If you don't mind redoing it in gold, platinum, or even palladium, I'll be game. :) Great video, I really liked your presentation form, easy to follow for the beginner and seasoned pro.
But with the proper lens you can do this at least 4 times faster! With more detail at the same time! Man, you have a super powerful laser with these 60 W, but deep engraving a small coin with a lens having a huge working area of 200 x 200 mm is just a massive waste of time. Also a massive waste of the resource of the laser source, which resource is not infinite. And a 60 W laser source is not at all cheap. You need a lens with as small as possible working area. The smaller the working area of the lens, the faster it will work. And also, the smaller the working area of the lens, the finer spot it produces, hence more details you get. Lens with a 35 x 35 mm working area may not be enough for this large coin. But a lens with a working area of 50 x 50 mm will do for sure. It will do the same coin around 4 times faster and you will get at least 2 times more detail!
Newly Subscribed. C02 lasers and 144:1 scale doll houses has been my forte for a while until I purchase my Commarker 60W Mopa. Thank so much for a great lesson on brass coins. Very, very, very informative. I use the exact same set-up and my first brass coin was incredible. Now I have to watch all the rest of you content....Thanks again
I have watched this video seven or eight times, and each time I watch it I pick up something new that I overlooked the first time. Great video with great detail. Thanks for sharing.
I am pleased to see an example using the GI60. I purchased my GI60 about a month ago and I have been having a challenging time doing coins. I like your technique and will try that on mine. Thaks!
Very nice tutorial. Thanks for sharing! Can you tell me where you get your blanks from? There's so many on the market but and I don't want to end up with cheap ones that don't look very good.
That is awesome!!! I have seen other laser engraved coins and they were okay, but not as deeply engraved or detailed as yours! When I redesign my logo, will you be open to taking orders??
Great vid. Quick question. Why did you choose the different frequency setting for the cleanup as well as the other settings? If you could explain you choice it may be helpful to us newer folks understanding how to pick those things.
Great Vid, thank you. When I 3dRelief engrave I can't seem to get the coins to shine afterwards. What is the wire brush you're using on your rotary tool? Thanks
I’m curious what would happen if you adjusted the image in light burn and made the contrast darker? Would it the blacks deeper and whites higher or is that dependent on the detail?
Great info. Thanks for the height map website. I need to figure out why my fiber takes so long. I'm running the 30w Monport with a 150mm lens and a coin takes mine over 3 hours.
The speed is 3150 mm/sec in this tutorial which translates to 189000 mm/min. Sometimes lightburn changes the units, I would make sure that the units are the same and give it another go. It took me a while to get that figured out haha

But a lens with a working area of 50 x 50 mm will do for sure. For example, if you get a lens with half the working area size 75 x 75 mm - your speed will be around twice faster than with 150 x 150 mm lens. Also, 30 W laser will be 2-3 times slower than 60 W laser.
Very nice coin, which brush did you use to polish the coin with the second time? Did you use a polishing agent also? Last time i cleaned a coin like that, it turned red some places 🤔

I would love to win that coin ! I already follow you for a long time and it would look awesome in my mancave/workspace 😎 can't wait formyour next vid to come out 👍🏻👌🏻👊🏻
let me be the only one to have an issue. I myself have watched your video several times and paused it after everthing you did, duplicated that step on mine all the way to the end and when I preview it, it is solid black, like there is a fill layer on top. It does not show the image. I finally did ctrl z, one step at a time and got it back to showing in the preview like it did on yours so I started it and it started make the coin but there is no detal at all in the head. It did a few layers on the outside of the head then started the stuff around it and that part seems to be doing fine but I have a flat head, lol. What did I miss. This is my first coin so I know I did something wrong. 100w JPT MOPA Fiber Laser - any help woud be appreciated. I have been wanting to make one of these for a year and finally had the time today and now I am bummed.
I’d have to see what you did. You can email me your lightburn file if you want and I can take a look at it. I do have a new video coming out soon which might help as well.
What type of bristle brush do you use? Is it a nylon, steel or another type? I normally just use polish but I don't seem to get a decent finish with just the polish.
Tell me, please, if I send you a .stl file with the correct dimensions (for example, the depth of engraving 0.25 mm), will you be able to engrave the coin? Or do you need a vector file created for example in Corel Draw program?
Definitely some amazing steps 🙂, I pulled the skull and cross bones form the website and tried to follow along, but my run time is something like 13 hours, which isn't right. I will go back and try again. How do you know what depth, from surface to surface, do I? I am running the 1/8 coins for now.
What type of machine are you using and what settings? If you want, shoot me an email with a screenshot of your setup and I’ll try and help. Is the preview saying 13hours? If so, I wouldn’t trust that as it’s not really accurate.
Do you know if their split systems use the same source? sorry, looking to buy one within the week so i'm just making sure i get the best bang for buck. @@ArtByAdrock
Depends on what you’re looking to do. For an overall one I would probably suggest the xtool. You can swap out laser modules depending on your needs. It won’t do deep engraving but for everything else it’s great!

