I have been using my Pocketbook ereader for the past 5 years and really love it (it's one of the bigger ones) and once that one is dead I would really like to get one like this! The stylus and size are great for academic research❤
BigMe is not available in my country, but I bought an Onyx Boox Kant 2 (I know that Palma is popular now, but I don't need all the features that it has, and Kant was basically half the price) this summer to supplement my Pocketbook Era (I'm Eastern European, don't like Amazon, and Kobos aren't sold here anymore) and e-readers that run on Android are a game changer. I can finally use all the book services that I have and don't use because I hate reading on my phone. I don't need a color e-reader because I prefer comics on my large tablet/physical, but you truly don't know how limiting Kindles/Pocketbooks are until you have an Android reader! Like, easy access to AO3 alone is worth it ahah
This sounds like it would be great for academic research. Whenever I travel I take my Kindle with me for reading for pleasure, but unless I lug my laptop and loads of books and papers around I can't do any academic reading and note-taking while I'm on the go. And my university library is getting more and more ebooks rather than physical books, which is a pain as I don't like reading on a laptop either, and proofs and books for review are increasingly being sent to me as PDFs which is likewise annoying.
It's perfect! I'm using it for my master's program. It's the perfect size, and good for basic notes and updating my schedule. PDFs are solid there, but you do have to zoom in a bit, if you have large PDFs sent. However, it's great for annotating. At night, I use it solely as an ereader.
The one thing I want in an e-reader is to be able to read on Everand and BorrowBox - my library’s app of choice - so this sounds like a game changer. Thank you for this bc I had no idea anything like this existed!
This looks great, I've been clinging to my secondhand 2010 Kindle keyboard trying to hold out on getting a new ereader and this is the first one that looks tempting. have you tried digital Loebs on it at all?
I've seen so many people review this but no one has actually said whether or not you can annotate in the kindle app itself? Can you only annotate on PDFs or does it still work if you annotate in the kindle and kobo apps?
@@thelittleyaga annotating in the kindle app is restricted by the kindle app so it’s only what you can do on a kindle - highlighting and adding text notes like kindle allows ☺️
Tomorrow, I'm venturing to Cecil Court, London to spend the day browsing among the amazing collection of antiquarian bookshops that are located in this charming street. I certainly don't require or even want an eReader. I much prefer the feel and the smell of proper books. Incidentally, Cecil Court knocks Hay-on-Wye into a cocked hat. Additionally, it is pleasingly devoid of horrid Gen Z types.
@@barrycrump6189 😂 I’m glad you enjoy your books as you enjoy them. Each to their own. I like physical and ebooks and ereaders can make reading easy and accessible for some so I’d avoid looking down on those who use them 🤷♀️ . Snobs are way worse than gen z in my opinion.

Omg I'm going to sell my Kobo so fast and get myself one of these, having Everand on there is what I've been needing for so long!
@@romalibra_books right!? Like I’m glad that’s as world shattering to someone else as it is to me. My kindle has been passed on aha.

I sent mine back I hated it,bought the kobo colour no regrets.
@@terriersforever23 aah that’s a shame but glad you found one that suits you!
Hi! I’m considering buying this BigMe reader, would you tell me what you didn’t like about it?
@@romalibra_books I found the book cover colours to be washed out and not as clear as my kobo, also the ghosting on my bigme wasn’t great.
