Joob: immediately shows more interest in a table made of legs than the last 5 projects Evan and Katelyn made for her on purpose
Classic cat 😂
It's because of the legs. Three legs, there should be a lap for her to sit on, right?
so true
True omg

I feel like this video was "We really want to make a mannequin leg table, but we don't want to admit that by making it its own video, so let's add a couple other small things for plausible deniability."
And I loved it.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show table inspired

The table is a "one night-stand." 😂
Next they should make a leg lamp for the leg table.
If my math is correct, they have an extra shoe 🤪
@Fizzgg and a spare thigh high stocking 😂
they sold those in the 60s.
Haha I'd love to watch someone's face react to a leg lamp on a leg table. We might just need to do that sometime

"Our moms begged us to not keep this in the living room" is so felt. I just love that feeling. The quiet defiance of "but this makes us laugh"
Katelyn’s need to say “Sorry, ma’am” every time she was working on the legs is the cutest, most respectful thing I’ve ever seen
I enjoy the "our moms begged us not to keep this in the living room" note at the very end lmao
They NEED to keep it in the living room it’s too good
Katelyn is smart, she knows better than to take her shoes off on the internet. She knows what kind of people are out there.

I saw a guy on a sciencey TH-cam channel putting candy bars in the vacuum machine and it, for some reason, immediately made me think of Evan and Katelyn. I think you guys should try to find out different things that would and wouldn't survive in a vacuum.
sounds fun!
Evan’s layered shirt resin idea reminds me of Mosevic eyewear, which infuses recycled denim with resin to make sunglasses, it’s actually a really interesting material
I was thinking the same thing honestly! I'd love to see what they'd do with it!
Honestly, Legatha is some Addams Family decor, and I'm here for it. I'm just not sure if she's a cousin or a memoriam to a distant great-aunt.
Definitely a great aunt. Or two conjoined. Or maybe just one with 3 legs.
Or it could be triplets each missing a leg.
I think it's pretty darn wonderful. I'm now contemplating making one but cutting holes where the legs are for plants, trailing plants so it has a "skirt". Creepy meets Dadaism.
It's the great aunt and her pirate husband
Now you just need a lacy tablecloth to make the legtable look REALLY uncanny
I thought this too! Cover her thighs, the poor dear! Give her a table cloth!
baby girl just wants to look nice AND have her dignity. Look at her! She's bare! She doesn't deserve that. I agree, she needs a nice evening piece.
Your moms are crazy, Legatha is a classy lady who deserves to be on display for EVERYONE to enjoy! 😂
The Addams Family vibes of that leg table are exquisite. 🖤10/10, would put in my house, I love Legatha.
The "Resin Lasagna" Evan was referring to is called micarta. It's usually made by layering paper or fabric soaked in resin. Peter Brown has great videos on making it and using it for different projects
They should send it over for him to turn! Collab???
YES PLEASE DO MICARTA. I make knives, and micarta is by far my favorite handle material. It would be amazing to see the dynamic duo make some of it.
Yea I'm surprised they haven't heard of micarta?? Would open up a whole new world of resin projects
I was coming to the comment section to say this!!
Blacktail and Johnny builds both did something similar recently
Legatha is totally leg lamps sister from A Christmas Story. Evan & Katelyn should totally get one of the leg lamps to go with Legatha 😆
I was thinking the same thing😂
I was coming to comment this. Legs on legs.
For sure. I was thinking they should make their own leg lamp to go with the table.
I agree with you
100% I am so glad I wasn't the only one that immediately thought of the Christmas Story. So many jokes, and a missed opportunity...
Resin soaking fabric is sometimes used like micarta, I've even seen entire tables/desks made that way, but most commonly knife handles (or other tool handles). Could be really fun for you guys in the future...
I love watching Evan just reinvent Micarta during the t-shirt hole fixing section.
Imagine changing the hose/socks and table cloth to match the occasion!😂 Red wooly socks and a red table cloth with white trim for Christmas!!
This black lace hose look is giving me Halloween vibes
A tablecloth would look like a skirt, that's such a cute idea!
