Band Maid have been going with the same members for 12 years now. I personally have never disliked any of the songs they play. Yet they play so many different types of rock. Alway great live and unique. A band that is just inspirational.
11yrs together same line up. Over 140 songs. Egos harnessed in service of the song. 5 women bent on World Domination! BANDMAID is the greatest proper rock and roll band of the 21st century IMHO. It's a crazy statement. Was Mozart the world's greatest composer of his era? He'll yeah! The farther we get away from that time the more clearly we see the immensity of his talent. Few would argue with the above assessment. Everytime I write "IMHO" after BandMaid is the greatest proper rock and roll band of the 21st century I feel like a liar. IMHO my ass! IMHO water is wet. BandMaid rules right now. 66 years old here. The future will prove us right.
Kanami, the lead guitarist, just became the 1st Japanese person to get a signature PRS Custom 24 Presented by Paul Reed Smith at a special event where all the other MAIDS were present. It was very emotional.
@@E-LawReacts The PRS is pretty popular in Japan. Kanami uses one, Tomo-zo from Gacharic Spin does, and Ryo from Maximum the Hormone does, too. The new custom PRS is kind of goldenrod, and has a tiger-stripe look, with the wood grain. I'll miss the green one and the maroon ones, since those are the ones she played when I saw BAND-MAID live. And, seriously, one of the best live bands of the century.
This is early Band-Maid, basically the first song written by the band that the label approved for publishing. Kanami, the band's songwriter and lead guitarist, was still somewhat of a novice songwriter when she wrote this. Today tho she's a beast, and Band-Maid's catalog over time has grown progressively complex, diverse and nuanced. As an orchestra teacher, I think you'd really enjoy this band's incredible catalog. As someone already mentioned, the MV "From now on" is for many fans a modern rock masterpiece. Prior to this, Kanami and the band was commissioned to write a song ("Sense") for an anime ending; the studio requested an orchestral introduction to the song, and so Kanami had to study how to compose one. She mentioned that her training for this was applied later to the song "From now on." Thus, given your profession, you may enjoy this song and spot the orchestral arrangements that Kanami may have used.
Music teachers, students, engineers and nerds get plenty to enjoy while listening to Band Maid. Cute, fun aesthetic, but deadly serious aggressive progressive arrangements. You want to analyze? “Blooming,” “From Now On,” “Moratorium” Take your pick. Take your time. Have good headphones 🎧
Welcome to the wonderful world of Band-Maid. Always fun fun when musicians stumble across these ladies (thanks Roger!). I used to feel the same about foreign language songs but their music totally drew me in and not understanding the words simply didn't matter, especially on the first listen (after all, I didn't understand the English words of an awful lot of hard rock songs when I first heard them). I find it too distracting to really even pay attention to the subtitles when they have them until I've gone through the song a number of times just trying to pick out all of the layered parts. Impressive compositions executed by top tier musicians. Sometimes the stars just align and this band is one of those times. Enjoy the ride, I know I have!
By the second half of the track, I was just so drawn in that the non-English didn’t even register anymore. That’s quality musicianship right there for sure!
Band-Maid songs tend to be surprising. You won't guess what's coming next but after you hear it, you'll think 'hey, that worked really well' or 'that's actually the way it was supposed to be'. Listen to any song from them - everything is good.
11 years and 130+ songs of pure greatness. They have it all..Passion Work Heart Talent Groove. Magical band, amazing musicians, best friends. For me..Kanami Tōno, lead guitarist and composer, is the most impressive musician of 21st Century, maybe even ever. Pure genius as a composer and true rock n’ Roll Star on stage. Thank you for reacting greatest band of our time 🔥❤️ Greets from Finland 🇫🇮🤘
Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog mayhem to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 12th year with the original line up. And they are the best live band I have ever witnessed! Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). They take the maid café concept literally. They call their concerts "servings" and their fans "Masters and Princesses". Oh, and Miku is an 810 year old small pigeon. Welcome to the pigeon hole Po!
