Welcome to the "Hickok45 Talks" Channel. This channel is a place for me to just pontificate about random topics that somebody out there might find interesting. I will talk about firearms issues quite a lot, but I'll also exercise my license to talk about any topic I might pretend to know something about.
If you have a topic you'd like me to address, let me know. Doesn't mean I'll address it, but who knows, I might.

At 71 it’s hard for me to believe things have happened in our country that are happening now. Go to work. Work hard to do what you do and hopefully enjoy it. Take care of your family. And pass everything on to your kids. Doesn’t seem to be like that anymore. Been enjoing all your videos for a few years. I try to go over on rumble from time to time. You give great insight and vision that really seems to be gettng lost in these times. I feel so sorry for young kids now. They are gettng so many mixed messages. Thank you for all the work & effort to put these videos out here 👍

The young folks are being raised by tiktok and their peers. Parents aren’t doing their jobs anymore. They too are on social media too much.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard "the lesser of two evils"... Yes, it's true, but people fail to fully grasp that something "less evil" is still evil.
I prefer Rumble. I'm a big fan of using real words instead of code words to avoid censorship. Very diplomatic ramble, sir. Peace, love and blessings to you and yours.

Like it or not, places like Rumble are the only future for firearms channels. YT doesn't want them here.

They blame it mostly on other countries for the reason of needing censorship, but let's face it, we know that's mostly a lie.

It’s different to navigate but it’s much better no censorship like TH-cam.. no matter what there will always be Karen’s complaining about everything that doesn’t suit them…
There is censorship, based on the laws. Not on feelings and personal opinion.
I think that if Rumble ever gets a fraction of TH-cam's popularity (number of users), it will implement "policy changes and restrictions."
Colour me pessimistic - and I really wish to be proven wrong on that.
Having said that, I plan to upload my videos there just to support the platform in a way ( my videos are technical and don't get censored by TH-cam).
It is clunky compared to TH-cam. :)

At 84 years old, I'd bet I've been around the sun more times than most people here. In that time, one disturbing trend I've noticed is how political, discussion, conversation, and opinions have become an obsession. Politics have become a hobby for so many people. Not that long ago, we simply never talked about it. I remember during the election of 1956, my grandpa, who was born in the cowboy era, joked about how not that long before, it was rare to know who the president was, let along who the candidates were. We'd be a better nation if we focused more on our homes and our communities, and less on who the president is.
I'm 28 years old. Most people my age can't even comprehend owning a home. There are very few "homes and communities" to focus on. We've been turned into a minority in our own country, our people are committing suicide on an ethnic and spiritual level, we have no money and most of us have no hope. We're highly political because the only alternative is doing drugs and dying... or ignoring the problem, which all of the previous generations have done from post-ww2 to today
The internet is basically a cesspool (except Hickok45 - a class act)

Rumble will improve as content providers go there
The internet has been a cespool since the late 90s when i was a teenager.
That's sort of like the whole world until people get used to it.

Social media in general is a cesspool.Some is simply worse than others.
I wonder if the same people who think Rumble is a cesspool are living in those huge cities with massive pollution but think cattle living in the countryside amongst the fields, pastures and plant life are causing problems. My guess is going to be Yep!

I fail to see the correlation. I live in the country, I grew up around farms, and I take no issue with them, but I don't look kindly on political extremists of any flavor. I use Playeur and MeWe for the very reasons that Hickok is talking about, but you'd have to be blind not to notice the talking heads and tinfoil hats (among other things). I respect that those people should have an outlet too, but I also respect that some people just don't want to put up with that.
I'm really glad to see that you've started posting on Rumble again. It may have problems but then again so does TH-cam and talented people like yourself need to reach as many people as possible.
I like Rumble, probably watch it more than TH-cam nowadays.

My ancestral Uncle Alexis came from Quebec to aid our ragtag band of "mercenaries" against Aristocracy. Taught woodland survival, tracking and hunting. Survival skills.
Got shot from a sleepy soldier who dropped his rifle and wound up in the hospital for a decade, probably till they got enough data and killed him. My surgeon told me the naval area never heals.
I would love to see a dedicated firearms-only video platform.
Hickok45 & I are about the same age but I’ve never been on Rumble, or any other site but TH-cam, but he & I think alike on many issues.

I was quite surprised to see how few gun videos were on Rumble when I checked in. I thought there would be a lot but was quite wrong.
People who object to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness are the types who find fault with Rumble and it's users. I care very little about what they say and less yet about their twisted motives. They're to be overcome, defeated, and denied the power to infringe upon our unalienable rights.
I'm under 30, most conservative people my age are completely willing to destroy the left with force, we really don't have a choice anymore. Its the older generations (who have suffered the least) that believe in the "God-given right" for crazed leftists to annihilate the entirety of Western civilization.

Censorship is fascist. This is a fascist platform.
The problem I have with Rumble is, you can’t comment on a video without the bots chiming in like you’re getting a reply from the video creator! They try to link you to a fake telegram account, really annoying! They need to fix that!
And, if I'm not mistaken, you can't even block them.
@@OneWildTurkey and you can’t even report them so they’re looked into and banned if needed, which they are!
@@kvmalley Hopefully, they'll be able to add a department that will be able to do that after they're more successful. (making enough $$)
My thoughts as well. So, now I only click the like button and don't comment there.
In terms of “channel freedom” I do appreciate being able to politely disagree on this one without being immediately blocked and banned. All too common on others’ channels. So it’s not just the platform. It’s the channel owner that mediates freedom. And on Rumble it’s not so free as some say.
I wish more people understood the first amendment like you do, Hickok.
Rumble is awesome- it isn't censored like YT.
I don’t care for their user interface.
It's still pretty rough. But - their comments section is a little easier to keep readable. It's easier to follow 'conversations' in the comments.
I posted my first video over there the other day. I expect to upload more.