…or Valentine’s Day…
I have never once approved of leg furniture, but now I need one so I can decorate it with fun seasonal socks.
YES
I think it's so funny that if you put a tablecloth on the leg table, it'll be like different skirt options.
Probably mentioned a hundred times already but Micarta is a totally valid thing to make! In the industrial world they use it as insulators inside electrical bus panels, but also it's a common material for knife handles.
I genuinely think the hammer shoes could be decent if designed well. Like, the metal needs to be thick (and securely attached) but you could tell it would work by the amount that the nail went down after she slammed her heel specifically. Every time it was the heel it drove down pretty well. Enough force and a good chunk of metal and that might actually work pretty okay (why you would actually do it though is beyond me)
I was completely on board with and loving Legatha until Evan started taping the shoe heels together - i have no idea why that was what broke me 😂
haha but it adds to the structural integrity!
Mono-heel! Mono-heel! Mono-heel!
Same. I also feel like Legatha a micromini crinoline would distract from the clustered heels. 👠👠👠
Every video, Evan and Katelyn get closer and closer to being that kind of channel
And I don’t know about others but i think, that is Definitely a Great thing.
I'm just waiting on a "sorry children" Uncle Roger meme inserted 😂😂
one of these days they will become that channel but the change will be so gradual no one will notice until its too late
When you mentioned layered shirts and resin, you were literally describing micarta, which is used in handmade knife handles (among other things)
One slightly bigger circle fixes most of your issues with the leg table. This was probably funnier, though :) Great stuff!
As someone who has accidentally spilt much super glue and resin on shirts, I knew _exactly_ where that one was going
Same, mess with superglue enough, you're going to discover the world of crunchy clothes eventually.
Yeah, I accidentally got superglue on a shirt I liked and there are holes in it now
Luckily holes work with the aesthetic of clothing I wear
I love how Evan and Katelyn say they're not THAT kind of channel, and they're not. They're essentially like old sponge-bob cartoons: unless you really look for it... it's just a friendly little show!
8:39 I'm mostly impressed by the level of manual video editing required to perform that shirt pull effect.
This table reminds me of a show on Netflix called 'how to build a seggs room' (idk what I'm actually allowed to put in TH-cam comments lol) where this designer named Melanie Rose designs and builds rooms of varying spiciness. If you end up listening to your mom's you could tag her and see if it'll fit in one of her fancy rooms 😂
Katelyn wanted a Terrazzo coffee table… but got this instead 😂
katelyn lowkey being a cat with the urge to sit on tables for no reason is such a mood
You guys should make a video touring all of your fancy equipment/machinery, it would be so interesting to watch and lots of us would enjoy it I think. Much love to you guys 🤍
I have loved this channel since their first few DIY's, getting to watch their comedy and editing develop and flourish into what it is has been so cool. The editing was so funny in this I loved it - plus the action shots of Joob during the ad took me out lmfao
Evan and Katelyn: Where not that type of channel..
Also Evan and Katelyn:
"Do you feel inadequate about what's in your pants?"
"Pull it off sensually.."
The whole Legatha situation..
Pst... That's the joke...
@@clooneytune_ I know. Which is why i point it out, cuz it is a funny joke.
The table turned out better than I could have imagined. Now to give her the leg lamp look for the holidays! 🤣🎄
Or a lamp torso to match the legs
Set the leg lamp on the leg table!!!
the shirt and resin idea reminds me of a channel that made a car hood out of denim with resin. You can definitely get creative with resin and fabric. It's not too different from fiberglass, honestly. Lots of potential.
Fabric (or paper) laminated with resin is called Micarta and is very hard and tough, often used as knife scales or for similar grippy tool handle type applications- Peter Brown has worked with it a lot
For the layered shirt idea, Cam from Blacktail Studios made a desk out of 100 layers of denim soaked in resin. Actually looks really good.
To give Evan some credit for the 100 layer shirt lasagna idea, look up what Micarta is. It's a bunch of fabrics stacked together and saturated with glue and then cut and sanded down to any shape. I've only seen it used for knife handles, but I'm sure there's other uses.
