27 weeks and I still don't have unusual cravings, just normal cravings like I did before I was preggo. I am however always hungry, but nothing in particular for.

I was GBS positive and I was only in labor for 3 hours my baby girl was born within 30 mins of arriving at the hospital. My biggest fear was something happening to her because I didn’t get the antibiotics but I’m so thankful I have a healthy almost 1 month old. If I ever have another I’m definitely going to try these to try and prevent GBS

After being GBS+ with my first, all my providers seemed to do was give the downside. I get it, but knowing it can be reversed/prevented was NEVER mentioned. Ugh. Thank you for this info! Definitely puts me at ease going midway through pregnancy #2 🥰
I was GBS + for my last baby... Warnt given the test results. During my very fast delivery ...out he came. The nightmare was immediate... Double pneumothorax, sepsis and pneumonia...with a miraculous 6 day stay in NICU. Absolutely SCARY!!! it was horrible.
My Ob did NOT tell me any of this and now I'm BGS positive. I'm extremely disappointed with this heal care here in Ocala Florida. It's disappointing ! If that's all I needed to do to prevent it then I would have, but she said it'a so common it doesn't matter I'll just have a cillin IV at the hospital when I clearly told her I want home birth! I'm not happy with this staff. This is why I love your videos they're more informative than my bloody ob !
I am so sorry you experienced this! It’s really a shame how undermined us momma’s can be in this process when it comes to medical care and assistance with pregnancy. I’m also a Florida resident not far from Ocala area. If you ever need a recommendation in the future for yourself or anyone else, Riverbend Midwifery has been an absolute godsend for my first pregnancy! I’m 37 weeks now and was diagnosed yesterday with GBS (we were given an informational pamphlet on the condition early on in pregnancy, so she made sure we were mentally prepared for this in advance), my midwife Rosalie was very informative on the matter and even reassured me it wouldn’t impact my home birth plan- that she’d simply bring the antibiotic drip in case it was requested by me. She also made sure I was informed on the effects of the antibiotic and that it can strip away the good bacteria along with the bad one. Hasn’t pressured me one bit on my decisions and has kept me informed and calm through this whole experience- even before my diagnosis with GBS. 💞 I hope this can help!
I’m currently 37 weeks and was just diagnosed with GBS yesterday by my midwife (She gave me an info pamphlet on this condition along with other possible things I could experience during pregnancy since this is my first baby, but I never expected to get it myself as it’s seemed so rare). She was very quick to inform me not to stress myself out too deeply but to stay informed on the matter and educate myself for ease of mind. I wish I had done my research so much earlier, life was so hectic during my early pregnancy I didn’t even consider this to become a possibility. 😭 Thank you for this informative video!
Thanks for this video!!! I’m 36 weeks pregnant and the last week was such a nightmare for me, having stomach issues all the time, bloatedness, indigestion, gases, with almost everything I ate, no matter how healthy it was. Then on Sunday morning coincidentally my GBS test came back with a positive result, I had no idea what it meant so I came to search your input in this matter, my husband heard the video and immediately bought me some probiotics that I started taking right away and boom, I’m also feeling better from my stomach issues while hopefully getting rid of that GBS. I would like more information on what can I do to AVOID the antibiotics, definitely not what I want, not an option for me. I already have a very messed up gut and immune system from taking too many antibiotics as a baby, so DEFINITELY NOT WHAT I WANT FOR MY OWN BABY, nor for me on delivery. Also, is it okay to take garlic while pregnant?? I did it before but I stupidly stopped because I read it was better not to 😒😒😒, definitely in shock on how the healthcare system is all about curing disease but not educating you in natural options on how to prevent it, and how they demonise natural remedies during pregnancy but NOT their laboratory garbage. For all I knew in my country they emphasised me a lot on taking tons of iron and calcium, but never did I hear a doctor instructing me in taking Zinc or VitC, or investing in good probiotics, or stuff like that. I feel sooooo disappointed with this health approach. Learning better for my next pregnancy!!! Again!!! Thanks Bridget for your videos, they have instructed me sooooo much, everything I doubt about or don’t hace it clear I come to your channel to search, and there you give a clear answer with a much better approach ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I was GBS positive with my first baby and didn’t know about it until I got to the hospital and they were like, “So you were GBS positive, time for a 4 hour antibiotic drip.” Now, my labor ended up being 32 hours from start to finish and baby girl really stalled out, so I had plenty of time for that antibiotic, but…still. Would’ve liked to know about it ahead of time. I’m currently 29 weeks pregnant with baby #2 and only just started taking a probiotic a week ago. Not sure that it’ll help much by the time I give birth this time, but one can always hope!
@@mehakparvez5982 I ended up being GBS positive again. This time I called for my results, since I figured I wouldn’t be told about it otherwise again. Delivered on July 10th and baby’s doing great!
I’ve been taking Apple cider vinegar, Vitamin C, garlic capsules & eating Greek yogurt for two weeks. Wish I knew about zinc early. My test is tomorrow 😬🤞 as I am deathly allergic to penicillin, I’m scared of antibiotics.
I just tested negative for GBS, but I ordered a chlorhexidine rinse just in case because I am allergic to all the antibiotics they suggest using for it. They use the rinse in Europe for almost all GBS births, but my doctor said that hospitals in the US dont use it so you have to buy it yourself and deny the antibiotics.
AshBo Jankins I need to try this as I have gbs I have this in my bladder not pregnant or immune compromised just prone to utis. And currently on an antibiotic
This happened to two of my friends. One of which almost had to choose to amputate her son's limb to save him cos he got sepsis. Luckily he was saved and got through in one piece. This isn't a routine screening in the UK it cost £11 to get it done privately. I'm 100% choosing to get it done!
Vitamin c will also help strengthen your babies amniotic sac which is the best defense against positive gbs. I had it my last pregnancy and after doing a ton of research decided against the antibiotics and opted for close monitoring of the baby and would treat baby if need be so that he could have my breastmilk, not all messed up by the antibiotics. The antibiotics lead to a much increased risk for other infections including C. Diff and do not protect baby from post birth infections which made up a lot of that number. Mom and baby can experience thrush. Not worth it
Yes, this is valuable information! Thanks for adding it to the thread! Antibiotics can be lifesavers, but can also cause a lot of unwanted side effects. Every mom has to weigh their options and choose what's best for their situation!
Did the hospital give you a hard time when you went against this ? I tested positive as well but due to my religion I don’t feel it is right to put penicillins in my veins at such a vulnerable time.
I was negative for GBS 3 years ago with my first. I'm currently 37 weeks and just tested positive for GBS 🤦♀️. At this point I don't think I can do anything naturally to get it to go away. So I'm going to have to get antibiotics during labor 😔. I'm so crushed by this.

