Hey Bill, at 38 you've inspired me to pick up my first pair of skates since my preteens and get back into it. I'm only a few sessions in and I still suck (for now) but honestly I'm so grateful you included that second fall in this video - if that still happens even to you then there's definitely still hope for the rest of us 😅
Just shows....full concentration at all times. Skating the streets takes maximum skill it's very unpredictable. Even the best and most experienced still fall on skates. I'm 3 weeks in to my new experience now and I feel Inline is one of the most difficult skills to master . The different surfaces everywhere that constantly change , the awareness of trip hazards , that's before you start looking at cars trying to squeeze by you.
I admire your humility posting your falls and even putting them in slo mo. The funny thing about stopping is that we need it most when we are tired but unfortunately it is one of those techniques that seem to take the most energy!
Amazing skating on such roads bordered with ice and snow. Glad that you also show the crashes. Much more real and honest than a lot of other channels on youtube where you never see any mistake.
Toronto apparently relies on salt on footpaths against slipperiness. In contrast, we use a lot of loose gravel. There are concerns about the salinisation of the soil. Blading on gravel sucks, the stuff lies around until spring.
Dear Bill, I recently started skating. I only found your channel yesterday while looking for inline skates ( please feel free to suggest as many pairs as you want ranging from zero haha! ) Congratulations on all your sponsorships and I am sending this message to tell you that I am hoping I will be able to meet the amazingly gifted personality that you offer us through your writing and visual footage. Please humbly accept my fact of a compliment: You deserve A TON MORE VIEWS. Thanks for sharing your falls. with respect, Manny M. Demonton
3:00 OW! You have all my respect blading in this frigid weather. Good you were wearing some layers, hope everything still works (you & cam). 7:20 was a Mulligan, nothing happened, except the footwork was awesome!
I like how you inline skating in the city with your speed and you also slow motion the part you fall so it's part of the fun. Last but not least when someone from the car care when you fall, it is really nice to see. Good video as always Bill!!
*Insert Benny Hill music here* Haha, thanks for showing us warts-n-all. I've had a few falls like this and started wearing padded shorts so that it's also only my ego that gets bruised.
I never know if Canada had a better "share the road culture" than where I am in the states. Or if I just skate really slow and bill skates really fast 😅
Hey Bill. I wonder what was your motivation or the catalyst to start skating? (maybe you have a video where you explain the story?) What keeps you motivated to do it after so many years? Thanks! Best wishes
What kind of socks do you guys wear in winter? I tried skating in the cold recently and learned my skates are the opposite of insulated. Thanks for continuing to include wipe outs btw! It inspires the rest of us to get back up too and stay humble
On super cold days I warm pucks in the oven, and stuff them in my skates for 20 min before wearing. Double layer socks sometimes, nothing special. Wipeouts are drama, I hate them, but you guys love them!
love it Bill! Because of you a pair of power slide next core 100 tri skates just arrived to me in Los Angeles, care of pro skaters place. states are sold out of a lot of skates and sizes so I ordered from your recommendation! great customer service. great vid and insta 360 perspectives are incredible. please make more like planet skate vid... raw and great music. maybe a future vid, you title SUSHI ROLL, where u skate thru town to meet up with lead-foot-stacey at sushi. peace friend, thanks for constant inspiration.
I know falling is common when you skate but I was actually wondering if you ever fell while on the road/street... There's my answer! Ha! I'm still quite afraid of falling next to cars but oh well, if it's meant to be... I usually don't comment so I'll take this opportunity to thank you, because before finding your channel I felt like kind of lost in the skating field not really fitting in any category but I admire what you do and that's more like what I like doing (although, I kind of suck skating...). Also, I really enjoy watching your videos and love the flowcast ones, great sense of humour hehe! Regards and a big virtual hug!
I guess it's minus something there... Respect for skating in such a conditions :) I thought you are in off season, recovering and preparing for the season?!
We all know the pain of stumbling and spinning around while you desperately try to stay upright. Real nice of that guy to make sure you’re okay though.
I bet in Toronto you know driving habits of people. Is it different for you to street skate in a different cities where you dont kbow driver's culture and habits?
Good question, I had had to skate more defensively in London UK; cars like to turn onto side-streets without looking for pedestrians, cyclists, or me. It took me a week to understand things to the point where I felt 'safe'.
@@BillStoppard thanks Bill, glad you agree. Great vid though btw, nice to switch it up without music! Was inspired to take up skating at the start of the pandemic after coming across your channel, now I get out on them whenever I can. Nice to see the pros can still fall, makes me feel better about my recent falls! I blame the weather!

Welcome back Conrad. Enjoy all the cool levelling up, the early days are fascinating!
+1 been skating for like 5 yrs now, Bill's vids inspire to rock and progress

For it being February in Toronto, you guys don’t have much snow...down here in Chicago, we’re buried...more snow to come...great flow...
This view from behind you in the beginning of this video is so cool!
Love from the Netherlands, Schiedam, following you for years!

...what a great city to fly through on antigravity boots - another awesome video!
Haha yes, the boson boots are made for Metropolis!!
The last fall was very artistic.
Your videos are so relaxing, Bill.
My man is out here smoking cars with the quickness.

Yes the Toronto salts our city the way Rome salted Carthage for revenge!
so you ARE human after all! Glad you didn't hurt yourself and great upload as always!!

Thank you so much Manny, you made my day. I will get those monster views someday, especially with encouragers like you behind me!!
Nice flow, Bill! It's great that snow has not yet conquered the streets. Surprised you're not wearing a beanie in those temperatures. Peace!

Thanks D, the cam is fine (my biggest concern). 7:20 was the Chaplin bit I've been working on; finally nailed it!
been noticing less straight up “power” in your stride, and more efficiency! love it!
So smooth I could have sworn the pavement was iced over
I agree!
OMG; that is my dearest wish! Love your wording G!!
Haha, man. You’re absolutely bombing. You get me excited for blading again. Well done for handling those falls and getting out in the winter boss man!
Quick As , under harsch conditions 👍💪🎿❄️
Respect !
Thanks so much G!!
Great skating. Makes me want to try some winter skating.
Great to see the view from behind. Allows us to see things from your POV

What a treacherous roll with all that urban salty slush around!
LMAO i just came back from a skate and fell twice today as well on the street. Now i feel much better. It's par for the course! Take care
Thanks Bill - i enjoyed the ride !!!!
Sometimes it feels like trying not to fall makes the fall worse.
Ha, yes, sometimes!!!

Great vid. Like those vids from the past.
I felt like this towards the end of my sesh today. Also fell on my ass yesterday! Spent the rest of the sesh covered in salt! All part of the journey.
A salt skating!!!

How many miles do you skate on a typical assault skate session?
assault skate means sometimes the street can fight back and hurt you too! but i think you've won the match regardless

The only reason I watched this video was to see if Bill could power-stop on an icy road. I don't have the skills for a winter roll!

Awesome skating but with your type of skating you definitely need to wear a helmet.
Please wear helmets
