This creates a market for alcohol memorabilia, and when that market crosses over with other markets it can create products that non-alcoholics can buy as well. - For instance, I never drink, but I am a colossal nerd (it is known), so I own some cups that were marketed as being for alcohol, that I just like because they have the sindarin inscription of the One Ring on them and it changes colors when heat is applied, I also have Star Trek and game of thrones glasses in that same cabinet. Meaning that even though I don’t drink, I end up contributing to the alcohol memorabilia industry. I just use them for soda or whatever. And most of the merchandise is designed to work like that, such that it has uses even for non-alcoholics. This increases its potential customer base, making it much more profitable. The ones that are specifically and only targeted at the alcoholic demographic move product much more slowly, since it’s a smaller target audience and even within that target audience you’re only going to get those who are unashamed of their alcohol use and don’t mind advertising that fact intentionally, an even smaller base. As a result despite being less common in the wild they are more common in store she,gets, because the store will just leave them there until somebody buys them. I have seen the Wine’O’Clock that you’re talking about, but I’ve never seen anyone that actually owns one. If I did it would be pretty good evidence that it’s time for an intervention tbh. The one I saw was at a Ross, and it did not move for the two years I shopped at that Ross. With that said, alcoholism is very common in humanity in general, unfortunately, oldest addiction in the world. And the US is definitely victim to it overall. And honestly, with Washington specifically, in 2020, I would rate marijuana use as much higher and more popular than alcohol use. - it might not be more common (I don’t have those numbers), but stoners are much less likely to be ashamed of their habit than drinkers are in my experience. - On the other hand that experience is obviously exceedingly biased since I don’t drink myself.

The idea is cool, but the ecological implications of a massive orbital network and possible chain reactions of orbital debris collisions are simply too great of a cost for "I get internet in the middle of the mountains." If we cloud up our upper atmosphere with too much debris, ships will never be able to leave the planet and we'll be trapped on this rock until we clean the skies.
The "little pod for rich people to not have to rub shoulders with the poors on public transportation." was literally just a proof of concept/technology demonstrator to show that the idea of hyperloop works before larger scale tests and production begin. Actual hyperloops will be the same size and use case as regular trains. Just faster and more efficient. I really like Rob as an entertainer but much of the time he is completely incapable of seeing beyond his hatred of the rich. He's not a source to be taken seriously on these kinds of things.