Your blood pH is tightly regulated by the body - what you eat / drink isn’t going to affect it. Certain disease states affect it, but no, sugar isn’t going to make your blood acidic.
Have been doing all of it throughout my pregnancy! Hopefully won’t test positive next week 🤞🏻 If I do, I’ll be declining antibiotics and staying at the hospital for 2 days to closely monitor the baby.
I love your videos. Thank you so much for all that you do. I had strep b my first pregnancy and I’ve asked soo many questions to multiple providers and none of them gave these tips to help along with antibiotics.
Hey Bridget, I'd love for you to expand on how to care for a newborn after receiving antibiotics. I've seen lots of lotions and drops with certain pre/ probiotics for infants and I am curious to learn more about that. When I asked my OB about IV antibiotics during labor, she said the baby is unaffected because they are "sterile" without a microbiome built up yet. Not totally sure what that means! I was GBS positive at 7 weeks, so super early--but later didn't have it... However I am labeled as "GBS positive" and "have to" have IV antibiotics during labor. I'm okay with this, I would just love to know more about how I can help my baby build up his immune system/ microbiome as soon as possible after birth. Thank you for your content! - Palmer
Came across this video bc I too was told I had GBS early in my pregnancy. I'm now 32 weeks, my Obgyn said I'm automatically considered GPS positive and will be treated with antibiotics. I was at a fence about it at first because I know the bacteria can come and go. One concern is that I am allergic to penicillin, also that my baby's immune system is going to compromise after antibiotics. I don't see a reply to your question, however did you ever find any good information on what to do to help a newborn strengthen their immune system?
@qnt859 I'm in a similar situation right now. I'm 37 weeks and I tested positive for gbs and I also have developed a uti from the gbs. Currently taking antibiotics for the uti and I feel sicker then i did before. I was told I have to have iv drip during labour bc of my gbs positive result but I've heard so many things about it I'm just not sure what to even do. My midwife's been so vague with it and very rude even, telling me off for "googling" things and said "I can see you like to google things and that it makes you worry when you do. But it's not my fault I'm researching for myself since she hasnt been giving me any important information about it. I'm also allergic to penicillin and have to have different antibiotics, also my first ever pregnancy. This whole pregnancy I've had no end of stress and no doctor or midwife's really been listening to me at all. I have no idea what to do, I'm only 19 years old and I'm having issues, I feel like it's my fault if I give my son gbs when he's born. I feel impending doom but no one's listening to me at all. I feel i don't have a choice to not take the antibiotics, they've been extremely bossy with me and basically given me no other options or information.

