Couldn't watch the whole thing. 33 minutes of semi-staged banter about a broken car that was just as broken at the end of the video and road tripped nowhere. After 10 minutes I just skipped through to the end.

Another common problem was the sensor for the parking brake would be out of position especially if someone opened the armrest to adjust the parking brake cable or something

I own a 2015 Daihatsu Mira, imported from Japan. Though small, the car is extremely reliable.
Only downside is that it needs quality fuel. I once accidentally used bad fuel and the engine started misfiring.
Clean the throttle body and get new spark plugs. You should be fine.
How do you import a vehicle that's less than 25 years old?

I actually wanted that tiny car to work! I drove around my dad's 2016 Nissan Versa for a while and was growing to love it. 5 speed stick, has a 1.6L engine. Not even a hybrid and gets 38 miles a gallon. Compared to all the vehicles I've drove that get 22-27 mpg, it does make a difference in gas cost. We're talking almost 400 miles from 10 gallons of gas! Has a proper back seat and trunk, too. You get a lot of functionality moving up from subcompact to compact. American brands just refuse to do right by the category.
Sam could've just given Rich his Mira and fixed the doer-upper himself in his episodes.

My buddies and I did a 1458km(905mile) trip in the outback of Australia in one of these(rented), only it was a 3 cylinder non turbo and we had to contend with the road trains. It was sketchy but we made it back in one piece, can't say the same for the car though. Fun times.🙃

Love an old daihatsu turbo. A neighbour here in the UK had a daihatsu charade turbo I think a 1 litre, Japanese import back in the early 90s, first car that got me into cars
I had one of those too, it was an awesome little car
I (almost) daily a Daihatsu Copen (660cc turbo), definitely not as cool as the old Charade Turbo's but its still a fun little car. For longer journeys I must admit I take my E46

Thats my first car . Lots of good memories. Its called daihatsu cuore in my country. It was 2005 model . 4 door with 850cc engine and 3 speed automatic transmission . The car is very very reliable . So excited to see that car on your channel

After the highest gear on a manual (often marked E for economy) )you can always one up it.
Shift direct to Racing or Rallye (marked with R on the shifter) you often have to pull a little ring or press down the handle, to make it happen. Then you let the clutch slip really fast.
@ rich, why did you remove the window gutters? wouldn't have that made the trip home more pleasant?
They also let you park with the windows cracked and not get the rainwater in.

I used to own a Diahatsu back in the late 80’s, 1 liter 3 cylinder gas, front wheel drive, had 5 speed with air and power windows. I have done over 110 MPH quite a few times, and for some reason the p.o.s. actually felt sturdy on the highway and damn good in the snow.also, Toyota had something to do with importing the Daihatsu…..
That pcv valve would have fixed the running issue honestly. The amount of stuff that Little part affects on a turbo car is insane

Daihatsu is basically a Toyota. On the older cars pre OBD2 if you got the (!) light it could also be the charging circuit (alternator), not just the brakes.
That Soarer with 1JZ-GTE engine is keeper but if you put a lot of money in it. As for his pass window, changing a window regulator is a nightmare in that car to where the trim around the window (exterior) has to come out just to get the regulator out and in.

Boost goes into your inlet manifold, if you've got a pcv valve come from that which is popping and farting then that is where you are losing boost

Sounded easily fixable to me. The suspension would limit speed if not fixed but sometimes it is just things being loose.
Rich, for Dahiatsu parts (or compatible parts) you should visit any Toyota dealership or Toyota parts store, Daihatsu is a "sub brand" of Toyota and their cars share parts with other cars of the Toyota group.

PCV can be a boost leak (and blow out engine seals) as well as the bypass valve. The rear panhard bar might have shot bushings

Sorry Rich to say this but totally ignoring the elephant in this room doesn't play well for me. It is now several videos your channel is ignoring the subject of Stevon (Steven) and I am probably not the only one here missing him dearly. It was pointed out to me at the recent live session that all former vid's thumbnail depicting Steven has been replaced. Retro depicting (whatever that means)? This channel was based on truth, talking about the untold. Most of your followers signed up because you're the bloke telling the truth, "a no hold back guy". At least that was my main draw into your channel. Sure what you do is fun but what was made it unique was what you and Stevon have delivered. Crazy flute tunes, funny banter and even more crazy builds (mostly the design and craftwork of Stevon). Both unique and outstanding vids. Not only entertaining but worth to wait for. Now what I see is nothing unique. Many channels YT suggest are on par with the content. Stevon and you were a fruit no other fruit can compete with. The silence make people wonder and more and more silence give birth to more rumours. To tell the truth your channel has made it ( the priority) obligation to talk the truth (even if it is unsettling, disturbing, or demolishing). I am now on the brink of unsubbing. You are a good guy (I like you) but without Stevon you are only a guy on YT. I got at least 10 on my list similar. None of them has reached the level of quality content before, but then Stevon disappeared (got injured). Now all 10 is back to take a sub. I am confused and disappointed. Pls clear the waters. Thank you. (I will base my unsub/stay subbed decision factor on this comment's like/dislike ratio to keep it balanced. Keep in mind: I am only one subscriber here, so in general, it shouldn't matter what my point is, right? Bring this on! Is there a point to address (read above) or should I just leave? Click!
Couldn't have said it better myself. Since this silence and thumbnail removal BS I've found and subbed to LSC and a couple others that I enjoy more now. I'm not even gonna watch this episode. I'm only subbed still so I can see if the comments ever say it's been explained.

Few more knowledgeable people speculated that there are legal ramifications after the crash stevon had. Someone is suing someone, in the interest of the legal, it's likely they don't disclose anything till its over.
Removing Stevon off thumbnails could be a red herring or minimising costs which may insure for compensations. Is Rich trolling again? No idea, don't care tbh.
The mood of the content has become a little dry/toned down. Hopefully it picks up again.
