This was the first song written and arranged by the band itself that was approved by management and they haven’t looked back since. yes - BAND MAID is an amazing band. and drummer akane hirose is a beast. as a matter of fact her nickname is the gorilla - and she loves bananas so that is another thing that gives her the nickname. misa on bass - another beast , and kanami on lead guitar that writes most of the music - the trend continues continues with vocalist saiki and rhythm guitarist and backup vocalist miku - who formed the band after working in a japanese maid cafe - and we now have had BAND MAID for 11 years !

yeah I (& many other fans) have flown multiple times to see Band Maid Most recently me & GF flew 6K miles (oHIo to Japan) to see them play with The Warning in Tokyo Spent 10 glorious days around Japan. Was an amazing concert & trip! ♥
I stumbled across Band-Maid about 3 years ago and quickly realized that every new song I sampled was just as astounding as the last. It doesn't matter what they try their hand at, they nail it every time. Band-Maid is one of those once in a lifetime phenomena: one of those groups that are so amazingly good that people will remember them and keep playing them for years. I saw them live twice last year, I joined their fan club so I could watch their live streams, and I've started collecting their albums and videos. I just received a Blu-ray disc of a Band-Maid concert from 2018 and the sound quality is AMAZING: Bass, Drums, guitars, vocals are brilliant. I can't recommend this band enough.

Without losing their core sound, Band-Maid will rock you hard, sway your soul with a ballad, soothe your nerves with acoustic, blitz your brain with punk and prog. Their lead composer (Kanami, lead guitar) really knows how to construct a song and layer instruments & vocals together to make it work on multiple levels. They have one of the best rhythm sections ever in MISA (bass) and Akane (drums). Saiki is a phenomenal lead singer and performer; and Miku is the main lyricist and rhythm guitarist (and much more as you will learn). Fast and furious: Hate, Warning, Blooming, Shambles; slower and balladic: Daydreaming, Gion-Cho, endless story; acoustic: Catharsis. Actually, who am I kidding, just select anything on their channel at random.

Kanami-san (lead guitarist) in particular and Miku-chan (rhythm guitarist) as lyricist. Assisted in the lyrics by Saiki-san (lead vocalist). The track itself had treatments done by MISA-san (bassist) and Akane-san (drummer) for their parts.
*BAND-MAID* true passion is performing live in front of a crowd, they toured the United States in 2022 and 2023 and the *BAND-MAID* community are so friendly so if your worried about affording a ticket they will always have a spare one or locate one. In addition they like to put the young people at the rail think that *BAND-MAID* would rather see them then grumpy old men like me. 🤪😜
And they just get better and better! Seriously. The best band on earth! If over a 100 fantastic songs is anything to go by. I'm a middle aged guy and no band has taken over my life as much as them. The sheer number of favorite songs beats out my next 3-4 favorite bands put together! I just check them out live. One of my favorites is Puzzle. For MV I'll always say Dice, but you can pretty much choose and random.
I found them in February 2020, just before Japan was locked down. For the next two years, they supported my life while restrictions were put in place. It's never too late to find them. I can only be grateful that they are living in the same era as me.

My favourite is currently "Corallium", but here is just a quite random selection of songs: For some very special LIVE videos try "Freedom", "Corallium", "Play", "Real Existence" and Endless Story. With "Moratorium" (Live at Zepp), "Rinne" (MV) and "Dice" you can hear more hard rock while more catchy songs are "Choose me" (MV) and this one, "Alone" (MV). And if you want to hear some ballads then maybe "About Us" (MV) and "Daydreaming" (MV) are good picks. But don't miss some of their instrumentals like "From now on" (MV) and "Onset" (Live). And finally a very special mind blowing live performance is "Manners/Blackhole" (Official Online Live). At least these songs are needed to get the full story of Band Maid! And there is more: For example the songs with Miku in lead, their christmas acoustic concert and the 'cover band' Band-Maiko ;-) They have rock, pop punk, funk, jazz, prog and more elements in their reportoire! Especially their earlier works are pop punkish About the Maid thing? They use many elements from japanese 'Maid Cafes' where Miku once worked: They call their concerts "Servings" (okyu ji), their audience "Masters and princesses" (goshujin-sama to ojou-sama) and each concert is sweetened by (mostly) Mikus "Magic Spell Time" (Omajinai), a 'magical' moment for everyone ... full of energy! And of course there is their outfit which changed alot since their early days but at least Miku is staying with this classic Maid outfit. Always great to see someone first finding this band. They are the best!! This was their very first song that they composed to be put on a record. They have kicked ass since 11 years ago this very day.
The collaboration with The Warning was fun, but this is what Band-Maid are like on their own. Not just Misa on bass. All of these ladies are at the top of their game all the time. Mostly all slightly different, but not one bad song. Thanks for the reaction (UK). We are fans of Def Leppard too.