It’s a shame your midwife is shaming that and I’m sorry you’re having to deal with the negativity. I am on the fence trying to figure out what to do as there are so many pros and cons to both sides. My midwife does support me choosing antibiotics or not, and this is the protocol she just started me on. Thought it might give you a starting point! Jarrow Probiotics fem dophilis- take as directed. Can use intravaginally and orally. (I got mine off Amazon) Boost Vitamin C in your diet e.g. eat 2 grapefruits a day. Other good sources of Vitamin C: red peppers, oranges, and kiwi fruit. Consider supplementing 3000mg of vitamin C a day. Drink a cup of Echinacea tea each day. Alternatively 30 drops 3 times a day of Echinacea tincture could be taken. Supplement with Bee Propolis - as directed. Zinc as directed I also have been reading of taking raw garlic daily and some women put garlic and coconut oil on a pad in their underwear before bed. Also eating foods like sauerkraut, yogurt (foods high in lactobacillus)! I have a meeting with my midwife Tuesday to talk about further options. Praying all goes well and you feel calm the rest of your pregnancy 🫶🏼
@@Nigglesandshitzwanted to add, be careful starting the vitamin c until you’re done with your antibiotic round. I read the high acid can dilute the antibiotics or mess with the effectiveness. Thank you! I tested pos but my prenatal was only 5billion.. I’m going to pick up your recommendation tomorrow. Question, did your Ob let you retest? Or did you do an at home test? How many weeks pregnant were you tested and then tested again? The UK doesn't test for GBS. Only 34 countries in the world do. Why would I get antibiotics that have 100 % kill rate of good bacteria for me and my baby if there is a 1% chance of my baby having a complication. Plus just because you test negative doesn't mean you are when you deliver. Seems kind of crazy and why not test for it at delivery?
@@s.sflower 1-2% of babies that are colonized with gbs, and that is only 50% of babies whose mothers test positive for it. So .05%-1% of babies whose mother tested positive will have treatable complications within a few days of birth.
I had been taking a probiotic during my pregnancy but was told by my obgyn that they havent been safely tested during pregnancy and that taking one was essentially "medical testing on my unborn baby" and that they dont recommend taking them since they dont recommend testing on unborn babies, etc. It left a bad taste in my mouth (the way she made me feel about taking them) so I switched Drs. But now I'm super paranoid about it!
Mainstream doctors aren’t taught about nutrition so I wouldn’t listen to them about advice on most things relating to nutrition. It’s best to do your own research and go with what you are comfortable with. There are some known things to avoid due to risks but as for nutrition, many doctors just don’t have a clue.
Find a new OB or switch to a decent midwife team. Midwives generally view pregnancy as more of a healthy, natural process that should be supported than a medical problem that should be managed with interventions.
This is just crazy how some doctors don't recommend taking probiotics during pregnancy because they haven't been fully tested while pushing pregnant women to get mRna vaccines that haven't gone through long term trials and will never be tested on pregnant women 😣
My doula has asked me to use hibiclens antibacterial wash with a peri bottle to clean myself around my vagina around 35 to not test positive, is this a good idea? I am 34 weeks