There’s one guy on here that makes sunglasses frames out of denim using this method
@@starlightlilly7203 There is this other guy that made a table out of denim, I don't think it was the same method though.
14:15 Blacktail Studio made a solid denim desk! It's amazing!
The hammer shoes came out to be just like the shoes braille skateboarding made for the magnet skateboard awhile ago so I already knew how that would go lol.
Resin + shirts == “micarta”. As old as ancient Egypt!
You should totally try the layered fabric with resin idea! It's actually a thing that people already do with paper and fabric and it's called micarta.
I am seriously loving that table. I am getting inspired to do something similar.
Layered fabric soaked in resin is definitely a thing (referring to the end of the t-shirt resin segment). I think Peter Brown called it micarta? It's a pretty sturdy material.
For the legs, fill them with expanding foam. Put a circle of wood at the top parallel to the top. Trim the top level. Now you can put a small bolt in the leg and a t-nut into the top. For figuring out how to cut the legs, a laser level would mark them so you could put a cut line at the top. Then make a bunch to start selling them as the perfect accessory for a replica lamp from “A Christmas Story”.
I was surprised they didn't laser level them off!
@@mary78880 I can’t recall if they have used one before. If not, that’s a new tool for Evan. I got a Craftsman one years ago as a Christmas gift. It is not self leveling though. I’ve used it to hang pictures mostly. My mom used to buy me new tools she saw being advertised around Christmas.
Katelyn's meticulousness with projects even if its nuts cracks me up and also scares me.
You could make intentional resin clothing, like a full shell corset or something
The way the resin soaked fabric just snapped 😳 I feel like that's an interesting function that could be explored
the fabric resin lasagne thing is already a thing, its called micarta. Peter Brown has done a ton of different videos making it out of all different stuff (loads of others too but he's the one that immediately springs to mind)
I luv how Evan and Katelyn make ads, they should really be advertisiment makers
They are professional advert makers: they get paid for it.
They are quite artistic by nature... Back where I'm from the best people after art school end up in advertising
They literally are that's what social media *is*
Just found you guys from one of your shorts and already I'm hooked on your channel.
Now you guys just need a matching leg lamp to accessories your masterpiece!
The leg table reminds me of that scene from A Christmas Story when they get that leg lamp prize lol. “FRAGILE, it must be Italian!”
With that ad read, the sensual pull, and the table, Evan and Katelyn are making it hard to believe they are "not that kind of channel" 😂
The leg table is a perfect companion for the leg lamp from Christmas Story.
14:10 there's one guy that makes like boards with resin saturated denim, cuts it into shapes and makes glasses frames from that
The table looks like something that would be in Moulin Rouge! 😆 Also I kinda think a table cloth would look nice. It would like a dress or a skirt.
With the leg table you now need to buy (or make) the Christmas story lamp
Clearly this is where the fourth leg went 😂
Absolutely fabulous. Would put this in my living room
I LOVEE that leg table !!
You guys should totally make a version of this table with cat paws/legs! Maybe make a food bowl stand for joob with the stands legs as kitty legs? 😊
Get the kitty paw socks!
Oh my goodness this is incredible- but can we specifically admire the editing? Legitimately some of the best editing on TH-cam
cloth like linen, burlap, and denim are often layered together with resin. it's called micarta, and it is often used to make knife scales, among other things.
14:05 Good job, you reinvented the material used for the body of Trabant!
Even with the tapped heels, the raw and taped (instead of sewn) hose, and the wonky connection to the top, Legatha Tables is still excellent. I love her 😆
I love Evan and katelyn and I have been watching them for years😊
So crazy we've been doing this for 6 years, thanks for watching!
@@EvanAndKatelynme and my parents quite enjoy your content
I have something like legatha (icon honestly). I do know how, why or when we got it but we have a working version of the leg lamp from A Christmas Story. Another funny thing is I hate that movie but I love the leg lamp
The layered cloth resin idea reminds me of the resin denim glasses.
