    this is reallly great tutorial! Can you show us how you combine a skin weight and shape keys with combine CC4 and blender? In my case once i put value 1 on my eyelids then it's completly destroy other parts of face of the creature . Most tutorials are about typical human shape but it's diffuclt to find a tutorials with a creatures and not standard face shape. I can't find a tutorial how to cope with it but still your tutorials are the best one which i found it so far. Thanks

      Hey, wieghts painting is a nightmare. Just make sure you're only highlighting the front of the face.

    How do you make it blink?

    • @stevefilmUE5
      @stevefilmUE5  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's something I'm working on. You have to send the mesh into blender and sculpt an eyelid. Bring it back into CC4 and use the morph slider, like I did with the eyes and jaw.

    Hi again!! So I have my character setup using this method and it worked great, Thanks for that!! but I have a problem, the "lipsync_M" animation from the motions menu doesn't work with the mouth. why is that?

    • @stevefilmUE5
      @stevefilmUE5  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey. I'm not sure why that's not working. Can you do a video and post it up? Let me have a look.

      @@stevefilmUE5 sorry! I can't post it online since this is confidential work. But the mouth just doesnt have any animation working, the others are working though (eyes, brows, head).
      Its okay! Ill have a look around and see why it isn't working. I'll let you know if I can fix it. Thanks!

      @illustraceon633 I was wondering, that happened to me when I was testing, i painted weights to the wrong bone. Have you checked that you have the right bone? You can do a quick check by moving all the head bones and see if you made a mistake. Hope that helps.

      @@stevefilmUE5 I checked my character, they're painted on the right bones but I did notice that in 2:32 of the video, there are no facial bones displayed while skin weighting, would that have something to do with the problem?

    • @stevefilmUE5
      @stevefilmUE5  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @illustraceon633 can I check... the tutorial only opens and shuts the jaw. If you want the face to move ie lips, eyes to blink. Then, you need to use morph targets. I've made another video that tiptoes into that method. It's the same character but I make him blink. You can use blender to move the face around to get the shapes. I hope that makes sense.

    Every time I click off of accurig my facial bones disappear. They are nowhere to be seen in weight painting.

    • @stevefilmUE5
      @stevefilmUE5  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that's right. You just have to pick the eye bone and paint the weights. Then pick the jaw bone and paint again. You can always check it's working by moving the bone in proportion. Hope that helps.

    oh my god, use symmetry and wireframe mode, dude. you don't just arbitrarily position a bone or paint weights.

    Why are you creating facial morphs from scratch, when you can buy a cheap Reallusion package that contains hundreds of morph targets?
    I understand this is done for educational purposes, but I'm wondering whether there is another reason behind it. I think it's ridiculously time consuming and inefficient to create so many morph targets yourself or give to your animators, per game character in your game.
