The cable will reel off much more neatly off a cable reel holder, you can make your own one out of two triangular bits of osb and some threaded rod. No more twisted cable! Also, as an electrician I love the way you cut the insulation for the downlights, it's the best I've come across. Not to forget the plasterers doing a lovely job of cleaning the electrical boxes out, so many plasterers can't be arsed!👌
Also if you look at the r3gs it's got to be a certain depth from.the top.and bottom of a joist for instillation as to not weaken and if I believe correctly they hVe not done it central or at the correct distance from top and bottom of.joist
This is what is miss about the UK. The workmanship and attention to detail are second to none. I just renovated my home in Singapore, and the level of workmanship I expected was a challenge to obtain. We got there in the end, but they just dont have the same feness about the finishing touches as you guys. Keep up the good work.
Love to see proper tradesman at work. Non trades people take note, you cannot underestimate the value of real skills. Back in the day i use to say “oh im just a plumber” now its “im a plumbing and heating engineer, put some respect on that” 😆😂👊🏼 great work guys!
Wow, this build is turning out amazing! The attention to detail is off the charts! 🌟 I love how it’s not just a garden room but almost like a little retreat. Can’t wait to see how it all comes together in the end! And that countryside view is the cherry on top! 🍒🏡
Between ashville and you guys I am learning so much in building and carpentry. Wish I had gone into this trade rather than catering . I'm very DIY and learnt from my dad everything and can do and build and macanic on cars everything but I feel dumb watching your videos . But also really happy because I'm like yeah of course that how you so it why didn't I think like that . If your looking for a 35 year old apprentice I'm your guy 😂😢😊
Wow how things have changed in the building game over the last 40 years, or is it just your team that cares and takes pride in the work u do, no one cleaned out the sockets years ago. Good job all. Very proffesinal 👍
I don't think I've ever seen a room plastered like that. Maybe in ultra high-end mansions in Canada but... most of the time we just tape/sand the joints and paint it. That was really neat.
Wow. You guys do audio wires in the uk. You want an in-wall rated cable. FT4 /CL2 rated. You also want to run it at least 2ft away from electrical when running along with. Cheers guys. Love the videos.
Chaps, started watching you doing Matt Armstrong paddock . Now hooked Love the descriptives on each stage , live the humour and how smart you work. Subscribed now too Cheers lads
Love that you explain every process of the build in detail it makes a massive difference. Can't wait to see the end result I already know it's gonna be amazing as is the case when you hire a perfectionist. 👍
4:40 a trick I learned for this was prior to standing the wall, in any location you have a doorway, use a circular saw on the underside of the bottom plate and cut halfway through your opening cut on both sides. This way, the other half of the bottom plate that wasn't cut keeps the wall rigid and you don't have to cut as much material from the top side when you're ready to remove that section from the bottom plate. Hope that makes sense and helps in the future!
Your speaker cables won't pick up interference, it's signal cable that may be prone to interference, but you would use screened for signal anyway. Great job guys.
It is generally not recommended to run speaker wire directly next to electrical wires. Doing so can potentially cause interference or electrical noise in the audio signal carried by the speaker wire. Some key considerations: Electrical wires produce electromagnetic fields that can induce unwanted noise or hum in nearby audio cables. This interference can degrade sound quality. The higher the current flowing through the electrical wire, the greater the potential for interference. Wires carrying high-power electrical loads should be kept further away from speaker cables. Shielded speaker cables are less susceptible to interference, but even shielded cables should be routed separately from electrical wires when possible. If speaker wires must cross electrical wires, it's best to have them cross at a 90 degree angle to minimize the length of parallel run. The recommended best practice is to separate speaker wires and electrical wires by at least a few inches, and route them in parallel paths when possible. This helps prevent electromagnetic coupling and maintains audio signal integrity. When planning cable runs, consider the potential for interference and make the separation as wide as is practical for the installation.
I am fan of matts channel and been watching your videos throw that. love d.i.y my self too . but the expertise you guys shows and talks is amazing quality job just wished all work men worked up to your standards. great job loving the videos keep up the great work .
Amazing level of detail. Love it! By the way, I think you’ll need to use fire/acoustic hoods for the ceiling speakers. Not sure if you left gaps for that
Great job, only thing I do different, I’ve done a few builds like this, I always push the insulation back to the ply, you don’t want condensation building up in that 50mm gap, I leave a 25mm gap at the front for all my cables.
After working as an electrician for 10 years in the UK I have NEVER had anyone sort the insulation out like you guys! normally they just shove the insulation up and the spots are a nightmare to find!
I need to be building a 22’x10’ “shed” at some point, and unfortunately, I couldn’t afford your fuel costs from Essex to Pompey, let alone your labour costs 😂 Luckily your videos have given me loads of pointers in getting it done. Nice work Phil….and Brad this time 😉👍
In Germany, the walls are covered with at least double sheeting, why don't you do that? It's absolutely safer if you hang something on the wall like a TV, etc. 😅
Have to say there’s not many tradesmen out there that can do multi trades to a high standard but you guys are the acception top work guys 👍🏻
Nice one Jamie really appreciate that 🙏🏼😊
High standard 😂😂😂😂
*exception
fixmyproperty AI fixes this. Mat Armstrong's dream garden room.

