The orange line indicates your device is attempting to connect to your WiFi. Connection and authentication is usually so quick that the orange line is often missed. The orange line only remains when it cannot authenticate. In ALL instances of login failure I have seen it has been because the network/modem has had a hernia. Forget doing a factory reset of your Echo, after all, it ain’t necessary. I’ve never needed to go to the trouble. Just turn your modem off, wait about 30 seconds then turn it back on. (Cold reset, not just the reset button) The same fix applies to printers and scanners that suddenly won’t communicate.

I'm at where it's asking to sign in to Amazon account but it's showing a red line at the bottom and it says it can't find my Amazon account. I know I have the right credentials because I already signed in from a computer online and the credentials are right. Not sure what to do from here. I'm doing all this because on my Alexa app the Alexa echo show 5 doesn't show up as a form to see my ring camera when someone is at the door. Can anybody please help? thank you

I own an echo show 10. I was told to deregister it and reregister it. Unfortunately it will not connect to wifi to reregister it again. I tried and did everything Shut down. Hard reset, modem checked my service provider. Sometimes it pulls up the network but will not recognize the password. Nothing works. I even took it to work to see if I can connect to work wifi. Since it was deregistered Amazon says they can't help me eventhough they are the persons who told me to do so. I made sure I downloaded the latest Alexa app. I have worked on this approximately 8 hours on this calling my provider, amazon and trying myself. Can you help me?
I tried this 50 times !! LOLOL. I HAD INADVERTENTLY cut off my Microphone 🎤 …. Red LED on Power Button means Microphone is off hence orange/red bar ! LOL
And what to do if this doesn't work? I have two devices one works the other doesn't. Same wifi, same everything. Not onky that, but the one with the orange bar does connect to the internet for somethings like firmware updates but nothing else.
I have the red bar on Echo Show 8 while it had worked perfectly more than two years. I can't get rid off it, the micro button did not respond. I tried a factory reset but it did not solve. I opened the device and found one of the two flat cables unplugged. It took me some time before I could replug both ends because the flat cable is short and tiny. Now the micro button is lit red but still the red bar is there and the button still does not respond. I can't believe the microphone is indeed broken because replugging reconnected the button. It could be the cable is misplaced because it is very tiny and bad contact may happen at any end. Any idea is welcome.

I just gotta ask...anyone verify the camera cannot see through the shutter? Is the camera able to see Infrared/Near Infrared or only the same as a normal camera? After all, cameras have been released, that would later be recalled, because they could see through certain clothing people would wear. For example, certain nylons with the quality of being opaque at 380-780 nm. The shutter might be doing it's job or it might not be...🤔
My echo show just died. The screen is black it’s shows disconnected. It’s a dead dead dead dead. Nothing happened to it. It was just sitting on the counter like always. What can I do?
I know this is way too simple, but I had tried everything, like asking what my notifications were, what my reminders were, unplugging my Fios modem/router. Nothing worked. For some reason, I was avoiding a hard reset. But then I noticed a little yellow ball up at the top of my home screen, beside a bell. I clicked on it and it told me something or other, then voila, the yellow line at the bottom was gone!
Someone just gave me one of these for my sailboat sleeping cabin. It works with the plug in but will not charge. My chargers are good. Anyone have some advice for me?
No solution here. My echo show 5 goes blank, then shows a red triangle with an explanation point for about 2 minutes, then blanks and returns to the Amazon screen for ad long as I leave it plugged in.

What would you do if your device never finalize the hard factory restore? My echo show is stock in the configuration screen

I had the Orange line too, I simply pulled the powere connector and left 2 mins, on reconnecting it had gone, been OK for 4 days now
That is good, rboot worked for you but it will come up gain soon would highly recommend you to hard reset it

Same problem. Could not do a factory reset. Turned off Wi-Fi in menu then it allowed me to do a factory reset in the device options. Fixed problem.

Do routines and skills get deleted if you do a reset.