Hi Bridget, I am 37 weeks and tested positive for GBS. My last baby’s labor was only 3 hours long and I’m afraid that I will not get to the hospital in time for this one to get the antibiotics she needs. Do you have any advice for me? My OBGYN doesn’t seem concerned about and has just told me not to worry, but I can’t seem to get it out of my head that my baby could be in danger.
I heard that giving antibiotics during labor can cause antibiotic resistance in newborns...since not every baby will even get GBS if the mom has it, im choosing not to do antibiotics....
GBS was found in my urine early on (1st trimester). My OB is going to go ahead and give me the antibiotics during labor. So, she's skipping the actual screening for GBS since she found it earlier.
I had small amounts of GBS in my urine in my 1st trimester but not enough to be clinically significant so they ran the test again and it came back negative but the OB mentioned potentially giving me antibiotics anyway during labour however if I can avoid it I would definitely like to so I will ask to get screened again later
Same thing happened to me and this is my 3rd pregnancy and the only pregnancy that ive had it. I was at the time using vaginal progesterone suppositories for ivf and it was my 1st pregnancy ive had to do that. I really really dont want to have antibiotics during labor.

I am GBS positive at 37 weeks, I really am hoping for a non medicated natural birth. I am planning to take probiotics and vitamin C. Can I request re-test around 39 weeks and is it allowed in the US hospitals to deny antibiotics and rather opt for monitoring your newborn ?
Hi, my doctor kept dissuading me from re-testing and I couldn't convince her. She basically said even if the retest is negative they would give antibiotics to be safe. At the hospital no one seemed to remember about GBS surprisingly, but I was a little scared at the last moment and I told them about it so they gave me antibiotics.
When I asked to be retested, my doctor went into all the reasons why that was silly and tried to reassure me that antibiotics were fine, but at the end reluctantly agreed to let me retest at 39 weeks because you as the patient have the right to request or decline whatever you want, but I was still positive unfortunately. I asked about a chlorhexidine rinse during labor that is the standard in Europe, but they said even if I do that they’ll treat it as if I had done nothing because I declined antibiotics, and I’ll be strongly advised to stay 48 hours extra for monitoring. Again, you have the power. They can’t force you to stay or be injected with anything, but they can strongly shame/guilt trip you and mark you as AMA (against medical advice) which could affect whether they want to continue appointments and caring for you, and they threaten that insurance may not cover your bills then either… really, the system is set up to bully you when you dare to question anything or request more options and knowledge. But again, they can’t make you do anything, even if the language they use makes it sound like it’s required (“we require”, “if *blank* then you will…”, etc)
**I know this comment was posted a year ago so you may have found the answer to this question already, but figured I’d reply in case anyone else became curious of the same thing! ❤** It should not affect home birth for those who are positive with GBS, I’m currently pregnant with my first with a planned home birth, and was diagnosed yesterday with GBS. My midwife informed me that it won’t impact our home birth experience, and that she’d just be sure to have the antibiotic drip on hand in case I decided to use it during the labor process. She was also very informative on the effects of the antibiotics and the fact that it not only takes the bad bacteria but the good bacteria we want the baby to take as well, and did not pressure me either way on what choice was best for me as I wanted to do more research first. Thankful for her and her support! I know other midwives may have different ways they do their work and what they provide may be different, though. So, hopefully this information is accurate!
Because that would be A LOT of unnecessary treatment of antibiotics in healthy women and infants. It’s a controversial treatment to begin with. This is why the UK doesn’t even bother screening. Most babies exposed to b strep go on to be healthy with zero complications. Antibiotic resistance is dangerous from over treatment from this just like this. We also worry about side effects and long term consequences on infants from interrupting important immune system development. At some point we will have a vaccine for b strep and this prophylactic nonsense will be a thing of the past. 30% of women and infants exposed to antibiotics, of whom A LARGE PERCENT don’t need them, should be motivation enough.
