    My previous car was a EP1 Civic. Absolutely nothing special with its 1.4 engine, but seeing this video reminds me how much of a breeze that gearbox was. The position of the shifter is just genius, and so easy to get into gear.

    • @MonsterCod1
      @MonsterCod1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      True. it gets weird looks many times. But position is great.

    The rally style shifter position on the ep3 and the hatchback form factor is truly great!

      i was the 1st in VA to have a SC K24 EP3 in 2005. I had a trainwreck 2004 K24a2 - a zero mile salvage engine. I road coursed and mountain road the shit out of that for 42,000 miles

    Your cornering speed vs your friend is top notch. Guessing this is the k20 and the red ones the k24 he was pulling away in the straights.

  • @WhiskeyInspekta

    You corning really well with your EP3. Even on wide turns i can feel mine starting to dig into the turn and i slow it down before I lose it.
    I owned a Porsche 944 and that car corners like a dream, i wasnt scared to corner at those speeds, matter a fact I'd give it a little more speed bc i knew she could take it.

    Great racing and you were miles better in the corners he just had slight pulling power on the straights.

    Think even tho it revs a little less, ways more, and sits abit higher. The K24 for a fast road/track build is the one to go for. And i can always swop the head in the future if i want the best of both worlds.

    • @MonsterCod1
      @MonsterCod1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Boosting will grant a lot of power. But in my opinion it does not suit the car. Unless you are into roll/drag racing. 280 hp N/A build like in the red civic in front, with all the proper suspension modifications is perfect receipt for fun and also fast trackday EP3.

      @@haarisfarooqui8637 civic is indeed quite light with 1180 kg withour rear seats , half a tank of gas and myself in a car. I calculated it would need around 300 hp to accelerate like BMW M3 E92 which are not rare on the ring. It feels different.Better is a thing of taste. It is very rev happy. Unless you have built K24 you do not get that near 9k redline. Although K24 torque is superior for racing.

      Red civic was tuned 282 hp k24 block with stock k20a2 head, clutch type LSD, and all the goodies around suspension and brakes. I'm wondering myself what could i achieve with such modifications, but i guess i will never found out, since i'm constantly battling with myself, if its worth spending such money on EP3, when i want RWD car sooner or later. Greetings to croatia :) I plan to come back to Grobnik this year. I only driven there once and i had a blast. Unfortunately it was raining hard all day.

      I had brand new Semislick Nankang AR1 tire and generally more courage. Colleague had Toyo r888 at the end of their life. Front camber -2.3 deg, rear -1.5 deg, toe 0 front and rear. I had coilovers damping settings set to quite soft. It's worth noting that i have OEM anti roll bars, which means the handling is more subtle. If you run a bigger rear anti roll bar it makes car rotating more, which can be used as advantage but it can feel a lot more dangerous especially on track like Nordschleife.
      Google translate:
      Ich hatte einen brandneuen Semislick Nankang AR1 Reifen und generell mehr Mut. Kollege hatte Toyo r888 am Ende ihres Lebens. Vorderer Sturz -2,3 Grad, hinten -1,5 Grad, Zehen 0 vorne und hinten. Ich hatte Gewindefahrwerke Dämpfungseinstellungen auf ziemlich weich eingestellt. Es ist erwähnenswert, dass ich OEM-Stabilisatoren habe, was bedeutet, dass das Handling subtiler ist. Wenn Sie einen größeren hinteren Stabilisator fahren, dreht sich das Auto stärker, was als Vorteil genutzt werden kann, sich aber besonders auf Strecken wie der Nordschleife viel gefährlicher anfühlt.
