    Just ordered mine, blue bezel, mother of pearl on blue strap. Can't wait to get it.
    Stopped in yesterday, we were unexpected but stilled welcomed in and shown watches from the RGM collections by Roland himself.

    Hi Rich. Thank you for supporting Roland. He doesn't get much love on watch channels these days, but his more traditional timepieces are always well made. I don;t own
    any of his pieces but I've had him do service work for me and was always pleased with the results. Two of my older timepieces are running well thanks to his expertise.

    Wow, Rich, that watch is a chunk! Very nice looking watch in spite of its size. Of most of the watch brands you discuss, RGM is one of the few I've actually owned. I had an RGM pilot some years ago. It was really a well made piece. I think you can't go wrong with an RGM. Thanks for the review.

    Awesome review of this watch, back in September Roland gave six of us watch enthusiast a personalized tour of his facility in Mt. Joy.
    He was so gracious and spent several hours out of his busy schedule to show us his complete operation. The quality of his watches
    makes what most of us have in our collections look amateur at best.👍👍👍👍

    • @whatsonthewrist
      @whatsonthewrist  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Chris! Ahh, yes I recall that tour. Was that with Aaron? I can totally see Roland showing his hospitality. And I agree with you regarding his watches. I am a huge fan. I adore his baseball and chess themed models as well. Thanks for sharing that. baseball ⚾️👌🙏

    hello rich. thanks for the review. I also am an admirer of RGM company (being one of very very few Real American Made watch companies) and R.Murphy. However, always wondered that how many Made in USA watches can he sell to sustain his watch company or being able to grow and expand as an internationally known USA watch company.
    As for this RGM300, it is obvious that this watch is made in overseas, however I can see it is super well made within the specifications and requirements of RGM. But with $4650 price tag, not being Swiss Made (just two words, but as you know, it carries a lot of respect (aside Invicta watch's Swiss Made :+), I wonder whether they can sell enough to make enough profit to help the company. That is my only concern for RGM.
    What do you think, Rich?

    • @whatsonthewrist
      @whatsonthewrist  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, Alex! Well, I haven't seen RGM's books but Roland is doing something right. After all, RGM has been around since 1992. But you raise an interesting point. From his website, I learned he also sells accessories and has an entire list of full-service repair/services that I feel would help supplement his companies income. I suspect his custom watches are decently popular too. Beyond that, your guess is as good as mine. Thanks, brother. 👌☕️🙆‍♂️

    Rich, do you prefer Weiss vs RGM better as American watches? Great review. I would love this divers but maybe in that black mop you showed. That is marvelous. 👍👍👍

    • @whatsonthewrist
      @whatsonthewrist  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Tom! That's tough because both Weiss and RGM make totally different types of watches. I would say RGM has a greater variety of models. And yes, that black MOP dial is gorgeous. Good taste there. Thanks, brother. 👌😁

    I love RGM. Now Roland is a real legendary watch maker with great stuff. Is this divers expensive? Yes and no. I would say as good as the 2892 is it’s not an in-house movement but we know there is much more to a watch than the movement. I’m glad he didn’t go with a 2824 and charge the same amount. But it still is half the price of a Rolex submariner and I would take this any day over a submariner. It’s far more unique looking. Yes for an American watch company. Great video on a great company. Cheers. 👍👍👍👍

    • @whatsonthewrist
      @whatsonthewrist  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey,dp. No as long as the quality on the nato is good. I’ve seen bigger and heavier watches support natos. But I like it on silicone even over the bracelet. For me, I’d go with silicone. But I also like the black MOP dial. Good luck and let me know how everything goes. Thanks man. 👊

    I wish RGM would've produced a smaller (say 38.5mm) dress diver to show off what can be accomplished with true American watchmaking today.

      Hello, mcstarling07! I understand, though size alone doesn't determine your point but I know what you mean. This divers is a big boy but I just like it a lot. I know RGM has a brand new GMT divers. 👊🙆‍♂️

      @whatsonthewrist  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @mcstarling07! BTW since you are a dive watch fanatic, you might wanna check out OWC (Orange Watch Company). They make a great over-engineered divers in 40.5mm with a true super compressor with the case back and crystal that moves inwards to make it more water resistant. It's made in Orange, Australia. Very cool, very well-made divers. If you like Tourby, you will definitely like OWC. If you have time, I hope to see you at that video I made. 👌

      @Luis Padilla. RGM makes tourbillons and other models that are done in their east coast offices. Maybe not all models are but they are very much an American company. This may be one of them but maybe not for the price but RGM is totally legit.

    • @whatsonthewrist
      @whatsonthewrist  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, Luis! Roland and RGM are based in Lancaster, PA. He makes watches that are done in their facilities and employs US workers, that makes RGM an American watch company. You're right that this divers is not entirely made in PA but many of his watches are and those are significantly more expensive. Roland still assembles and overseas every RGM Watch. 👌🇺🇸