Although Kanami-san mentioned that she would only like to make music with Band-Maid, if she ever decides to score Films, she’d be very successful at it. She is a classically trained pianist.
The lead guitarist, Kanami Tono, wrote this song. It was the first song by her that the band's management accepted. Until this song they had rejected everything she wrote. After this song? Nearly everything was written by her. This song was the first stone of the avalanche of songs by Kanami Tono -- lead guitarist and composer for Band-Maid. Kanami has played piano since she was four, and grew up with Chopin, until taking up guitar at high school.
I have to recommend the MV for Blooming - Kanami (Lead Guitarist, Saiki's Number one Fan) essentially gave all the other Maids ( Akane - Gorilla on the Drums, Miku - Rhythm Guitar, SpokesPigeon, Backup Vocals, MISA - Barefoot Bass Assassin, Saiki - Vocals, Ice Queen) Homework to make Blooming. She tasked them to write a part of a song they'd like to perform someday, and when they all eventually turned their parts in, she combined it into one amazing song!
As a person with an orchestral background I think you’re going to love this band. This song was fairly early in their career, they’ve grown a lot in the years since then. If you want to hear Kanami deploy some controlled chaos and just a wall of beautiful sound. Check out Blackhole. You may also just enjoy an instrumental like From Now On to hear them write pure music.
Black hole? Do you think he is ready for that song? 😅 Of course he has to do the double feature of Manners AND Blackhole (online live), a great combo of two very different songs performed during COVID. But before that it's a good idea to check out their LIVE stuff in front of an audience, Moratorium for example.
Welcome to Band Maid !!!!!! You don't realize it yet but you just heard the best current rock band on the planet !!!! They are a genre less band that will blow you away !!!

Beat rock band on the planet. Welcome to a world of discovery. Watch DOMINATION live, watch anything live, that's when they're at their best. Incredible live band. If you want drums watch FREEDOM live. The more you see and hear the more you'll realize how good they really are.
I think you'll like ' Forbidden Tale' from their newly released 'Epic Narratives' Album. That bass tone has even got better over the years and is pretty much always high in the mix. All of them have now levelled up in every aspect of what they do and Saiki (vocals) who I really liked from the get go is now my all time favourite frontwoman.
Pop=Punk is the perfect description for many of their songs. Saw them live twice last year on their US tour. If your interested in seeing more of their musicianship I would recommend the instrumentals From Now On, Onset and Without Holding Back. Thank you for checking out our Maids. subbed.
A band unlike any other in the world. So much inspiration for all musicians. Their musical expression is so overwhelming that after a few songs, you want care that you don't understand the lyrics.
Oh definitely a wide array of influence! The pop punk riff was what stuck out on that first listen. Judging by all the comments, I’ll be doing another band maid asap to dive in deeper.
Introductions are in order. Miku "small pigeon" Kobato-founder/rhythm gtr./vocal/lyricist Saiki "the ice queen" Atsumi-voczl/lyrics Kanami "mincho" Tono-lead gtr/composer/backing vocal. Akane "gorilla" Hirose-drums. MISA"the barefoot assassin"-bass. Here, check out an instrumental. They have more too. And, they are best live so get to "Hate" soon. th-cam.com/video/baeHeNO-cBk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=5oaVM-S9qVyG7WPF
Great reaction! I don't speak Japanese either, but these girls won me over. They are not a one trick pony, they have much harder songs, emotional ballads, technically impressive instrumental tracks, they also play acoustic concerts. They even have a different version of the band called BAND-MAIKO that mixes in traditional Japanese instruments.
This is one of Band-Maid's first compositions. Since then they made a ton of changes: The bassist moved to a five string, the rhythm guitarist received a sponsorship from Zemaitis, who built their very first signature model for her, and the lead guitarist is a spokesperson for PRS, who just this week released a limited signature edition for her. Every member of this band seems to spend their every spare moment practicing, because they seem to get better with each new album release. Check these out: "Puzzle" live at Tokyo Garden Theater. "Moratorium", "The one", "Hate?", "Awkward", "I'll", or just pick songs at random from their TH-cam channel; they're a songwriting machine.
