I use a Dawn bristle brush with soap dispenser which has softer bristles than my other sink brush and it works better at cleaning the mesh baskets. I tried the firmer bristle brush and it takes twice as long to clean. For whatever reason the softer bristle brush gets the job done much faster and easier.

When I air fry messy things, I use the broiler pan on the bottom shelf, lined with foil to catch all the drips and protect the bottom heating element. Makes for super easy cleanup.

Thank you🙏🦋I used to do that but then I felt it blocks the heat from circulating and it takes longer for the food to get Air Fried.

First of all I'm new to air frying and my new Breville Smart Oven.
I haven't done much yet because I wanted to learn how to clean it properly first. I have done the number of pizzas and some Pillsbury cinnamon rolls. So what I did, what's the place of barrier between the top heating elements between the pizza and the top heating elements. And I am absolutely convinced that placing any kind of a barrier underneath or above the heating element will hinder the cooking process. It basically reflects the heat back and shuts off the heat because the machine feels that it's reached this baking temperature therefore not really cooking the food at the desired temperature. I have proved it to myself many times now.
When I removed the barrier the oven attained the desired temperature quickly and cook the food properly. Here's a link to a product that I think May helping this regard. I haven't completely tested these yet. But I bet they work, or will greatly reduce the amount of cleanup and splattering going on without deflecting the Heat and changing the cooking values and times and done this.
Here's another tip that I use. Before I use my oven I saw a video here on TH-cam showing how food particles and crumbs will discolor the crumb tray. so they used aluminum foil down there instead. I ordered a smaller, almost the exact size has the crumb tray itself Amazon basics silicone baking mat. And just by placing it carefully and not trying to trim it, which probably would allow some of the fibers inside the mat to circulate with the food, I just move it around until it's a perfect fit and the bottom Trey slides in and out easily. I found that if I place it wrong and it's a little tight coming out I take one finger and press down a little bit in the center of the tray and it slides right out. One last thought. I am going to try to clean the inside after using with a homemade glass cleaner as described by another Breville owner. It's water vinegar and alcohol, I use 99% alcohol because of the cleaning power of 99% . Here's the recipe for the glass cleaner
      - One part vinegar
      - Two parts water
      - Two ounces 99% alcohol
If you want to test this hypothesis Take a black Sharpie Marker and make a mark on something .
Then try rubbing alcohol to clean it off And then try 99% alcohol .
You will quickly see The cleaning properties of 99% .
I learned this Secret From a professional Automobile detailer
On TH-cam Showing his homemade concoction for cleaning Auto interiors. This video can be found at " sweet project cars, upholstery cleaning "
Here's the recipe and video for the cleaner using 99% alcohol. Who knows you may have dirty upholstery that needs cleaning as well.

I just ordered the perforated parchment paper pre-cut for my Ninja Foodi oven air fryer. (But I also just tried some from a roll and that seemed to work fine.) It’s also coming with a silicone mat for the crumb/drip tray.
Right now my tray and basket are soaked with oven cleaner spray. You are correct that putting them in the dishwasher will just harden the dirt. I used a copper scouring pad on the basket and will try next on the tray.

My understanding is that lining our air fryers with tin foil is a bad idea, which is sad because I've been using it for a couple of years. Apparently, it voids the warranty- if anyone still has an active warranty, or even cares about that. Tin foil supposedly will ruin the finish on the inside walls & bottom of air fryer, as well as wear out the heating elements on these appliances. I found this out when I began researching why my heating elements had 'dead spots'~ sections along the elements that no longer get red hot during cooking. I was told that there is a reaction w/the aluminum foil & the inside surfaces, as well as the elements. Next I will try the silicone oven liners, cutting them to size if necessary.
I do use parchment paper under my food, being careful not to have extra bits over the edges, because the paper will burn if it gets super hot, or comes in contact with the heating elements. You can order parchment liners for various size air fryer baskets or trays/racks, they are pre-made w/holes in them. =)

I used those silicon cookies sheet and i punched whole in it it works very well and don’t need to waste paper again and again. What about the wood cutting board over the oven ? It is there to protect burns while in use .

I love the Wood cutting board it has many benefits … a great place to put hot pans or dishes once you take them out of the oven. It protects your cupboard above and or items placed on it. Also very convenient as a cutting board …and you can use it as cheese display board…the board also gives back space taken by the oven. It is a must I absolutely love it💕🌸Not to mention it makes my smart Oven Air Fryer looks much better💯🌟

Hi, thank you so much for your videos! I just bought the smaller smart oven in Blue but the directions say not to use any paper, plastic, or cardboard because their flammable & it says not to use foil anywhere in oven because it will cause overheating-are they just being extra careful with the safeguards?
