not forgotten. This lady has like 20 studio albums in Japan. They've had the 2nd largest music market in the world for the last few decades actually. I personally bought my first album from Japan in 1999. I thought by now South Korea might have caught up with Japan, with amount of music produced, but nope, they are still behind.
An electro-pop with a dash of mysticism & nostalgia. I don’t know if I read too much into it, but there are DEFINITELY some otherworldly timbres within those high notes and whispers of hers... And my good God, those drums...

at 1:57-2:25 sounds like something insert disc would do, yet this song was put out nearly 23 years before insert disc made his debutalbum . I am in love with this track
I’m literally listening to this for the first time and instantly searched and liked it. Fair to say, that the girl that put this is gonna get it, I’m sold.
if you like the more electronic stuff then listen to Yellow magic orchestra. and all the members solo stuff . haruomi hosono. ryuchi sakamoto , yukihiro takahashi ,................. logic system................ testpattern . loads of stuff on Yen Records. then of course these guys went on to film scores, computer game themes, and had a hand in producing many subsequent japanese pop artists . ( and before that marvellous pre-electronic stuff in the 70s )
***** It's really good to see another huge fan of YMO, I've been hooked on it for awhile. Their '83 concert is definitely one of my favorites. How do you usually listen to them medium-wise?

Seriously, thank you a lot! I've been obessed with this song for a while, but I couldn't find the lyrics, my japanese understanding is very limited! Do you have a blog or site with translations, if you usually do them? If you liked this song too I bet you have great taste. Thanks a lot again!
I’m reading “1Q84” (the third time I’m reading a Murakami novel), and when I read Murakami novels I usually like having music going to help set the mood. Anyways, I’m looking for some Japanese new wave to intersperse with the more traditional new wave songs, and this was one of the first songs I found when searching “Japanese New Wave”. So, I’m adding it to the playlist. Looks like I’m going to be doing a lot of exploring as far as music! (The first Murakami I read was “Norwegian Wood”, so that called for a lot of Beatles music and similar stuff, while the second one I read was “Kafka on the Shore” and that one I had jazz music playing.)
Does anyone has the full lyrics for this one ? It feels like she speaks french or English in the refrain ? I hear « La mer, tout est different » at 4:00 like I need to know what she is saying 😭

just discovered music of japanese 80s....where has all this music been my whole life!
+Mata Paulenova I'm late to the party too but this is awesome
+Cot Art yeah shud check out sum kimiko if u already havent
Try with the 90s too.
My thoughts exactly
+Maťa Paulenová Well it was in the 80s, so...depending on how old you are, this shouldn't be that hard to figure out.
anything involving haruomi hosono is bound to be a banger tbh
True!!!
anbuu - dadbuu
His voice also appears in this song @ 1:27.
Hes a wizard
the mixture of British 80s new wave and City pop lead me here and I am happy I found this beautiful gem.
Try Wednesday Campanella too.. Funky J-Pop and J---Rock and J-Rap...
Never heard this before. I feel my brain expanding like a newly born universe.
+Micah Buzan samehere i feel u. its pure art
Glad to find you here, man. Waiting for the new animation you are working on!
Once you start exploring 70-early 90 music you would soon forget about 99% of modern half-pop-half-EDM trash they throw at you nowadays.
Pls see a doctor if expanding continues for more than 4 hours

great thing about hosono is that there's always something else you haven't heard yet, and of course, never disappoints
best producer of all time and you've never heard all his stuff. and you're going to find a song that sounds like a miracle.
