@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel You're welcome. I should add a note here though, that this, for my oven at least, was only a temporary fix. After about 2 weeks the door started falling outwards again... I decided to take the door off this time to see what the condition of the hinges was, and one's pin was broken completely through and the other was severely cracked (there is a metal pin that the main hinge swivels on). So if those are wearing out, using this towel trick might actually crack them the rest of the way through. Thankfully replacing the hinges was relatively easy (but getting new hinges open the first time, to engage the locks so they can be inserted into the oven, is tough! Make sure you have big vice grips or a big wrench and watch your fingers!)

I was seriously considering new hinges, as the door was not closing at top of our fisher paykal wall oven. First I checked for crud or such that could've been gumming up the door hinges, or seals etc.
Ran a clean cycle and saw no improvement at all.
Next step I considered was door removal and hinge inspection.
Then I caught this video and did the corner rags and pushed the door top rearward with slow steady effort.
Worked like a charm and saved me a $100 on 2 hinges.

WOW! It worked! My brand new LG EasyClean oven is 15 months old. (It's a piece of junk. Dont ever buy it!) The door has not been able to close all the way for over 4 months now. We have to listen to the "door open" chime every 1 minute and it was so annoying!! Watched this video last night, gave it a shot, and this morning, FIXED! Thanks for saving us $$$!!

Ive been dealing with a loose door on my Ariston oven for years. Replaced hinges twice. Replaced hinge guides. Added washers to hinge guides. Etc, nothing worked.

You won't believe how helpful it was I've been fighting with this door for a couple years trying to figure out how to fix it, even to the point of using rubber wedges to hold it shut. Thirty seconds later it's all good. I thank you from the bottom of my heart . Take care .

This fix works on my oven door but it doesn't last but I'm fine with that even though I have to repeat the fix every few months. I now keep two old rags inch the bottom oven drawer and in a few seconds it's good to go again.

We got a brand spanking new Samsung stove. The first time we tried to use the oven, the door wouldn't stay closed enough for the oven to stay lit! Samsung sent a guy out, who replaced the door. That worked for a month, then the same problem appeared. Samsung sent 2 guys out, who replaced the door, and this time it worked for just long enough for the 90 day factory warranty to run out. We've been arguing with the manufacturer ever since. This fix gets rid of all the problems, and we know exactly what to do when it inevitably happens again.

After pushing, pulling, twisting, downloading user manuals to try and find out how to close the door of the second hand oven I had just installed, and which was desperatly gaping, I stumbled across your video...