Evan accidentally reinventing linothorax at 14:08 is my favourite thing and I would love them to see this plan through 😂
I love the idea of linothorax, but apparently the popular image of them being essentially laminated composites is not supported by historical record and is all traced back to a single researcher doing speculative experiments in the 1970s, based on a mistranslated text. More likely linothorax were simply tightly woven fabric, or stuffed and quilted, or layered and padded. But sadly the imaginative conception of ancient Greek armorers inventing an early version of micarta laminate does not appear to be true.
Micarta though, Peter Brown says hi~
There are a great many variations of fibre reinforced plastics/polymers that have been in use for years, fibreglass for example.
I love all Evan and Katelyn's crazy Ideas and the way they are so optimistic about it!
I love that even when they're arguing they do it with a smile on their faces
i really love the new sweaters. will you guys eventually make that same design in tshirts? where i live its still warm out despite being almost winter time.
2:12 I totally agree: for some reason tables are such a comfortable place to sit
The table gives off major "A Christmas Story" vibes. Should totally have it sitting by a window with Christmas lights around it!
At the end of the video I was just thinking, 'ok, now get the leg lamp from 'A Christmas Story to put on the table'.
This. A thousand times this.
The shirt resin lasagna NEEDS to happen please 😂 it was mentioned, and now we need it 😂❤️ yet another awesome video! Thank you 😊
Just piggybacking on your comment that I think that type of stacking a material with resin is called micarta? I've seen a guy that makes really cool sunglasses with denim micarta! also Peter Brown had turned stuff on a lathe made from various micarta things!
Yeah, that's just micarta. Very popular for pocketknives and 1911 scales
that table is absolutely amazing, i love it and it kinda makes me want to come up with an idea for a cursed nightstand, because i still need one and the default strategy of buying one at ikea just seems so bland right now.
Dunno if it’s been suggested already, but next time, for the “fixing tears in clothing with resin”, I’d suggest using a soft type UV resin and to cure it as soon as you finish filling up a tear (instead of filling them all and then curing them). Not sure it would really fix the problem, but it would probably avoid the soaking problem and be a tad more practical xD. Legatha is gorgeous BTW!
I love how cat people have so much in common with their cats, like katelyn sitting in the workbench lol
I love the table so much! I would legit buy this if I could 😍
You’d LEGit buy it 😂
@amandaa8472 oh nice, I didn't notice 😄
You could buy it, links to parts are in the description.
I actually LOVE the leg table! I would buy that! ❤
I saw something really cool where someone took denim in layers and added resin in between the layers, and it became a table. It was really cool.
Very curious to see how a steel toed boot would work in comparison to the hammer shoes.
Also would totally buy Legatha if she were widely available
23:24 Kaitlyn just missed the perfect opportunity for the “our table. It’s broken!!” Audio. Lol
I think that leg table deserves a nice leg lamp. Like from the Christmas movie. 🦵
WHAT IS WRONG WITH………. ME
MICAH
For table, could have added a tape edge around the top of legs (close the holes), and pour resin as it would level itself out
Layered resin fabric is a thing called Micarta. Really cool material, it can be used like wood, and is commonly used for knife handles.
Would love to see you guys do a project with pressure sensitive lights for Joob! ❤
Or a diy cat talk board.
I absolutely love the leg table! I would so have that in my house!❤❤❤
T-shirt resin skateboard or a candle holder would look kinda cool and help recycle old clothing that would usually end up in the trash too. id love to see a video on it
Now I want a Legatha of my own. :D Imagine building some mechanics into it and having it move. Then add some speakers to it and have it greet the visitors at the door. My gosh the opportunities are endless.
I thought the mood ring toilet seat was bad but somehow that table is even more cursed...
I love everything about it.
I can't wait for the uncut!
14:20 You can make a fabric brick with the resin fabric.
I probably would've routed a recess in the wood for the manikin leg table so that the epoxy and table top are even closer together. Possibly even sanded or cut the legs a bit flatter at the top. Always fun to see how you guys make such interesting things :)
"Thanks Google Pixel for sponsoring THAT part of our video." AKA they don't want to be associated with our chaos 😂
layers of shirt (or fabric) in resin is called micarta and is super strong! It can make some cool effects