Once they were left "Alone" by their record / management companies to create what they wanted, well... look what they did. Alone's somewhat sad, heavy yet empowering story (topics Miku's known for writing about), up against Kanami's up-tempo, complex yet rockin' music is quintessential Band-Maid. BAND-MAID is an important influence and contributor to the music industry with a continuous, growing worldwide fanbase. Welcome to Band-Maid Princess! Here is a quick introduction to these amazing ladies Miku Kobato "Little Pigeon" - band founder - rhythm guitar and second vocals. Main lyricist. Claims to be an 810 year old pigeon and makes pigeon noises when she speaks. Po! Very good at poker, really into horses and horse racing. Very clumsy, may fall into ditches. Has the energy of an average nuclear power station mixed with weapons grade cuteness. A comedian onstage - literally! She is the heart and soul of the band. Saiki Atsumi "The Ice Queen" - Lead vocalist and frontwoman. The youngest member at 30. Into train spotting and collecting trainers (sports shoes). Very girly, into doing her nails and is a fashion icon. Really into Baseball and the Hanshin Tigers. Don't mess with her you will lose. But she has a heart of gold and a killer dry sense of humour. Recently started writing lyrics. Has final say on songs. Kanami Tono - "Kanamincho" but usually just "Mincho" for short. Lead guitar and an absolute genius songwriter. Total riff machine. Has two personas. Normally a tiny cute shy very polite lady who seems very innocent (the band have to explain dirty jokes to her). Until she puts on her guitar. As the band say: "then she gets quite violent" - she turns into the shredding rock star she is. Takes guitar off, back to the little girl. Likes cakes, coffee and is totally infatuated by Saiki. She adores Saiki very much, to everyone's amusement. Akane Hirose - "The Gorilla" on Drums. Seems to be the sane member of the band, but is actually the band clown. Has an enormous appetite, seen eating in a lot of MV's. Eats a lot of bananas including on stage, hence the nickname. But she is terrible at actual cooking. Usually has a big grin on her face while drumming manically, Akane was also a DJ (under the name DJ Achi) and likes dancing and goofing with MISA. She also plays trombone! MISA (all caps, no last name) "The Barefoot Assassin" on bass. An absolute bass prodigy, MISA is very shy onstage (and a total clown offstage with Akane). Nickname comes from the fact she plays barefoot and looks like an assassin. Because of shyness often drinks onstage, you can often spot a bottle of Jim Beam on her amp. She drinks it neat. Lately drinking more beer than whiskey though, good girl. Doesn't say much, but when she does it's usually totally hilarious! At a lot of concerts you will hear the fans chanting MISA! MISA! MISA! which has become a slogan.

See them do 2 songs live at Lollapalooza Chicago festival. They put them on bottom of the bill, organizers and film crew were not prepared for what was to happen. Poor video editing but the Maids stole the whole day, and the crowd went mad for the Maids. The whole set is up here to enjoy, but here is the part where totally won the crowd. Where the 2 songs join with a drum bridge . So don't stop there as is the is their moment in the sun. Band Maid Live is a whole different animal ... anyone can fake it in the studio with multiple takes... but to bring those songs Live .. onstage and kill it pretty much every performance is what makes Band Maid a cut above the rest.... They use many elements from japanese 'Maid Cafes' where Miku once worked: They call their concerts "Servings" (okyu ji), their audience "Masters and princesses" (goshujin-sama to ojou-sama) and each concert is sweetened by (mostly) Mikus "Magic Spell Time" (Omajinai), a 'magical' moment for everyone ... full of energy! And of course there is their outfit which changed alot since their early days but at least Miku is staying with this classic Maid outfit. Always great to see someone first finding this band. They are the best!! This was their very first song that they composed to be put on a record. They have kicked ass since 11 years ago this very day.

Miku Kobato "Little Pigeon" - band founder - rhythm guitar and second vocals. Main lyricist. Claims to be an 810 year old pigeon and makes pigeon noises when she speaks. Po! Very good at poker, really into horses and horse racing. Very clumsy, may fall into ditches. Has the energy of an average nuclear power station mixed with weapons grade cuteness. A comedian onstage - literally! She is the heart and soul of the band.
Saiki Atsumi "The Ice Queen" - Lead vocalist and frontwoman. The youngest member at 30. Into train spotting and collecting trainers (sports shoes). Very girly, into doing her nails and is a fashion icon. Really into Baseball and the Hanshin Tigers. Don't mess with her you will lose. But she has a heart of gold and a killer dry sense of humour. Recently started writing lyrics. Has final say on songs.
Kanami Tono - "Kanamincho" but usually just "Mincho" for short. Lead guitar and an absolute genius songwriter. Total riff machine. Has two personas. Normally a tiny cute shy very polite lady who seems very innocent (the band have to explain dirty jokes to her). Until she puts on her guitar. As the band say: "then she gets quite violent" - she turns into the shredding rock star she is. Takes guitar off, back to the little girl. Likes cakes, coffee and is totally infatuated by Saiki. She adores Saiki very much, to everyone's amusement.
Akane Hirose - "The Gorilla" on Drums. Seems to be the sane member of the band, but is actually the band clown. Has an enormous appetite, seen eating in a lot of MV's. Eats a lot of bananas including on stage, hence the nickname. But she is terrible at actual cooking. Usually has a big grin on her face while drumming manically, Akane was also a DJ (under the name DJ Achi) and likes dancing and goofing with MISA. She also plays trombone!
MISA (all caps, no last name) "The Barefoot Assassin" on bass. An absolute bass prodigy, MISA is very shy onstage (and a total clown offstage with Akane). Nickname comes from the fact she plays barefoot and looks like an assassin. Because of shyness often drinks onstage, you can often spot a bottle of Jim Beam on her amp. She drinks it neat. Lately drinking more beer than whiskey though, good girl. Doesn't say much, but when she does it's usually totally hilarious! At a lot of concerts you will hear the fans chanting MISA! MISA! MISA! which has become a slogan.

See them do 2 songs live at Lollapalooza Chicago festival. They put them on bottom of the bill, organizers and film crew were not prepared for what was to happen. Poor video editing but the Maids stole the whole day, and the crowd went mad for the Maids. The whole set is up here to enjoy, but here is the part where totally won the crowd. Where the 2 songs join with a drum bridge . So don't stop there as is the is their moment in the sun. And it was hell hot at 1pm, and they did THIS on 4 hours sleep, after a previous nights late show.