I’ve had EXTREME itching that feels like a yeast infection but my obgyn says it’s my overgrowth of step b or gbs.... I’ve already had my first round of antibiotics... the itching still persists .. any tips ?
Hi Nilla, hope you are better now, but in case I usually peal a little piece of garlic (it is a great antibiotic) and take it like an aspirine everyday for a week. In the past I took it for a strong urinal infections every 8 to 10 hours for 3 days, exactly like an antibiotic. As always worked great plus my skin turns radiant and pretty.
@@mariajoseboteroocampo2765 do you take 1 cloves garlic eberyday?i just so scary..this is my first pregnancy and 37weeks..my doctor just tell me and positive GBS
Hola@@nuramirah1422 yes, one everyday, there are not side effects or anything to worry. Garlic is a superfood and totally natural. Your skin will star to look prettier as well, however it is eliminated through the skin in the body so can can give you some odor, just to be aware.
Hi there I did all these and I'm positive too. Please don't feel that way. There are millions of microorganism living in your vagina. This is its just one thing they happen to test. It's really no big deal
Same. I’m still going to try to get rid of it before labor, so I switched to garden of life probiotic which is stronger than the 5bil cfu one I was taking prior to my positive test. Thinking about taking garlic and drinking kefir too. Really want to retest and see if I can avoid antibiotics. The hospital can do a rapid GBS test.
Is GBS Curable? I was told by someone that once you have it, you can’t get rid of it. They also told me that the antibiotic is used to make sure the baby doesn’t get GBS if pregnant.
Some women test positive early on in pregnancy but then can test negative later. So it may be more easy to get if you’ve already had it, but it definitely comes and goes. Antibiotics is the automatic treatment in America, but natural methods such as probiotics and a change in diet work too. Europe uses an antibacterial rinse of diluted chlorhexidine during labor instead of antibiotics and studies show it can be just as effective. In short, there’s no one size fits all approach and I wish America’s medical system gave us more options and education, but unfortunately you have to dig for a lot of this info yourself
It's just a bacteria in your gut, it's not that big of a deal. But it can be when you have a baby, but not everyone who tests positive will harm their baby. It's a small chance
I got tested positive for GBS but I am allergic to amoxicillin & penicillin I’m 37 weeks but what are they going to give me during labor if I can’t take those antibiotics??
C-section would have no effect in regards to GBS. Not that C-sections are safer than vaginal births, but in regards infecting your baby with GBS, c-section is a safer way of preventing any GBS from reaching your baby because then they do not travel through the vaginal canal and the GBS has no way of making its way to the baby’s mucous membranes.
I was wondering I just switched to the Baby and me prenatal vitamins and I noticed there was chamomile flower...my midwife told me not to drink chamomile tea because of an aspirin / blood thinning like effect. Is it much less than the tea in this vitamin or are they similar? I’d like to use them but worried about chamomile
Is there a way I can message you privately? I was GBS negative with my first pregnancy and now with my second I believe I’ve tested positive. Going to confirm with my OB but I’m just confused as to how I could be positive this time. Crazy to hear how it can be contracted through food, water or other things.
As a nurse, I want you to know it’s perfectly normal to have a GBS overgrowth down there. It is a bacteria that already lives on the body, but does not necessarily belong/originate in the vaginal area. Simply being pregnant weakens the immune system and can cause people to feel symptoms, but for the most part it’s asymptomatic. I am also pregnant and have GBS. If I wasn’t a nurse, and didn’t see how common it is in the labor and delivery units at the hospital, I’d be freaking out, but trust me when I say it’s very common. You aren’t alone. There are tons of different bacterias that live in or on specific parts of our bodies. While they belong and colonize in those parts, they sometimes make their way to other parts of the body where they don’t belong. These things accidentally happen and it’s not anyone’s fault. As this girl says, so many women deliver healthy babies despite GBS. I hope this gives you some peace.

