Même si la version de Richter avec ses solistes renommés est une référence, j'apprécie beaucoup cette version live dans la belle église de Leipzig. Merci encore Mr Harald de nous faire partager tous vos trésors. N'auriez vous pas une version de cette belle cantate dirigée par Mr Biller?
d'après mes informations, il n'existe aucun enregistrement de Biller avec cette cantate
Can't waste time with this one, going with Richter and Werner as the reference performances.
Why Richter ? There is a huge difference between Richter and Werner. There are several very good recordings and singers..
@@rainerharald6872 Richter has the required continuo bass line I want to hear all the time through the cantata, probably the best Bach soloists, and a full comprehensive view in the choral parts. The beginning chorus appears a little too rushed to my taste. Werner's pacing is ideal, and the beginning chorus is what a Bach choral fantasia should sound like. Helmut Krebs' (whiney) tenor is an acquired taste. I wish there was a Kurt Thomas version of this work. The vibrato-less strings in the modern performance sound ridiculous, the choir is all over the place, and I can't hear the bass.
@@carteri6296 I think you have to make a difference between live and studio recordings. It is not so easy to record in a very large church (reverberation, resonance, stone, wood is better).
Example: Edith Mathis was a very beautiful, clean, but very small voice.The sound on LP or CD is much more voluminous than in the original, but intonation and technique perfect. Good for church and microphone. I accompanied her in the concert hall several times(harpsichord continuo). So don't be too critical when it's live. You are right about the modern recordings and also Krebs, but many people love his voice.....