Pity the sparks can never clean up after themselves 😂😉

As a builder fair play the insulation box in the ceiling to a great idea don’t let building control see. This they will want it as a standard 😂
The Home Improvements Channel UK, amazing content keep up the good content

Really like that plaster work. So much better than drywall done here in U.S. with feathering every screw head, butt joint and tape line individually.
run a joinery business and still cant get enough watching videos like this on YT when I get back 😂
🤣 well we love that you watch 🙏🏼🙏🏼
This level of detail, care and craftsmanship will never be achieved here in US.
🤩🙏🏼
Brilliant workmanship and work ethic. 👍👍👍👍
Wow, thanks!

Just this 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼…….. and the plumbing part is coming soon😉
Love this as much as matts own builds - a resin drive to this would be the dream space finish - maybe a sponsor could step in?
Legend keep your eyes peeled 😁😁😁
I have to say you and your team are awesome at the work you are doing the work is top notch never seen work this good before.
Thank you very much! 🙏🏼

Ditto on that one. Going to show my plasterer this as it's normally me doing that clean up the next day after they have left.
These lads always do everything to the highest standard it looks amazing and can’t wait to see the finish ❤
Wow thanks 🙏🏼
I love the way all these lads work together. It’s like poetry in motion vs. WWF wrestling with beer at the end. Priceless. 🙏👍👌

🤩🤩🤩🙏🏼
Quality video as usual lads. I’ve been a sparky for 28yrs & never once has a plasterer cleaned out a socket or switch box, but great to see.👍🏻
🙏🏼 thanks mate
Pretty cool to see the techniques used over there compared to what we have in the US. Different building codes too. Enjoying these videos.
Thanks mate Yh I watch a few guys from the states I find it super interesting 😁

Great success.
🤣👌🏼
Really nice work
Should have put another 50mm layer of celotex over the studs before the Vapor barrier to prevent cold bridge through the timbers
On a habitable building we would just these are made with maximising space 😊😊😊
Looks good
Thanks Jason 😊
Plastering is a art form
Absolutely 👍🏼
Masters at work.

In the US I hear paddock and think a field for horses. In the UK, a building for thousands of horses. 🐎
Just a nick name for the garden room 😊
Brilliant well done lads as always well presented, learning from your expertise.
Thanks 👍 😁
In Germany, the walls are covered with at least double sheeting, why don't you do that? It's absolutely safer if you hang something on the wall like a TV, etc. 😅
We usually locate the studs and fix the tv to that 😊
Everywhere you staple a d cut wires in defeats the vapor barrier. Proven fact
It’s a Vapour control barrier.
Top job 👌
Thanks ✌
You guys are rocking the original to me to you 😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
Big job for use and will be great content am from Liverpool