Processed sugar is the thing to look out for and limit! Sugars from REAL whole foods are generally fine, but like 3babies 1arm mentioned, if you have gestational diabetes, you'll need to limit even natural sugars.
sprinkle on the panties?? I mean, you can buy vaginal probiotics... And they are not the same as the ones for the gut. This sounds highly suspicious to me
Hey Bridget, my OB told me the antibiotics don't harm the good bacteria. Do I have to take the antibiotics or can I refuse? I think I need to do a bit more research because I feel a little uneasy about this. She did not swab she told me that I tested positive in my first urine sample. Since you are saying that it changes throughout pregnancy now I am skeptical and don't know what to do. I'm 36 weeks...
So, testing positive in urine sample indicates a very high colonization level that is unlikely to go completely away over the course of pregnancy, which is why they generally consider a positive urine test a fairly definitive sign it will be present during labor as well.

I hope this can help!
Unfortunately that's not unique to Florida, that's everywhere in the US. The good news is people are starting to wake up and go more natural!
❤thank you for taking your time to allow anyone suffering from GBS and I lost my child it's been 35 yrs and I am still living with it

Thank you for this informative video!
Same here, 37 weeks and just found out I had it, too. Quite sad about it :( Hope our babies will be fine ❤

Just an update. Found out today I tested negative for GBS YAY!!!! 🎉♥️🌈
Wow only 1% chance
Did this happen after antibiotics
Vitamin c will also help strengthen your babies amniotic sac which is the best defense against positive gbs. I had it my last pregnancy and after doing a ton of research decided against the antibiotics and opted for close monitoring of the baby and would treat baby if need be so that he could have my breastmilk, not all messed up by the antibiotics. The antibiotics lead to a much increased risk for other infections including C. Diff and do not protect baby from post birth infections which made up a lot of that number. Mom and baby can experience thrush. Not worth it
Breeandfree I will be looking into this more. Thank you for sharing that. ✌️♥️
Yes, this is valuable information! Thanks for adding it to the thread! Antibiotics can be lifesavers, but can also cause a lot of unwanted side effects. Every mom has to weigh their options and choose what's best for their situation!

So .05%-1% of babies whose mother tested positive will have treatable complications within a few days of birth.
are there any probiotic supplements I can take while pregnant?
I had been taking a probiotic during my pregnancy but was told by my obgyn that they havent been safely tested during pregnancy and that taking one was essentially "medical testing on my unborn baby" and that they dont recommend taking them since they dont recommend testing on unborn babies, etc.
It left a bad taste in my mouth (the way she made me feel about taking them) so I switched Drs. But now I'm super paranoid about it!
Yeah, I probably would have switched docs too. She could have expressed her concern in a less disturbing way.

