This dude knows how to repair an ecu but not time lapse Lol great work man my ls400 goes into a limp mode at 3k rpm and now won't even turn on I'm thinking it might be ecu

Much better at the work. My symptoms were different with my ecu failure, mine wouldn’t run at all. But that kit is available online if you know anyone that can solder. It’s a pretty easy job as far as circuit board repair goes
probably your fuel filter, gets clogged and sometime the element inside comes loose buy a new one...only like 12 us dollars

What is your model of solder iron? I have a Weller 8200-N then another weller pen type. Yours has the wet solder removal feature! Also any suggestions on solder type for these boards...?

Got a quick question...I have a 06 gs430 hard downshifting from 2nd to 1st gear...i have heard on clublexus forums it is the ECU needing to be flashed and reprogrammed...have you heard of these issues with slowing down 2nd gear bucks hard...no check engine light...what would you recommend....
I don’t have any experience with the newer ecus I have repaired a few of these ls400 ones but they do fail in different ways. My car which was when I filmed this video just wouldn’t start at all. Once I fixed the capacitors it worked like a champ. It’s possible your having a similar issue but I can’t say for sure. These caps on this eco were obviously “vented” not sure if you’d have the same result on a computer so much newer but it’s possible

I have a problem with the car recorder for Lexus LS 400 model 99, the right side of the speakers does not work, they are the reason.
That’s gonna be the amp not the Ecu. Separate unit. This repair was on the engine ecu
I've got a 94 lexus SC400 ecm I'm trying to get repaired. You know a good place to send it in at?
When I looked there were some people on eBay selling fixed ones but I wasn’t into that because I wanted to make sure I got an exact match that’s why I chose to fix mine myself. www.germanaudiotech.com that’s the web site that sells the capacitors. I don’t do this repair for customers. It’s too much liability to ship and make sure I can test out the repair without the car. I don’t have the car anymore unfortunately
My 1997 Lexus LS 400 330k miles was running perfectly fine until the cold weather.
When I turn my key to on position the check engine light does not come on thus it will not start.
Would this be ECU for sure?
Anything else to try?

I have opened up that damn glove box to get to it but dang!
I check all fuses and all ok.
I do not know how to check the relays. I tried to pull one out and it broke plastic housing. What’s the trick to get those relays out to check them?
There’s a service on eBay that does exchanges on the ecu. If you’re not comfortable doing the repair. I don’t recommend messing with relays for no reason
@@chrisbasilebuilds so I sprayed every single electrical component with QD electrical spray that I could find inside the engine bay, & near the ECU behind glove box and surrounding areas, tested all relays, tested fuses, pulled them out and reinstalled. Left car alone for 3 days, came back…it cranked right up and has been going ever since so over a month now. Knock on wood. 340k miles and counting.

I got the capacitors from this web site, I will suggest if your doing the dash replace the other capacitors that are not included in the kit. The ecu one is fine though.
You cut the leads after soldering
Plenty of clearance clarance
Can I send my ecu nd cluster to you ? For the sane repair? If so how much
Man if I still had a car sitting around I would but I have no way to test my work. The clusters can be kinda tricky because the “kit” doesn’t come with all of the capacitors. And if you replaced them all it would take forever. The ecu is easy though. If you know anyone that can solder worth a darn it’s easy if you just buy the kit i mention in the video
Or if your in Oklahoma and can bring me your car I can do it. Sorry if that doesn’t help you. But I can’t deliver a repair I can’t stand behind. You know how it goes
