Nah the old GLA looked like the old A-Class and the old A-Class looked really ugly. This looks like the new A-class which looks the better than the old A class
I expected much better comments. I work at a dealership. The old A-Class was horrible to get in and out of. The GLA was really no differene just a little bit higher but the doors were still to small so I always had to duck.
I don't know about the new GLA but I expect it to be much more family friendly.
The old GLA was the ugliest Mercedes they ever built.

Have a GLA 45 from 2019 before the update...love it. much more of a hot hatch than this gen and a better exhaust.
Except for the cheap plastic-y interior, firm seats, outdated infotainment and so-so handling. I wouldn’t call a GLA45 a hot hatch by any stretch of the imagination. I don’t know why anyone would get that over the Golf R, oh wait I know. It’s the Mercedes badge on the front.
@@effa114 Yes, I have driven one and honestly didn’t see the fuss. Its fun in a straight line and the exhaust is nice but if I just want a fast straight line car for that money I’d get a Challenger SRT. If I wanted a fun ‘crossover hatchback thing’ for the price I’d get a Porsche Macan GTS. But I just got a Golf R and spent the money I saved on making it a lot faster than a GLA45. And I know because I absolutely destroyed a GLA45 this summer on the track.
@@effa114 Yeah, we all have our own tastes in cars. Even used it's not what I would go for, I could get a used Audi RS5, a C63, or an M2. Idk, for that much money, I expect a certain comfort and refinement from a car. The GLA45 does not offer that. The car I was driving had excessive wind noise going down the highway. But then again, everyone has their own priorities when buying cars.
I bought this 2 months ago with the optional vision package (360 degree camera + multi beam headlights). I chose the GLA35 over the A35 because:
- backseat headroom and legroom - I have tall friends and tall family
- panamericana grill
- slightly higher ground clearance - exactly what Jakub said, I always scrapped my old hatchback’s front bottom when entering.
I loved the A35, it handled better and had little pops and bangs which the GLA35 doesn’t
In short, if you need better legroom and you need slightly better off-road capability, go GLA35 like me. Otherwise the A35 is cheaper and much more fun
I brought subcompact CUV because of that. I prefer hatchbacks but many ramps around my town aren't designed for a sedan because majority vehicles here are body on frame MPV so front bumpers scrapped a lot if not careful.
Agreed. I had the A35 amd loved it, but didn’t get any real extras and I really wanted to active dampers and a few other o-irons like Sirius and nav. (Was told i could download it off the app, but cannot). Traded it in and now have a the g;a45 with those options. Love this lil beast.

I'm looking for something like this, but I think I'd go for the A45. I don't need anything that's too big, but I want something that's fun and relatively loud and sporty, but I'm worried the suspension will be too harsh for my bad back. Any suggestions? For the price I'm thinking a CPO S6/S7 and just slapping an exhaust on it.
About real and not real AMG and M and S stuff... ummm it won't matter in 5 years when they go for full on electric. So hand built should not matter as real or not AMG. We should all pay attention to the rest of the car/SUV. That rest or the stuff is stuff that everyone has, but the tuning makes all the difference.
I appreciate how Mercedes always gives cars with "BENZ" numberplates

Give Benz a break. When it comes to CUV/SUV stuff, no one knows what they are doing. All the heritage in racing and engineering never translated in these lifted strange hatchbacks. They sure aren't trucks. Anyway, Mercedes-Benz and the rest of manufacturers are testing waters with all these CUV/SUV stuff to see what's hot, what's not, what sells and what doesn't.

I’m so jealous that you guys get Pink Floyd , Maybe U2 , Blink 182 , etc. on normal radio stations . All I get in South Africa is shitty like 2020 pop music 24/7 and it pisses me off so I have to listen to my music through my phone which then I am happy with my U2 🙂

Here in Australia we get all of them 😁 The new GLA looks a lot like Suzuki S Cross. 😂 Luckily, we also get the RSQ3 here which is far far better and looks so damn good. 😍

You have to remember that the main driving force for the SUV craze right now is so “less limber” people can get in and out of the vehicle easier (excluding the true utility and kid haulers)
That is way too much money for that car.

These aren't really cars, they certainly are not off road SUV's, these things are total crap! Regardless of what brands are making them, they are terrible.

This lights start to look like Audi. Damn... Looks like pregnant A-class also. A-class have 340 liters trunk this 420 liters (i am sure this 80 liter is on the top of the roof just because GLA is taller). It`s total no sense. Ground clearance A-class 160/ GLA - 185mm. 25mm.... Great... + GLA is 100kg heavier. WTF... So GLA is essentially 100kg heavier 25mm taller A-class. VERY COOL....
DO NOT UPGRADE TO 21 INCH WHEELS
I tool ownership of this vehicle, I up graded to 21 inch wheels 255/35/21 continental tires ,cost me a pritty coin to do this.
A year later @ 15.000 klm (not miles) they told me I needed 4 new tires are you F--ken kidding me? Both rear tires had shifted belts and were wearing unevenly. The front tires are looking like slicks worn terribly bad.
I have driven many high end cars and still own 2 I have never see this bull shit .
The dealer does nit seam to care lol ... one of my car care places where I take my trucks , said they have never seen this is theur 26 years of business, they stared a claim for me. Against continental, they offered me 50% rebate. Sounds good how ever the tires are $5000 so it's sill costing me $2500 really???? The other issue can't get the tires now what back ordered . Do I get a lawyer and sue? I can't drive and unsafe vehicle, still making monthly payments. This is a Mercedes not a kia ... I wonder if I should have bought 3 KIA krona's for price of this GLA 35 amg.
Go on the configurator of mercedes and give it a try, its absolutelly insane what the rest of the shit costs there!

It's so plain and boring looking. The only parts that aren't boring looking are awkward looking. I don't know why anyone would want this when you could get the AMG A35 instead. From some angles, it almost looks like Mercedes tried to update the Kia Rondo.
Nothing can beat how horrible the pumped in engine sound is in the Lexus UX250h F Sport. It is comically bad to hear a motorcycle engine pipe in growl and shifts over a groaning CVT.
Damn that sucks. The original GLA45 was so cool cuz it looked like an "Allroad" or "Cross Country" version of a hot hatch. This just looks like another shrunken head little SUV.
It would not be my choice at all, but to say it's ugly wouldn't be my opinion. To me, it's attractive in appearance for a real small AMG. I mean I think it's kinda cool-lookin. It's just not me......way too small. But it's cool
More dilution of what used to be a premium option. These entry level MBs just don't do a thing for me and I own two older MB models but won't be in the market for any of the new ones, build quality is questionable. IMHO, they've become cars to lease, not own.
Not a fan, dumbed down vacuum cleaner. MB will put an AMG badge on anything. The team in Affaltarbach have to be completely ashamed how their enthusiast brand is being destroyed by bean counters.

This thing looks like a hyundai kona. Ridiculous vehicle. The fact we get this over the A class hatch is a sad statement on the illogical buying preferences of North Americans. BTW the A Class hatch is gone in Canada.

The A35 has decent front legroom but lousy rear legroom.
The GLA does well in both areas. So that might be a reason to choose the GLA 35 or even 45 over the A35. :)
Not a real AMG. All AMG should be a hand built V8. But they needed more traffic through their dealerships, especially the service department.

nahhh that's a crossover lol. idk i wouldn't consider that car a hatch, it's just too big and high off the ground as opposed to traditional sporty "hatchbacks." I totally get why you guys call it a hatch though.

The 35 is a million times better for the street.The turbo lag on the 45 is too much because the turbo is too big and it spoils it and the 45 is stiffer and more track focused