Not that any Band-Maid video is bad but you should always try to watch the live video of a song as it is then when these ladies shine and you see the true greatness of them. With 3 of the best musicians in the business (Akane - drums, Kanami - Guitar & Misa - Bass) and an amazing singing duo with Saiki & Miku they will just amaze you and always expect the unexpected in their compositions.
Brother welcome 🤘 Always appreciate reactions by those with a higher level of music appreciation and knowledge, looking forward to more BM (Filled out a request reaction for BM's FORBIDDEN TALE, an interesting song you may like)
Their live performances are even better because you can see on their faces just how much fun they are having. An example is Freedom (live) where they are all grinning, and the drummer does a great solo with a giant smile on her face. Or the more recent "Hate?" live at Yokohama Stadium with an amazing bass/guitar battle
Oh, early BAND-MAID! This is so old, MISA is still using that 4 string. 😁 Anyway, the point of me watching the video is I love watching musicians discover BAND-MAID. Non-musicians you get "wow that was cool", musicians know what they're listening to.
E-Law , Welcome to BAND-MAID enjoy your journey down the Pigeon hole , MISA !!! MISA !!! MISA !!! the Barefoot Bass Assassin , next Domination , official live video.
This is oldie but goodie that is the first released self-written song (2016 I think) . You'll see them evolve so much over the following years, so much.
Ex band director here - yep, this band has everything. I see the number of comments so I know i don't have to say what I was going to say - you're in for a real treat, E-Law.
Take time to watch the 7-part biography by Ohrenje. Each episode is about 30 minutes long (one for each member, with Miku getting three episodes). You will be charmed by each member and will develop an appreciation for their dedication to their craft, their fellow band members, and their fans.
Welcome to the wonder of Japanese all female rock and metal. Thanks to Roger for Band-maid. E-Law, the Maids are going to blow your mind, for me, one of the top 3 from Japan, add in Lovebites and Nemophila, and you have the whole spectrum of awesomeness. I saw many of the classic rock bands - Purple, Zeppelin, Queen, Santana, many more, all in their heyday. I’ve seen Band-maid three times and their performances stand up to any of those legendary bands. You are going to get a lot of suggestions. First, a little background on the band: Saiki Atsumi - Lead vocals Born Feb 8, 1994 MISA - Bass Born Oct 15, 1992 Kanami Tono - Lead guitar, Main composer and arranger Born Sept 28, 1991 Miku Kobato - Rhythm guitar, backing vocal Born Oct 21, 1991 Akane Hirose - Drums Born Dec 14, 1990 Miku was working in a Maid Café after being in an idol group that didn’t break through. She envisoned the idea of a maid-band that plays hard rock and metal. She recruited Kanami, after finding a Kanami guitar cover on line; Kanami then recruited Akane, who recruited MISA. Akane and MISA had been students together at the Tokyo Music Academy. The group decided they needed more vocal “oomph”, and collectively recruited Saiki. Miku didn't know how to play guitar when they started, so Kanami has been teaching her. She's become good so fast that she is really adding to the music mix, and Maidiacs are daring to dream of a dual shred. The band was struggling early on, and in 2014, even as the label was considering dropping them, they posted the music video for “Thrill” which went viral globally. When they realized what was going on, it gave them the momentum to forge ahead, and they have now done multiple tours of Europe and the U.S. and are building a global fanbase who call themselves the Maidiacs. They have released seven full albums, as well as several EPs, singles and music videos. They have put out around 170 songs, covering a wide variety of styles and sounds, without any duds. They combine a punk vibe with instrumental virtuosity (two things that are often seen as being incompatible), and have done some amazing progressive-rock songs and ballads with a metal edge to them. They toured the U.S. in 2022 and sold out 14 cities in less than 48 hours. They followed it up with a 2023 tour which had to be expanded from their original plans. Their fan base skews heavily to actual practicing musicians. Some of those followed the band to multiple dates and documented everything on youtube-some of the footage is hilarious. So far no announcements of another European tour but it seems likely in 2025. Band-Maid are that rare band that sound perfect live, even better than in the studio. Everything they have posted from their 10thAnniversary concert in Yokohama is absolute fire-I have bought the DVD and recommend you do too. 33 songs, 3 hours of insanity. Welcome to the wonderful world of Band-Maid. I suggest two live songs, "Hate?" and "Puzzle" and two MVs, one older "secret MY lips", and one newer "Forbidden tale."
