The way you describe it makes sense with the excessive fuel trim. You also mentioned the "AIR" side of the equasion. I've seen your "one hour +" video about diagnosing not only fuel, but the AIR side also. Seeing the 5 Gas backs up the theory of operation. There's a lot going on here! Instead of dripping fuel all over the place, just remove the fuel relay and crank the engine or let it start and die, I do this all the time and there is barely any pressure in the system when disconnecting fuel lines.
Great fix . If you change " a bunch of parts " , you may , as this PROVES , add in ANOTHER problem that was NEVER there to begin with . Especially using low end WHITE BOX , NO NAME components . Verify EACH step in the repair . Thanks . But can you teach people how to think ?
Bernie, regarding this Volvo, the computer controls the fuel pressure based on the rail pressure sensor reading. It was nice that they still had the old sensor, but what if they did not? Could you have induced external voltage changes to the computer to get it to increase the fuel pump pressure? Could this test the computer's reaction with pressure control in relation to the rail pressure sensor voltages? I am just curious. Thanks so much for being here for us. I am learning a lot from you. Keep up the great work.
