10 month follow up on my lithium battery upgrade on the Mongoose. Spring is here and my bike sat for the long 4 months of winter without being used or charged at all. I put it on the charger to go for a ride last week when temps finally got into the high 60’s here and the charger topped up the batteries in about 15 minutes even after sitting all winter. I took an hour long ride (on and off road) and the bike performed exactly as it did last fall. In the past with the lead batteries, there was a significant drop off in capacity. This was not the case with the lithium batteries. In the past, I would rarely get 2 summers of riding out of a fresh set of lead acid batteries. This looks very promising and I’ll follow up again in a few months after putting in more hours this summer 👍

The batteries and charger I bought on Amazon and the adapter cable to connect the XLR charger to the Mongoose battery pack was found on electricscooterparts.com. Just search for MongooseCB24X450 and you’ll find it. I’d have to search for the exact Amazon links, but I didn’t post them previously because Amazon links tend to stop working after a while. Just found this same bike in a storage unit I bought in auction. Hopefully I can find the charger, if not I will order one. Cant wait to ride it. 😂
I ride mine all the time. With the lithium battery upgrade it goes about 18mph according to my speedometer app!