on lead guitar its no wonder they sold her a nice custom private stock PRS then not longer after actualy gave her s limited edition signature PRS guitar this week.
This MV is eight years old, check out any of their newer live videos to see how far the maids have progressed since then. They have well over 100 songs in their discography, and every single one of them are worth listening to.
My opinion is that Band-Maid are one of the best bands to have formed in the past 15 years, and are currently one of the best rock and roll bands on the planet. They play many genres and styles including ballads, power ballads, pop, rock, progressive rock, hard rock, punk, metal, nu metal, and everything before in-between and beyond. They also have several great instrumental songs that they use live to give their lead singer Saiki a break. One instrumental you should listen to is From Now On. Some other song suggestions for you are Moratorium, No God, Rinne, Onset, Without Holding Back, About Us, Play, Why Why Why, Clang, and Matchless Gum. Their latest live videos from Yokohama Arena are incredible. Don't You Tell Me and Hate are straight up bangers with guitar vs bass duels, and Endless Story is a tear jerker ballad that even choked up the lead singer, Saiki, and the drummer, Akane, since it was the last song of their 10th year anniversary tour. Also, they just released a collaboration with The Warning called Show Them which is a must listen. I hope that you choose to continue into the Band-Maid pigeon hole. Yes, pigeon hole, as Miku Kobato (band founder, rhythm guitar, vocals) identifies as an 810 year old pigeon. Yes, that is crazy but you will get used to it. (LOL) Have fun with it!
Welcome to BAND-MAID!!! Play (Live), Real Existence (Live), HATE? (Live), Onset (Live), Puzzle (Live), Wonderland (Live), Dice (MV), Blooming (MV), From Now On (MV), Manners (MV), Rinne (MV), Shambles (MV) or pick any video from them. Oh, yeah. Forgot about Forbidden Tale (MV). Thanks and have a good day!!!
Background, Japan still teaches the arts in their schools. Those recognized with talent are encouraged to pursue their talent. The lead guitarist and the bassist were taking piano lessons at 3 yo. NOT unusual. The bassist and drummer attend the Tokyo School of Music, 2 year vocation school for musicians wanting to work in Japan's Music industry. Here's what Rolling Stone said about Band Maid at the 2023 Lallapalooza, Note - They were invited! Japanese Rockers Band-Maid Put Guitar Center Showoffs to Shame There’s a pun to be made about how much Band-Maid ripped, but the Japanese group goes even harder than that. Fluctuating between hard rock, aughts nu-metal, and pop rock, each member of the quintet is a virtuoso in her own right with more than a decade of practice in Band-Maid alone. They lured curious onlookers into the fold when highlights like “Domination” and “Don’t You Tell Me” got huge reactions from the crowd, but it was the bass solo-versus-guitar solo duels mid-song that got the biggest cheers. This is what those guys in Guitar Center think their ridiculous riffing sounds like. Turns out it’s done best, and most effortlessly, by women in black-and-white maid dresses and frilly hair-pieces as they smile ear to ear. -N.C.