I enjoy all of your videos on all of your channels. I don’t comment much I don’t know that much about guns. I have quite a few just for protection and target shooting. I’m not a hunter.

Private organizations performing government activities are bound by the First Amendment. This is especially true in a corportist society like the US where the government uses private organizations as government agencies.
TH-cam comment sections are cesspools. Also, TH-cam adds are too.
This situation is basically history repeating itself. We all have to cope , such is life.
Learned a long time ago to separate the person from the art. Actors and actresses, bands, authors. You name it. All I care about is the product. When you start introducing your "personal" feelings and ideology, to the point where I notice and it has nothing to do with the product, I am out. Now if going in and I rnow that stuff might be there, I don't care either. Wow me. If you don't "Wow", I may never pay attention to you again. But it's the product, not the person.
Up until a few weeks ago I thought Rumble was like Grindr for cowboys.

I use Rumble too. Rumble is based out of Toronto Canada. Rumble is a freer platform. Rumble is less restrictive. There are guidelines on Rumble. It is not the wild west. Rumble takes some getting used to. TH-cam is easier on the eyes, but YT is over the top on removing comments and content and "strikes". In the last few weeks, I have gotten bad boy sit in the corner time outs from YT for something that I allegedly said, but the trouble is, they never tell you what was said. I have never gotten that time out before; I just cook. And that is baloney. Good luck H45.

I like Rumble but it's very difficult to navigate. They need to fix their notification system so you can find new videos from the accounts you follow.
Hickok you need to put your thoughts, knowledge and memoirs into a book. Best seller would be my guess.
Your Phone company can't turn off your phone because they disagree with your politics. Your landlord can't refuse to rent to you because of your politics. I feel that libertarians have not taken a stand so they choose that path. I believe those that use the phrase "Don't discuss religion or politics do it to avoid an adult discussion. I actually thrive to hear debates on the two. I agree with the comments on music artists especially when they were against big government and for freedom and we saw how they treated President Trump and how they spoke for the destruction of rights during the Plandemic.

I also lean libertarian which is why it is so hard to stomach the two major parties we have. I haven’t dealt with rumble much, but I did try the few FB alternatives the popped up in the wake of 2020… Holy wow! The uneducated and uncivilized nature of the people commenting on stuff was somewhat horrifying. It’s not surprising that all of these alternatives eventually failed. Those of us in the middle recognize that a polite society does require a degree of self-censorship to function. It is tough to know what to do with mega platforms like YT. They are defacto public forums but like you said, they are companies and as such are not required to grant 1st amendment protections. It’s one of the few situations the founders did not envision. But it could be a slippery slope to force them to. I enjoy your talks and let us hope, as always, the cooler heads prevail.

Narrow minded people will always consider people that don't agree with then as evil and don't deserve freedom of speech. A thought from a rather conservative free minded individual who believes in the constitution - As you said - the government that governs best governs least. Or as a Greek philosopher said - The more laws a country has the less freedom its citizens have.

Rumble isn't available in Brazil , hasn't been for a while, and neither is Twitter now 😊 maybe they'll pull tiktok, Facebook and Instagram next lol. But i have deactivated all social media except for TH-cam so as to regain some of my time back during the day so I can do what I want instead of what 'everybody else' is doing ...

Yes, support and defend the Constitution of the United States. Believe in less government telling us what we can and what we can't do. Individual freedoms for law abiding citizens and that no one is above the law.. A government that understands this country is made of a variety of different faiths, lifestyles, values, nationalities. America is the melting pot. The understanding not everyone is going to agree with how you believe but to respect one another's own personal beliefs.
I'd like to watch a WW2 documentary without the blurred segments anytime a dead body is shown. Can Rumble at least allow a clear picture?

I just searched for the channels I like here and sometimes pick up some from those suggested.
As with most uncensored content/news sites, that also have a comment section, will always attract some bad apples who add zero constructive remarks to any debate. And generally just try to antagonize people with name calling. Thank goodness they have an ignore setting on some of them.

If we are talking gun history and operation, why throw politics into it? If a presenter is articulate and factual, that is all that should matter.
Sure, these are private companies and can do whatever they want ... but when the government admits to "working" with them to "suggest" what is allowed or is not allowed, that changes things a bit, does it not?

I started on Rumble a while back. It is much more difficult to get going on Rumble with a channel than other platforms. But I'm going to keep trying to build it. At least I'm not censored on Rumble.
Rumble isn’t a cesspool. It’s just a disappointment. It lacks people doing the work to accumulate the content necessary to make it happen, and its algorithm has no direction or inspiration.

Rumble is a Blessing of Free Speech. Themtube constantly harasses me, claiming that I said something racist or was bullying another poster but, they NEVER post a link to the silly accusation & I never have a clue what they are talking about. Rumble has never harassed me like that, not even once.
