    I'm the self pro-claimed non-paid photographer for our local high school football team and your videos really help me. Football season is right around the corner, and your ideas and technical knowledge is certainly helping me. Thank u for uploading your videos!! Edit: I simply enjoy being down on the sidelines with the team and try to get them something they can take with them.........it's simply fun and challenging for me, and, the parents really like the pics. Win win for everybody. Thanks again for helping us wanna bees!!!

    I found this VERY informative and motivating. I work with a soccer team all season; I loved the part about shooting the same thing each game and making things look different. Thank you for sharing!!

    I was the staff photographer for a Prospect League team this year and all those sleep deprived nights (while also keeping up with a graduate internship) really solidified for me that baseball is where I want to be. Your videos and your advice are so helpful! I’ll be applying for every internship I can once those applications roll out.

    ...my son started a neighborhood summer basketball league...non-profit...he is in his 5th yr and just this season became a part of the town rec...I have been his league photographer for the last three...so I can so relate to the frustration and monotony of trying to capture different moments...Thank you for sharing your experiences and expertise and I look forward to learning more. 😊

    How do you handle the photos for the players. Do they have full access to it, are there any rules that players have to observe?

    Thanks Billie another great video, I started photographing my team,
    They are amateur soccer teams aged from 5-18 we have 33 teams in total 5 girl teams 2 mixed with disabilities and the rest are boys keeps myself really busy.
    But I can relate with you regarding repetitive photos because I can feel myself questioning myself and always trying something different it keeps the interest with all the teams plus they look forward to seeing the photos coming out.
    Thanks for your videos they are so informative and I can relate to them in a small way 👍

    Hey Billie! I'm a little late to this one! I think I've commented before about landing my internship with the Indians this season and now that we're half way through the season it has really solidified to me that I want to make my career in baseball, and also that I want to work for a team rather than MLB or a newspaper. Just like you talked about, I love being able to develop those relationships with our staff and players. I was wondering how long it took you to get your job with the Red Sox after you finished interning with the Orioles? If it wasn't right away what did you do in the time in between? And in today's job market do you think after one season interning it is okay to start applying for team photographer roles or does it seem like most young photographers need to do multiple internships around the league before taking that next step up?

    Thanks for the insight! How much of you job is taking the pictures you want to take (creative, fun pictures with your style) and how much is taking pictures of things someone just needs a picture of (the more „boring“, generic pictures.) Hope that makes sense.

    • @billieweiss7681
      @billieweiss7681  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, a great question. I would say about 65% is the bread and butter basics - things you have to get. Then the other 35% is truly creative. Hope that helps, thanks for watching!

    Hi Billie,
    Just want to say, been following your channel for a while now, even though
    baseball is not for a sport we follow here in the UK.
    Your channel is very informative and I enjoy watching your videos. Really enjoyed this Q and A session
    and hope you do more of them.
    By the way I photograph amateur football (soccer to you guys).
    Keep up the good work

    How do you get started?
    Is it possible if you don't have thousands of dollars in equipment?
    How do you get paid? (not how much)
    Can you use the photos in your portfolio and for advertising on your personal social media?
    Does the team tag you when they use your photos?
    Sorry...

    On any given game how much of your time is spent photographing the game and how much is say corporate, PR etc. Also if travelling with the team come to Toronto.

    • @billieweiss7681
      @billieweiss7681  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question. I would say about 35% is game related photography, and the rest is corporate, events, portraits, PR etc. There is a lot more to the job than just sports photography :)