This is newbie Band-Maid as far as talent level is concerned. They've all developed significantly since then. Fun fact, this was the first song entirely written by the band that their label allowed them to record. In the Japanese music industry, it is _very_ common for bands to be given songs written by a stable of songwriters that work for the label. The band will then arrange the song and usually write their own lyrics. The labels prefer this as an investment over spending money to record songs written by unproven songwriters. From at least one interview, the lead singer and rhythm guitarist discussed how they were constantly submitting songs to the label early on, only to be told, "Nope." Alone was the first song that the label liked enough to give them the green light to record. The song was a big success, and they've been doing their own writing ever since. I mention that the band works really hard to improve. To give an example, in an interview earlier this year on PRS Japan's TH-cam channel, Kanami (Gt) said that every day, she does 30 minutes of basic guitar exercises in the morning. Thereafter, she spends roughly 3.5 hours in guitar practice and another 3.5 hours in composition. This even continues while they're on tour; many of their songs are written while touring. You can find videos from their recent tours where they're on their tour bus traveling between gigs, and they're sitting around practicing. To get an idea of how they've developed as a instrumentalists, watch their first video for Thrill, then watch the instrumental From Now On or the live version of Hate.
@@sweetwater-uu8ci Blondie is often referred to as punk 😄 I suppose the Ramones were early punk, though I think more an inspiration for punk than punk 🤔
You should try *The Warning,* who teamed up with Band Maid on a song on BM's latest album. The Warning is three sisters from Mexico, but they speak and sing in flawless English except for 3 songs. They are grammy-nominated, and the drummer was recently named by Forbes as one of the 100 most powerful women in Mexico. Try 'Evolve' at the 2023 MTV VMAs to start.
I highly recommend you react to their official live version of Hate released about a year ago to see their amazing stage presence and amazing bass player and guitarist .
Welcome, E-Law. You are embarking on (along with many others - 220 million YT views, plus over 40 million reactor plays!) an awesome, progressive, hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:
BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Prog, Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (144 songs), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 33 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 32 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. "Sonorous" is the word i believe you were looking for to describe MISA's bass tone.🤔 I would've thought you'd have known that as an orchestra teacher but don't worry, i knew it for you.🙂
Best band this short century. This is just one of the many many sounds they’ve conquered. They are unrivaled in variety across the rock subgenres against their contemporaries. And this is just a music video; you haven’t actually heard Band-Maid until you hear their live performances. I suggest Domination live or Hate live.
I always felt Baby Metal was a bunch of cliches wrapped together. I think I saw them on the MayhemFest tour once and the energy was good but yeah, nothing beats home grown music.
@@E-LawReacts I'm not taking any thing away from them but, They are 3 cute youngish looking girls dancing and singing in front of a band of hired guns while bands like Love Bites, Band Maid and Nemophilia actually bothered to learn to play their instruments. In fact, Miku Kobato, q!uickly tired of being called "a pretty Guitar stand" and actually took lessons from none other than Kanami her self!!! And when Saki left Nemophilia, Singer Mayu took on the rhythm guitar duties. And don't even get me started on the ladies in Gacharic Spin! To say Baby Metal is not my cuppa tea is to understate things
@@E-LawReacts Babymetal does not represent Japanese rock and metal, it is not even very popular in Japan itself. There are over 200 bands in J-rock, and almost all of them play and write their own songs.
Hehehe, You have just stepped into the pigeon hole 🕳️, Band Maid is the best rock band since forever, discovered them in 2016, and have never been musically happier in 64 years, do yourself the greatest favor in your life, and pursue more Band Maid, you will thank yourself for eternity.
And a thing about the maid outfits, E-Law: as Fans and Maidiacs know, Miku -- the 2nd guitarist, lyricist, founder and who worked at a maid cafe -- wanted to show that everyday working "Kawaii" girls dressed as maids in high heels while having fun and smiling could rock as hard as any guy band sweating it up in their hip, poor tortured artists "outfits"... and by showing that contrast (the Gap), it would generate interest, which it so successfully has done! It also represents Woman Power (Equality), which is an important theme with the Maids. Now they show up as Maids for all band business and interviews, etc. and have created a long-lasting, unmistakable, visual band brand. Very cleaver, Miku. Your diabolical plan for world domination is working, Po! Of course, none of this would work if their music and stage performance wasn't at such a remarkably high level. Band-Maid is considered by many of their fans and Maidiacs to be the best hard rock band in the world - maid outfits and all!
