    Im a month and change behind I know, but Girsan did put out a few other models- the Girsan Match that features an extended beavertail, grips, fiber front sight, adjustable rear sight, and a flat trigger. The Ops model having the same but with a rail. They're certainly out to corner this refreshed hipower market while not alienating anyone who wants one. They all just need a thumb print and a second mag included.
    The flat triggers for hipowers are rather scarce, so nice to see them being included. I reached out to EAA about availability of these aftermarket, and they said once they become available.
    Great vid, and thorough! Appreciate it. I dont think I heard you mention the mag safety, which is nice. Every hipower vid someone has to mention it and you get tired of hearing about it:P.
    I had an early 50s HP, first shot I took with it the internal extractor snapped. Took me awhile to find a replacement and I had to do some tuning with it. I like the external extractors but they lack that classic look

      were excited to review some of the newer models, hopefully soon. i also had broken internal extractor situation on one of my older hi powers. so i know that pain. thanks for watching. ak

    I have one coming next week. When I went looking for mags I found out that the 15s are like rocking horse crap. I could only find 13s, but that’s not really an issue for me since that was the original capacity on the FN pistols. I’m not a fan of the stock grips so I found a set of the old flat checkered ones. Now for the hard part, the waiting!

    Just got mine. Love it. I think the trigger is very usable and gets better with removal of mag disconnect. As for the sights, I think they are fine. If you don't like them just change them out.

    Thank you for your very detailed review. I use to carry an BHP chamber in 40S&W as a Deputy Sheriff in Texas and I regret selling it. I'm not going to pay $1400 for a BHP, but strongly want to buy this model to have an added replica to my collection.

    As for the trigger reset, I learned a long time ago to use the rub Latham method where you completely disengage the trigger and re-engage it. I fired a number of P35 and the most accurate 9mmm I've ever witnessed in my life happens to be one that my father bought it was an Argentine military Surplus, and it will at 15 yd put the ammo into a single hole. And that's with ball ammo which generally does shoot a first-round flyer. Because the gun doesn't lock out the same when you're just dropping the slide as it does when you're firing it. The reason why the magazine won't fall free is because it has the magazine safety in it. Where they deleted that on the sa35. Parsley for trigger and parsley for the fact that it's a mechanism that was designed into the gun to keep officers from shooting their feet off. And yes the Argentine military high-power did not have that safety installed when it was received. Because most militaries would remove that safety. As a matter of fact I don't ever recall anybody carrying one that had the safety installed. It had either been removed by The Entity they work for, the previous owner, or they had had it removed. Those devices are worse than worthless. And the one thing that Springfield did do is they put a slightly stronger trigger return spring so that the reset would be more positive. The only other Advanced is that some of the custom shops will change the lever fulcrum point up in the slide that allows the firing mechanism to operate through the slide and change that fulcrum point where the trigger is much nicer. It is very effective at making the trigger far superior. The P35 that I have that my dad had bought he had it hard Chrome, so it functionally needs no lubrication and fires every round. And I generally try and keep it loaded with + P or + p + Speer Gold Dot. It runs out of that Barrel usually above 1300 ft per second which, 1275 is the minimum speed for getting the nine mm who actually function as a semi-major cartridge. It is just then is it approaching the capability of the 357 Magnum 357 Sig 9 by 23 and 38 Super. And the 357 Magnum is still the best first shot fight stopper there is.
    It was the world's first Wonder 9 with having a 13-round magazine that the time they're all 15-round now. But let me tell you why they were double stack magazines. Even John Browning understood that the 9mmm is a subpar cartridge. And if you're going to load up a9mm you might as well load a bunch of them up because you're going to need them. The FBI is full of s*** when they say that you can't tell the difference between the permanent wound cavity of a 9 mm from 40 Smith or 357 Sig or 45 ACP with the same functional hollow point. That is a categorical lie or they have medical people who don't know how to investigate a wound track or even look at their gelatin blocks because it's clear from the gelatin blocks that you're getting a minimum of 20 to 25% greater permanent wound cavity out of nearly all of those cartridges then you are from the 9 mm. And that is clearly visible when you watch the permanent wound cavity.

      thanks for all the info. we covered the mag disconnect in the follow up video, including the removal of. It definitely makes more sense to buy the ops model or the match model if you dont want the mag disconnect. thanks for watching. ak

    They do make 2 models with a beavertail. The MATCH and the OPS models. These models also omit the magazine safety.

    I’m from Canada and I just got one, now have to wait for the transfer. Love your reviews 👍🏻. It seems the trigger and mag release are the two most hated things not sure if aid want to mess with those.
    Two questions:
    1) did you like the grips or would you change them out with G10’s
    2) the sights also don’t seem to be popular, are those replaceable…?

    • @5280Armory
      @5280Armory  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      sorry for the delay on this response and thanks for watching. i didnt mind the grips at all but i always like an agressived textured g10 grip. i feel that i have better control. the front and rear sight are both dovetailed. so replacing the sights is a possibility, you'll just have to make sure there're the right size. ak

    • @benmatthews6045
      @benmatthews6045 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did the mag safety delete on mine. It solved both issues.
      As to your questions:
      I like the grips, but might swap with the g10 so it's smaller for my wife to shoot.
      The sights are replaceable. They're dovetail, so a pretty easy swap. I'd leave them alone except this is my home defense weapon so I want night sights.
