Find Juice Leskinen songs. He was in my opinion one of the best with lyrics and poetry. Also died by alcohol. He was better with lyrics than singer, but his songs will be live. He was written thousens of songs to many artists

"A drop won't kill you, and you won't drown in a bucket, when you get started, keep going on." If you want more drinking songs, Spekti - Juomalaulu is a good one. 😊 It's literally translated as "Drinking song" 😅
Sorry for the bad translations. I got most of the translations that I didn't know how to translate myself from some random site that I can't even find anymore. Only realized that many of them were wrong after posting...
I would recommend other Finnish singer/artist Rauli Badding Somerjoki. His song "Valot" is soul touching, you can also find English version of it as "Lights". Badding's life story was tragic and sad too. In one interview he was asked what he will be when he grow up and he answered "Dead, I'm afraid". For newer melancholy Finnish pop of course band called Maustetytöt (Spice Girls) is great ❤
You should look into Juice Leskinen as well, legendary Finnish songmaker and singer. "Musta Aurinko Nousee", "Viidestoista Yö", "Kaksoiselämää", "Midas"

Yeah, this kind of *IS* the best drinking song ever, at least for Finns ;D I would love to know an Italian drinking song? ;) There must be some... BTW, that Google translation is SO bad - for example that "final bill" - in Finnish it's "lopputili", which in plain speak means he got sacked from his job ;) Which "final bill" doesn't mean *at all.*
Irwin represents the era when Finland was poor and there were little job opportunities here for younger people. Many people fled to Sweden for jobs and better life quality and Sweden desperately needed labour. Finns were very hard working people but they also had a lot of alcoholism (because they were kids of people which had war traumas and poverty). Also finns which were adopted to Sweden during wars were treated as second class people so finns had this identity being looked down. So artists like Irwin and their lyric writers hit the audience with so called decadent romanticism idolising this life style. I have been travelling in Sweden a lot especially Stockholm area back in 1990-2010 and there were still some suburbs/towns like Upplands-Väsby with a lot of finnish people drinking booze in a park playing Irwin songs...
These songs were made a lot back in the day because people used to get drunk a lot. Even in the 90s, when I was young, it was part of the job to be drunk every weekend and often even during the week. In the 80s, it was still quite common to be drunk at work. Even when I started my career at the turn of the millennium, there was competition when I had the worst hangover in the morning. Or maybe there was still yesterday in the blood. Some people still live that kind of life, but for me it's already behind me. Some people still live that kind of life, but for me it's already behind me. I've had my share of it, Believe it. The tradition is still strong, though, and that's why rappio stiimaaminen and other decadent entertainment are popular.
Someday I like to see your reaction about finnish song which is chosen worst finnish pop song of all time. And that song is Bussipysäkillä by finnish late pop artist Janos Valmunen.
Sorry to say, but this is a song that I personally don't like at all! That goes, btw, for most song by Irwin, who I find to be one of the most overappreciated Finnish musicians of all time.
@@riikkapitkanen3666 Yeah, every time people are just trying to enjoy a fun song, some Finnish "tiukkapipo" just has to chime in to make comments like this... 🙄 Give us a break! It's this odd puritan streak in many Finns that actually makes me more ashamed than anything else.

Sure you can take a drop,it won't kill you.
And even if you have a bucket full of booze it is still such a small amount you won't drown in it.
So let's drink! Says the song, not me.

Ei tippa tapa means "No drop kills"
"Ei tippa tapa" in this context is "A drop won't kill". Basically a short way of saying "Ei tippa alkoholia tapa", a drop of alcohol won't kill

My favorite song from Irwin is "tyttö tuli" = "its a girl" which he made when he became a father.
Irwin has a two different song allready for boy and girl

Just look at these drunken tourist comments. Male beer drinking commentators jubilating alcoholism. Che vergogna...😢
Irwin (Antti Hammarberg), as so many other "artists" after him ended up in holiday resort drunk pubs in Spain...