Shout out to Roger!!! You will be amazed by the talent and the compositions of the music out of Band-Maid. This was a huge milestone song, as it was the first song written by the Maids which the Management approved. And they haven't looked back. Check out "From Now On", which is a kick you know what instrumental. And then "Forbidden Tale" from their brand new album "Epic Narratives". You also need to see Band-Maid live MV's. You think they have energy in the studio MV...wait to you see how they are in front of their Masters and Princesses (what the Maids call their fans). We fans for the most part call ourselves Maidiacs. Welcome to the Maidiacs...as the more you listen to them, the more you'll love them. Enjoy the journey. Only 130+ amazing songs to go. Roger will be an excellent guide. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘
Drums? Check out "Freedom" or "Domination" live videos. The band says the former is their easiest to play. "Domination" has, amongst many things, some great double kick and a drum solo. Cheers.
Nice review of some of those elements of the work. Old band maid, Miku playing her first guitar, Kanami using a left-handed guitar, Misa on the 4. Definitely before they came into it full bore. Strongly suggest only live cuts, too, because they are sssssssssssooooooooooo much better live. Consider the LIVE versions of Domination (everyone gets a lead part), Daydreaming (melodic), Freedom (your drum break, here), Play, Hate, Manners with Black Hole (insane speed work), to really hear them do their thing. This band should never be heard via the official studio version. It's a step down. Domination, LIVE: th-cam.com/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/w-d-xo.html
Agree with KittyKaren 🐈 for the most part. Generally LIVE Band-Maid is the best Band-Maid. There are a few exceptions, in my opinion, where the original music video is superior or just as good, including: From Now On (instrumental) MANNERS (bluesy) Don’t you tell ME (great song, entertaining video) UNLEASH (mostly animated) THRILL (the video that saved the band - literally) SHAMBLES (Akane’s drumming clinic) The Non-Fiction Days (filmed on a beach in freezing weather) Hello from Dallas! More BAND-MAID please!

It was very emotional.
that’s so sick!!!! incredibly well deserved!
$6000 and worth every cent! @@E-LawReacts
Paul gave her a guitar valued at almost $15K. She is a featured artist with PRS. Ah, the benefits of endorsement.
Also, the youngest.
Rock and Roll never died. It's just played by little Japanese women now.
So many little Japanese women making so much quality Rock 😎
Oh wow, that’s so awesome to see that skill transferring over. I’ll check out the track on my morning drive!
Music teachers, students, engineers and nerds get plenty to enjoy while listening to Band Maid. Cute, fun aesthetic, but deadly serious aggressive progressive arrangements.
You want to analyze?
“Blooming,” “From Now On,” “Moratorium”
Take your pick.
I admit - I LOOOOVE it when a musician hears Band-Maid for the first time!
Orchestra Teacher?? I think you would enjoy From Now On
Is that a group or song? I’ll def check it!
Or Without Holding Back.
@@E-LawReacts It's an instrumental song, much more recent than this one! It's very impressive!
@falconsooner Do you think E-Law is ready for that already? It’s only been 4 hours since his first exposure!
@@JohnGioffredi-gi7zdnah he’s not ready. But I don’t think anyone is ever ready !
Dope, I’ll def check it out!
Black hole? Do you think he is ready for that song? 😅 Of course he has to do the double feature of Manners AND Blackhole (online live), a great combo of two very different songs performed during COVID. But before that it's a good idea to check out their LIVE stuff in front of an audience, Moratorium for example.
@@skrrytchwe’ll find out I guess. I just figured he can handle a lot going on at once.

Thank you for checking out our Maids. subbed.

