Good thing about Toronto/GTA is that the small streets offer amazingly good and calm space to skate, unlike parks which are crowded with bbqers, often with karaoke systems and entire park is full of cars. Also Downtown have this nice quiet streets and spots, if you know where to look at. At the moment I have a longboard and I learn to skate on the small streets of North York. If I get again inline skates, would never go to the parks. Love the freedom of going around streets.

Great video as always! :) Since you tried both the GT & GTO, which one would you prefer (for which purpose)? I'm thinking of ordering a pair, but not sure yet about the model. There's also the GTS now which has the outside of the GTO and the inside of the GT, which could be just the perfect option for me :)
They are handmade to your foot. Do you know how much a bike is? Ski’s & equipment? The fact they are made in Italy & not China ? They are quality all around, but I would be afraid of getting them dirty almost immediately!
@@HeadNtheClouds I'm about 20 years into inline skating, I've seen a lot of skates that are quick, or fit well or have unique features whatever. But these are not high perfomance skates not something I'd immediately want to have. It's like a Toyota Camry that costs like Ferrari just because of quality control and expensive workforce. P.S. I'm happy with my $150 setup right now
Yeah adapt are not for me, but I like the look of them from afar. I've never got the people that pay so much for their aggressive adapt skate, they're just gonna get trashed jumping around and grinding! I spose if you've got the money though, why not? 🤷♂️ I saw a video about the new rec (freestyle? Whatever this guys does) skates they're making and they are even more expensive maybe twice as much. The guy who makes them with his wife reckons they'll take two weeks of his time to make.

Man, you're freakin' killin' it! That was a sesh! And PSP have played a blinder - that was better than any marketing campaign! How do they compare against the GTO, and what's your thoughts on 80 vs 84mm? I am taking my wife's advice and saving for a set of Adapts, might as well enjoy them while I am young enough, right?
The comparison is tough, right now I feel a technical speed skater moving to street would love the GTO; a hockey player might prefer the GT. GTO's fit me very well but the comfort from the start was downright freaky in the GT's. I'm loving 80mm, I'm reminded that this is my sweet spot. Your wife sounds cool!
@@BillStoppard Yeah Man, she’s the best!👌Thanks for the detail! I thought it’d be GTOs all the way but this’ll need some serious thought. Those GTs looked lethal! Whatever it is it’ll be 80s.

7y ago laws and bylaws were defined only for ebikes in Toronto/GTA. No idea if they now defined laws for escooters and eboards, but I would assume, an escooter is regarded as an ebike on the road.
B, What's it like having such a high cuff that's not hinged? I guess you can't tighten the upper strap if you want to get low. I don't think this boot would suit me...I don't like the restriction of a ski boot. Hockey skates...as you know don't have a hinged cuff either but the cuff is much lower and some guys don't lace right up to the top eyelet. I heard in earlier versions of Adapt skates guys were breaking the upper strap because they wanted the support and the only way to do that would be to have the upper strap tight...but in doing so they had no forward flex...causing excess stress on the strap. So their solution was to beef up the strap. I think they should have gone the other way and relieved stress on the strap by having a cuff the had some hinge to it. Looks to me like you don't have these skates very tight. Look a bit loose and floppy on you. You know there is a big difference between promoting a pair of skates that you got for free and actually reviewing honesty a pair of skates that you had to pay for with your hard earned money.
Lacing dictates forward flexion entirely with this. Mobility and support of the adapt beats any hinge or buckle system, also great for power transfer/mechanical assistance.
Bill Stoppard Skating BSS I don’t see how having your laces loose could give you the support you need. I can see you have yours loose and I can see your skates pronate on your stride.
@@kchappelle The cuff isn’t ‘that’ high. I compared my GTOs to my hinge-cuffed skates and my carbon CCM ice hockey skates - the Adapt cuff is very slightly lower than my Powerslides and a bit taller than the ice hockey skates. I think that the way the Adapts fit is actually closer to the ice skates rather than inlines. The support of the Adapts comes from the solid high quality shell and its design. Good fit and support isn’t dependent on strangling your feet and ankles to death in the boots and you can run the laces and strap a lot looser. What nobody mentions is that the Hyperskate cuff is very deeply V’d at the back and that’s where the ankle flexibility comes from. Pieter Wijnant discussed this design and why he won’t use a hinged cuff in a video that he did with Ricardo Lino a while back. Maybe that Adapts aren’t for you but maybe that’s your problem of how you now depend on boots to provide certain stability that should come from your body. I paid for my GTOs so I don’t have to justify them to anyone - believe the hype. I’ll never buy hinge cuffed skates again.
