03:14 Speaking as a metal Musician/Mixer/Producer ...this tip works for Acoustic and Clean guitars, but will make Distorted/Overdriven guitars sound muddy, if anything you want to be cutting this area (300-600hz) in metal (less important on the side image but in the center, for sure cutting this area is likely too happen, unless you like to mask all your upper mids...then go for it lool)
hello and thank you for your videos. they have been most informative and helpful. I have question: when you separate the vocals into mid and side after duplicating them do you put the vocals in a summing stack or in a pre fader bus and blend the effect in?
Thanks for watching! I typically use a pre-fader bus. Sometimes, I'll also just duplicate the vocal and isolate the side image to process it separately from the original track.
@@sonnyleesmith hey, that depends a lot of what your goal is. For example i have a synth which i want to be bright in the stereo field, well noticable and really in the face of the listener side saturation is a cool thing. Yeah side sat. can work on vocals as well of course. maybe not in the lead, but on backings maybe. 🙂 I also using saturation for the side signal on my master chain as well. For that i am using the Exciter from Izotope. There you can work with mid and side signals. 👍😃 Hope that helps. 🙂🙂🙂
should i cut the lows according to the Key of the song ..like for example..if my song is on F ..then should i apply a low cut on 80hz or whichever is F on side image
Anybody know how to duplicate tracks in FL? I recorded vocals so should I just make another copy of each clip and stack them under the original clips throughout the whole mix and then send them (the originals + copies) to different mixer tracks? I know how to that but I feel like Sage means something else by "duplicate" here.
like $150 dollars. its got a lot of features even for the price range. if you have the money and can make use of those features then you wont regret it. try out the trial first

I would like to say throughout my mixing journey. Midside eq is the hardest concept to understand. I’m starting to get it finally tho. 👍
I feel it
@@Otis_Isaacs why, is it so useful?
@Amos hauber, the video? Or the comment I commented on?
Bro it’s literally an EQ for the upfront sounds and an EQ for the background sounds why is that hard to understand ?
To the point, clear and no BS. Great channel my dude.

Awesome video
I also do side saturation sometimes. Can be very powerful. 😃🔥
In what applications? Vocals? I’d be interested to hear your methods

It wouldn’t hurt but depending on the instrument. I would say cut the lows out entirely. Unless it’s a sub bass or 808
Don’t cut, shelf the lows
Don’t eq to hz and key; eq to fundamental harmonics,
@@Clamjahahghff Thanks
Is the song that you are using for the last couple Videos already out?
Why does his Hi hats and Claps sound so good, i use fl and i dont know how i can make the Luger Clap Sound this clean,

It’s pretty much what you said, there’s a duplicate button in logic (Sage’s daw) which does exactly that so I guess that’s what he’s referring to
@@tarunsuresh6866 Perfect, thank you so much!

Great video, thanks!
How did u make a channel strip for mid and side?
You can use the free plugin MSED to isolate the mid and side. Thanks for watching!
How much is the KRICHOFF EQ?
don't buy software because it's used in a tutorial but use the ones you have and after you figure it out you can then purchase it.

Why does people always think brighter is better? aka more "open"? The tricks shown are good, but how they used them made audio....
I'm a fan of brighter, but I get what you're saying - it comes down to personal preference, so brighter isn't always better.
You guys are amazing over here 🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡
Awesome! Thanks so much for leaving a comment!

so, goodbye Proq-3? lol
With all these techniques a buss like a stereo track needs to be duplicated.
All dance floors and festivals are mono. Don't ruin the cake with too much icing on it.
Guess is depends on the genre then!