Ive had my fiber for a little over 6 months or so. Belong to various groups and TH-camrs. Nice concise and easy to follow instructions. Thanks.
Impressive lasers to be able to etch away that material. Almost better than a phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range.
It looks really good! I am actually really impressed that these home lasers can etch that much metal away. Glad you have ventilation.
Beautiful coin. Love your channel, especially the metal pours.
brand new 60w mopa here in the studio. THANK YOU! hands down the best YT video on this subject i have found!
Thanks! Glad you found it helpful. Stay tuned for more related videos. 👍🏻
Awesome. I would LOVE a tutorial on creating the 3D Height Map. I create lots of graphics in CorelDraw and would love to create some.
Did you learn to do your height Maps?
That Coin was very cool! Great Job!!!
I’ve watched you video about 5 times. It’s a great video. Very helpful information presented in a clear coherent manner. Thanks man 💪🏻
Wow, that's a great result from this method! Thanks for demonstrating your engraving technique.
Came out pretty sweet as most of your projects do. Appreciate the information and entertainment!
WOW! The engraving came out really detailed! 🔥👍🔥
Very good instruction. I like the way you explained the difference i the clean-up layer.
Amazing work on the coin! Looks like it came from a mint!
The coin looks awesome!!!
That turned out awesome it is amazing what we can do at home now
This is pretty cool to watch! I'd love to have a few custom coins made.
Those coin designs look sick!
That terminator coin is bad ass! You do amazing work bro!
Very informative and appreciated!
Love it! Wish I could engrave some of the aluminum castings I've done with the molds I've got from you.
A laser is next on my list to buy. Great video!
That looks really cool
Dang that was cool. Technology is amazing!
Thanks for the video. I had bought some height maps but nobody from the laser groups would help in how to properly set them for engraving.
Did you figure out how to set up your height Maps?
Another hobby added to my list! Have to get me one now
Coin looks grate thanks for the knowledge on using a laser engraver !
Keep up the great work
Sweet coins, would love one.
That came out really good bro. It's amazing the technology we have nowadays. 👍
Thanks for sharing!
Another great video
Very nice.
I thought it looked great straight from the machine, but the polish makes it look like it was stamped.
Love the video, would this also work on carbon steel to make a stamp to make coins?
Yes it will, I’ll be putting out a video on that as well so stay tuned. 👍🏻
Awesome idea
Dude 😂😂😂you got me into melting and 3d printing, now bad azz laser etching 😁😎
Looks really good
Very nice tutorial. Thanks for sharing! Can you tell me where you get your blanks from? There's so many on the market but and I don't want to end up with cheap ones that don't look very good.
Can wait to try this
Love the design
I only wish I could afford a laser. Great video. Thanks
That is just so awesome 😎
Very nice. Are there any tutorials to convert an image to 3D?
really cool stuff!!!
Outstanding! Wonderful job 👏
Thank you for sharing. Do you have any experience with colors on gold alloys?
Hi. A quick tips is to just activate "Sub layer" and add a cleaning layer, no need to duplicate the image and run it on a seperate layer . =)
That is awesome!!! I have seen other laser engraved coins and they were okay, but not as deeply engraved or detailed as yours! When I redesign my logo, will you be open to taking orders??
Sure I can do that for you. Just email me 👍🏻

Looks great, I need to get a fiber laser
Can you do this to a blank silver round? That Terminator design would be extremely impressive on one of those!
Great Vid, thank you. When I 3dRelief engrave I can't seem to get the coins to shine afterwards. What is the wire brush you're using on your rotary tool? Thanks
They are radial bristle discs. Here’s a link. amzn.to/42GiIBO
hi, nice demonstration and instruction. I'm wondering if we need a MOPA laser or this can go with regular fiber + lightburn 3d slice?
I’m curious what would happen if you adjusted the image in light burn and made the contrast darker? Would it the blacks deeper and whites higher or is that dependent on the detail?

@@ArtByAdrock Thank you, I saw your links on another video. Is this coin a different color around the edge?

Hello ~ 3D slice mode is not enabled. Does trial mode not activate?
@@tes7jonadan 3D slice mode is only available for galvo lasers. If you don’t have one hooked up it won’t show up.

How long does the engraving actually take?????

I’ll be putting out a video on that soon so stay tuned.
