They need to address the shaking in the car (in the game it looks like it is floating) and the cloudiness of dirt. A dry rally stage has a lot of dirt in the air, while the game has perfect crystal clear air.
Most of that cloudiness comes from the sh*t camera though
@@aliancemd I'd put my money on it being dust. It doesn't really look like it because it's the very fine stuff that hangs around for ages.

I had no idea they modeled real stage sections in WRC G, super specials yes, but not actual stages. fair play to them
I tried to find more footage of irl stages that represented in the game but couldn’t. Looks like main stages just inspired by irl environment.

@@toweleeielite in game name of this stage is Arganil. This stage contains the part of Fafe stage. At the end of Arganil it matches Fafe.

I was on that jump on 2000 edition. We spent the night there, and we saw in the morning the mcrae, Burns, makkinen, Sainz, kankkunen`s show at theirs wrc and many more. Obviously unforgettable .

WRC always used real stages since they owned the licensing. I think this is very well done actually, quite impossible to replicate every little details around but tops stuff. Thanks for sharing

If you like rally sims and haven’t tried WRC last few years you’re missing out on best stages ever, an amazing challenge and so much fun
Im stuck on VR so im stuck with dirt rally 1 and 2, VR allows me to put all the focus i need for serious sim driving. I wish WRC had native VR support.

That was absolutely awesome. Games have come so far. These side-by-side comparisons show what they could tweak to achieve even more realism. But I'm not sure you'd even want to! Just make sure it drives realistically with a good setup like a Fanatec DD wheelbase, etc.
Yeah, do we want the games to have those bumps and shakes... Such a tough call. Would be worth it to have those as options?
Games have come so far that Richard Burns Rally made in 2004 is still the best rally game.

We still have Stages from Colin MCRae 1-5 in Dirt 2.0. It's just that they been touched up. CM are well know for stealth recycling Stages in their rally games, and they are kinda bad at it.
@@lordrefrigeratorintercoole288 oh, I don’t have Dirt 2.0 but heard there more than half of stages are paid DLC. Sad(. Wrc game is awesome in that regard. Price is low, and 3 cars are dlc.
You can forget that Ea or Codemasters will even get close to KtRacing on quality and quantity of tracks available.
I know with wrc generations was and it will the last truly complete rally game till it will return to develop rally games.

I will actually miss the quality of the stages in the upcoming wrc games not made by kylotonn. They've done a good job. Its not a perfect game but i have played it many hours because the stages not getting boring. Im dirt u get annoyed by the same old stages
I’m totally agree with you. The stages made me spend more than 200 hours in the game. Dirt rally stages doesn’t give you such satisfaction and atmosphere
Visually is big difference, in games are to intense colors and to much reflections and light
I Hope they Will prepare more real SS in the future 😁 always wanted to try Col de Turini at least in a game. And not a random Montecarlo SS called like that, I want real streets

What shall be done tho. Is for this stages to get ported to Richard Burns Rally rallysimfans edition :) This is where it will shine. WRC is great game, don't get me wrong, but there are definitely some problems with car being too floaty and stable. The car is not as dynamic and rough as in RBR and real live.
Still, great game, just lacks polish with interface, settings being weird, and some parts of simulations off (handbrake is very weird in WRCG so the exits from the hairpins usually).
The game needs more ‘atmosphere’ and to not be so ‘shiny’ and it could look so real… maybe a ‘bodycam filter’

i’ve tested this game. it’s not good
the physics are a little off. tire grip is weird and the 50/50 dif. makes it feels super weird on tarmac and around hairpins.
tested on a 20mn dd wheel / mid range setup.
comparing from richard burns rally and assetto corsa rally and irl
Of course rbr and assetto corsa are simulators. This is simulator ish game if I can say that. All the stuff I learned about driving was from rbr and real life experience

@@tyleruhlenberg8074 I also have big hopes for the new Codemasters game as a big fan of previous games, but I really doubt if they can afford making hardcore game. EA will try to make the the game accessible for wider audience to make more money. Let’s hope it’s going be better than Dirt 5

i hope next WRC game that gonna be made by Codemaster have this kind of graphic or better. Dirt Rally 2.0 graphic is realy good but that doesnt look realistic and often its too bright that it very blinding
Agree with you, played Dirt 2.0 for first time yesterday, so I can say graphics is very tech advanced, but doesn't give you realistic feeling.

Let it be known this is an offical licensed product and the differences are vast, would it be so hard to take actual footage and then build the game off it?
Agree with you. The difference could be less noticeable. Banners, trees, environment. Probably it's due to resource/budget constraints.
Problem would be the length of stages needed for 1:1 reproductions. Keep in mind in real life lots of stages are 15-25km in length. In the game there's usually one long stage around 15km, which is broken down into segments, and it's supposed to capture various iconic components of the rally. So it's all a bit compressed. Making 1:1 reproductions while still capturing distinct places of the rally would require modeling several hundreds kilometers of stages for every event, which just isn't feasible.

Strange that they used completely different roadside scenery with tree placements and such.
Also the FOV/Camera placement is completely different between the real and game.
The game fov is all on me, I made it look as close as possible in game camera settings menu. I was more concentrating on bonnet view similarity.
The problem with car games today is that they shine more than mirrors, I hate it.

The game doesn’t use a s**t camera to film and the car is super reflective as if dirt never got on it after it went out of the painting shop.
To be honest, it’s very dirty during gameplay but cleaned after I have applied new camera angle in the replay mode, maybe it’s a bug because I used custom livery. The game dirtiness was so much more intense than irl.

Too bad the Sweden stages weren’t that accurate. At least not in the aspects of surrounding environments. I live in Umeå and there isn’t a windwill within 200 miles.
Still I can see why they wouldn’t put the effort to exactly replicate as it was their last time doing it.
But nevertheless, they remade Sweden from scratch and it looks better than in 10. It's completely new in Generations. Is it still far from real life environment?

Wrc generations definitely.
Mostly because of that weird DR 2.0 drift physics like in NFS games - handbrake, full throttle, control with steering, repeat. Infinite grip, car drive feels unnatural and unfair. Visually DR 2.0 is insanely beautiful.

I think games like these are not realistic enough because they look too clean, too sharp and the colors are too saturated.
if they want to be authentic why not just laser scan the fucking courses... you don't' even have to do by foot anymore, you can literally just drive the scanner around with a car
Laser scan is very expensive and takes more time. I’m pretty sure devs didn’t have a possibility even to visit every country

@@Wedge4Life laser scan technology and resources(time, people, tech tools) costs a lot, check the videos about how is laser scan in iRacing made. 3.5km length track requires a lot of resources.

@@Wedge4Life I think, laser scan for rally games for mass public (which wrc is targeting to get) are not aimed to that level of realism, I mean it would be great, but mass public would be bored from long real life stages, or even wont notice that huge work behind. I think it have to balance between good level of entertainment and realism, which isn’t necessary achieved by laser scan. Good artwork to add more real like look of the image will be more valuable among gamers. As we can see on the video, the roads not very clean and visibility isn’t that sharp.

Irl camera has bigger vertical FOV, in game you cant adjust camera exactly like that.
Not so good reality
Except for the stages and graphics which are nice this game is trash as a driving experience with a wheel as a sim. The throttle in 1st gear is busted, FFB is crap and the simulation aspect is lacking.
