    Look how cool everything and everyone looked back then! The music was out of this world.
    We are so boring now, the world is going backwards!

      I agree, the Music and Futuristic Style of 1980s was. From another Sphere. Steve Strange / Visage being no 1 in it all. But Since 80s , after 90s 2000s , until now 2024, Music is Rubbish and so is Fashion. So sad. Where did it all go. 😥💔

    Steve strange is so beautiful always but here no makeup even and he is just beautiful.. look at his style. A lot of people had style but his is impeccable. RIP Steve. You are an icon and one of my forever heroes.

    I know it was her style of interviewing, but I really wanted to tell Paula to get her shoes off his sofa

    Steve was a legend - and one of the most handsome / prettiest men I ever set my eyes on.

    Oh, how fascinating to see this. That nightclub looked awesome. I was only 4 years old then. I wish I could have been older. Loads of my favourite bands are from that time. How I would love to be able to go back and see them and experience life as a young adult then. Paula Yates so astoundingly beautiful too.

    God Bless Camden Palace - we raved our nuts off there from 89 up. Hadn't changed much to what is show here. What a place. Absolutely electric in there.

    Some observations here: 'High Hopes' by the SOS Band (1982, Tabu Single, the first collaboration with Jam and Lewis) a massive jazz funk track that was part of the original Flicks in Dartford playlist, is being played when Paula and Steve enter the Camden Palace. Great track but would not have been on the playlist at Billys or Blitz. Also, the crowd dancing to that and 'The Anvil' by Visage, are all rather, well, ordinary - there's even a chap in a shirt and tie wearing a red jumper as though he's on a night out with office workers!!! The whole excitement of what was created down at Billys (I never went to Billys) and what I witnessed at Blitz (on one occasion only) was clearly absent at the Camden Palace. Sadly, I believe the whole "new romantic" era had passed, fizzled out like the trumpet ending on Torch by Soft Cell...

    Visage was finished by then unfortunately. Members had left. That band had so much potential for world domination through out the entire 1980s. It's a shame what happened to that brilliant band.

      The Managers of Midge and Billy were also the production company. They put Midge and Billy before Steve and Rusty , the rest were session but on a share i.e equal but sadly the managers saw Ultravox as the priority and The Camden Palace was a great success and DJ's were yet to be come the stars , by 1988 they were and the bands and the 80s were now also passe

    • @spookybaba
      @spookybaba 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Totally disagree. Aggression has always existed. The little cowardly pack rat hyenas of today who only attack in groups against one, they don't have real aggression. Just severe peer pressure, insecurity and temper tantrums. I blame the lack of testosterone, today. Real aggression, that could help save their life, has been bred out of them through indoctrination.

    Steve Strange was one of my primary stylistic influences in the mid 80's; when I was 'reviving' New Romanticism and Futurism, as I related to him more than Boy George because he was straight. I was correct, right?

    • @ladyfantasy5866

      He was bi-sexual

    • @scottptolomey3498
      @scottptolomey3498 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      No Steve was bisexual but the interesting thing is he wasn’t trying to make statements about his sexuality like everybody seems to these days !!! Steve was about fashion his personality was all about image he kept his private life private that’s the way people should be regardless of their sexuality because that is just blurring the lines.
      Steve just loved what he did and didn’t care if others liked him or not his drive and enthusiasm didn’t need to be exploited others were just influenced by him because he was himself that was what was so endearing about Steve Strange.