Hello how was the process?? Any advice? I’m 37 weeks as well positive
Does Gbs cause infertility? I am 23 years old and i am gbs positive. i want to have a baby next year. Thanks!
No.
No
Bridget Teyler have you actually gone through this experience
My OB told me yellow discharge can be present when you have GBS? is this true?
Yes
Um ANNNND WHEN YOU LEAK AMNIOTIC FLUID....tf....your doc is a moron.
If being GBS positive will that effect if you can have a home birth or not?
**I know this comment was posted a year ago so you may have found the answer to this question already, but figured I’d reply in case anyone else became curious of the same thing! ❤**
It should not affect home birth for those who are positive with GBS, I’m currently pregnant with my first with a planned home birth, and was diagnosed yesterday with GBS.
Genuinely confused as to why everyone doesn’t receive the antibiotics if you can test negative for it but still could have it at the time of birth?!
@@EricaGriffin wow thank you for that info I had no idea!!
I have the same question!
My doctor said that it is most likely to come back
Thank you so much!!!
Monolaurin is great too for GBS
Is this a anitbotic or probiotic?
@@lauratorres6453 antibiotic
I’ve had EXTREME itching that feels like a yeast infection but my obgyn says it’s my overgrowth of step b or gbs.... I’ve already had my first round of antibiotics... the itching still persists .. any tips ?
Itching all over your body? Or down below?
I did all of this and still tested positive 😭 I feel so gross
Hi there I did all these and I'm positive too. Please don't feel that way. There are millions of microorganism living in your vagina. This is its just one thing they happen to test. It's really no big deal
Same. I’m still going to try to get rid of it before labor, so I switched to garden of life probiotic which is stronger than the 5bil cfu one I was taking prior to my positive test. Thinking about taking garlic and drinking kefir too. Really want to retest and see if I can avoid antibiotics. The hospital can do a rapid GBS test.
So probiotics contain streptococcus so I don't see this to be completely true
There are different strains of strep though. This is specifically group b.
Is GBS Curable? I was told by someone that once you have it, you can’t get rid of it. They also told me that the antibiotic is used to make sure the baby doesn’t get GBS if pregnant.
It comes and goes. So you can have it with this pregnancy but you might not have it with the next pregnancy.
@@s.elizabeth1753 do you know the chances of baby getting it if the mother gets antibiotics during labor?
I got tested positive for GBS but I am allergic to amoxicillin & penicillin I’m 37 weeks but what are they going to give me during labor if I can’t take those antibiotics??
Decline antibiotics, stay in hospital to monitor baby. Just because you test positive doesn't guarantee it'll harm baby
@s.elizabeth1753 what are the cons with taking the antibiotics?
What about having a c section and positive for gbs?
I'm pretty sure this would have no effect on the baby, since they pick up the bacteria as they travel through the vaginal canal :)
I tested positive at 35 weeks and was wondering the same thing...
You would have antibiotics anyway because its a c-section so it kind of doesn't make a difference in the end!
How Abt taking antibiotics it is safe ? During first trimester
What if you’re not pregnant and have this?
Yea
It’s just BV
@@giannavillacres1051 I'm relieved to read this. I'm due very soon (7th of November) this is my 3rd pregnancy but my first time being told I'm positive with GBS. You can only imagine how nerve wracked I got once I starting researching about this, especially the fact that the baby can get side effect of the antibiotics affecting there gut flora. What insight do you have regarding these (antibiotics)side effects on baby? I'm so overwhelmed about my options to what's safest for me and especially my unborn baby.

Can I still try and get rid of the GBS even at 21 weeks?? Btw thank you so much for your channel! You very much informed me on GBS😊
Same I’m 22 and I got group b strep. Need to get rid of it if possible
I find you awesome thanks
Is there home test for GBS?
I know you said to limit sugar to help prevent, would you consider dates in this category or processed sugar only?
Allison Sims dates are a whole food, as long as you don’t have GD then go to town!
Processed sugar is the thing to look out for and limit! Sugars from REAL whole foods are generally fine, but like 3babies 1arm mentioned, if you have gestational diabetes, you'll need to limit even natural sugars.
Kimchi!
sprinkle on the panties?? I mean, you can buy vaginal probiotics... And they are not the same as the ones for the gut. This sounds highly suspicious to me
B stands for B not beta. It is beta-hemolytic though.
Would kombucha be ok?
Yes! Kombucha is great during pregnancy. You just don't want too much mostly because of the sugars.
@@BridgetTeyler ok, thank you!
Some of these foods scream acid reflux 😫
You should be comfortable asking for a retest.
Antibiotics kill EVERYTHING and on top of that if some remain they are no immune to the Antibiotics used. This actually happens often.

Don’t be worried I was positive early in my pregnancy then positive again at 38 weeks I was given antibiotics both times first time cleared after antibiotics waiting for results for this time round but I will be given antibiotics intravenous during labour everything will be okay after birth they will make sure baby hasn’t got the infection by keeping an eye on him for 12 hours I was worried but the odds he will have it is quite low.