From now on. You’ll never be prepared for it so you might as well just check it out. 🎸

「 _"Our rock never dies ever. Forever!"_ 」 - from *BAND-MAID* - 'Manners' ♬🕊
I saw many of the classic rock bands - Purple, Zeppelin, Queen, Santana, many more, all in their heyday. I’ve seen Band-maid three times and their performances stand up to any of those legendary bands.
You are going to get a lot of suggestions. First, a little background on the band:
Saiki Atsumi - Lead vocals Born Feb 8, 1994
MISA - Bass Born Oct 15, 1992
Kanami Tono - Lead guitar, Main composer and arranger Born Sept 28, 1991
Miku Kobato - Rhythm guitar, backing vocal Born Oct 21, 1991
Akane Hirose - Drums Born Dec 14, 1990
Miku was working in a Maid Café after being in an idol group that didn’t break through.
(LOL)
Have fun with it!
Japanese Rockers Band-Maid Put Guitar Center Showoffs to Shame
There’s a pun to be made about how much Band-Maid ripped, but the Japanese group goes even harder than that. -N.C.
Kudos Roger!!🍻

4:09 "Pop punk" this continues to amuse me 😼 Punk HATED pop 🤬 Now it's apparently a genre 📁
you know, never thought about that before. that’s a really interesting piece of conflict!
I blame Green Day and so does Lee 'green day is not punk' Ranaldo
@@sweetwater-uu8ci Blondie is often referred to as punk 😄 I suppose the Ramones were early punk, though I think more an inspiration for punk than punk 🤔
@@DougguoD it was just a joke.
@@sweetwater-uu8ci Gotta admit I avoided Green Day 😄
You wanna hear MISA's 5-string bass tone these days 💪👊 Check the 'Influencer' MV...good times 🥳🔥🤘🤘🤘
Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off-the-rails spectacular!
Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 80 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: th-cam.com/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/w-d-xo.html Their songs from albums Unleash, Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, Just Bring It, Brand New Maid, and New Beginning drive even more - Hate?, Shambles, Influencer, Warning, No God, Different, Black Hole, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Don’t You Tell Me, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, You, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on.
But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, The One, Bestie, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, At The Drop Of A Hat, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or progressive like No God, Giovanni, and Black Hole… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like From Now On, Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts… or their many acoustic versions like Catharsis and Sayonakidori... and last but not least, their Anime hits (AniMaid) like Protect You, Sense, Different, Glory and Unleash!!!!! (from their own Anime MV (series?)): th-cam.com/video/7LB_EPS48HE/w-d-xo.html)
And many songs are represented with over 50 well produced music videos. th-cam.com/users/BANDMAID
Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYUJI concerts:

Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Don’t Let Me Down, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid.

Band-Maid Members:
Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “StarQueen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. At 30 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen!
Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 33 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!!
Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 33 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more!
A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA!
Maidiacs (Maid-e-acts) - Band-Maid’s crazed yet supportive, knowledgeable and loyal Super Fans.

Best band this short century. This is just one of the many many sounds they’ve conquered. They are unrivaled in variety across the rock subgenres against their contemporaries. And this is just a music video; you haven’t actually heard Band-Maid until you hear their live performances. I suggest Domination live or Hate live.
They’re so much better live.
🕊️
Unlike Baby Metal, these ladies write their own music and play their own instruments.

DOMINATION, live, 14 February 2020
Rock & Roll went expat to Japan.
Check they live performance HATE? 😉
No way ur a super niece microcelebrity now… they grow up so fast !!😭

MISA MISA MISA!!!!!
There are a few exceptions, in my opinion, where the original music video is superior or just as good, including:
From Now On (instrumental)
MANNERS (bluesy)
Don’t you tell ME (great song, entertaining video)
UNLEASH (mostly animated)
THRILL (the video that saved the band - literally)
SHAMBLES (Akane’s drumming clinic)
The Non-Fiction Days (filmed on a beach in freezing weather)
Hello from Dallas! More BAND-MAID please!
Manner mv is my favorite maid video period! I love the live but love the mv more. 🍺😁
