      Of course what do I know, nothing, I am reading everything possible, he knows, his Drs Surgeons, Oncologist know.
      I adore his looks, his creative talent, writing, his voice, expressions, his knowledge. What isn't to dislike.

    Hi Paul… I wanted to tell you I read all your episodes about your young life. I am 65 and I got quite a kick out of your earlier years! I remember reading about your parents going to see you work at the bar, so when you just mentioned it I chuckled a bit. I have only been following you for a very short time, like a couple weeks perhaps and I must tell you, I often feel your words straight to my core. There is something about you…I will tell you this, if your updates stop for whatever reason and I am still here, I will remember you and the many talks you have shared. I hope someone will remember me in that way. You have a gift…keep sharing and teaching us. As a side note, I also grew up in the most loving, supportive and accepting Jewish family. I married a Catholic and raised the kids to make their own decisions. I practice Judaism in my own way. I do pray, why not…so I have been praying for you. 💙 Have a good night!

    Paul, I stumbled across your videos as I have also experienced a personal disaster losing the function of my wrist in a serious car accident, I was a tennis player and 23 years old and now just lost my career. It's funny how life can be all smooth, but everything can change one second later. I think it's a very useful analogy that you use in this video that we need to try and influence things positively but we are never actually in control, but that desire for control can destroy us emotionally. What we try to control will just end up controlling us.
    I saw a video yesterday and it said no matter how many times you fall you get up. The resilient person just gets up one last time and that's the difference. I commend you for what you are doing, your outlook and your positive force for the world. It has inspired me to try and rebuild my life now even though it will be a very long, hard journey. I genuinely wish you all the best sir.

    • @PaulinPerth

      And I wish the best for you John. Our lives are different of course, but for what it is worth, at 19 I lost my right index finger tip. Later on in life I broke my tibia and fibula on my right leg. All the way along my life my close-up eyesight has been fading. My hearing is fading. My hairline is receding. And of course, now I have terminal cancer.
      Have you ever been lucky enough to meet a three-legged dog? They are always so excited and wanting to play. They aren't thinking about the leg they lost. They are thinking about the three legs they have left.
      Paul.

    Hi mate, Just thought I'd say hi. I'm a newcomer to your channel but have enjoyed getting to know you a bit. You seem like such a nice dude and, as horrible as it is to see you have to go through all this, It's incredibly inspiring and genuinely reassuring that, even when faced with such a difficult situation, it's possible to still continue to have moments of joy, fun and peace. I'm 35 but have lost both parents - my Dad to cancer 14 years ago and my Mum to covid 2 years ago. Both were very difficult experiences in different ways. I know though that they both had ups and downs during their illnesses. Obviously this is also true for non-life threatening illness but I guess, until your own future or the future of a loved one is cast into such doubt, you never really know how you'll handle it. Seeing how my parents handled themselves has given me something to aim for whenever my time comes (if I'm lucky enough to get some kind of warning). Similarly, your attitude is absolutely amazing and, although we should never ever give up hope, just the fact you're being forced to contemplate your own mortality but still managing to keep such a balanced view is awesome. I'm also inspired by how interesting and varied your life has been. I have felt, for most of my life, that I'm not really living it very deliberately. For years, due to various issues, I've really just been surviving instead of living. Your videos and attitude to life have changed something in me and the thought of being more like you in future actually excites me. (Demolition Derby looks awesome! 😄) 🙂Cheers for the philosophy and openness. Thank you so much for being yourself! Whenever my time comes, if I can say I've experienced half the stuff you've done I'll consider my life a success. (If you met me and spoke to me you'd probably say "Matthew, what are you doing?! Get out there and live!" I promise you I will start now.) Your videos are great - if you keep making them, I'll keep watching them. 👍✌🤘💟
    To Laugh Often And Much by Ralph Waldo Emerson
    To laugh often and much;
    to win the respect of the intelligent people
    and the affection of children;
    to earn the appreciation of honest critics
    and endure the betrayal of false friends;
    to appreciate beauty;
    to find the best in others;
    to leave the world a bit better
    whether by a healthy child, a garden patch,
    or a redeemed social condition;
    to know that one life has breathed easier
    because you lived here.

    Paul, I recently stumbled upon your channel, and I want to begin by expressing my deepest sympathies. Your videos evoked a profound emotional response within me, prompting deep reflection on the past, present, and future. They instilled in me a newfound appreciation for the blessings in my life, especially my family and the precious commodity of time.
    When I was just twelve years old, I found myself hospitalized due to a condition that doctors initially misdiagnosed as cancer. They delivered the devastating news that my time was limited. In that solitary hospital room, waves of sadness, panic, and anger were the only things that I felt. However, I soon recognized that this was the hand I had been dealt in life, and there was no way altering that reality. This realization swiftly reminded me of the paramount importance of family, friends, and the value of time.
    Your videos served as a poignant reminder of these fundamental truths. Now, at the age of thirty-six, I find great inspiration in your courage, unwavering spirit, and the profound lessons you impart to others. Your legacy will undoubtedly be one of inspiration and guidance.
    As an avid car fan, I am eager to delve deeper into your channel, eager to uncover the multitude of lessons you have graciously captured and shared with the global audience. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to you, and I wish you strength and a profound sense of happiness, knowing that millions of viewers who engage with your videos will gain knowledge, be inspired, and find solace through the profound inspiration you have provided. I also have an inquisitive mind, and I think your Psychologist is giving you valuable perspective and peace of mind. Even though you are going through a health struggle, you still care about Legacy. Most people would turn inward and focus on their own mental and physical self, and yet you take your time and use it to better others, most of whom you do not personally know! How remarkable is that! What an incredible legacy you are creating, perhaps without knowing how much impact you are making. ❤ From 🇨🇦

I look forward to each of your videos, Iv done my exploring to learn more about you ( because you mentioned tid bits in a previous update), Iv been reading your Wingman content and with all that said- cheers to your parents! You are a hellova human! The YT algorithm sent me a recommendation to one of your Mazda3 videos recently. As a Mazda-driving Serpy local this seemed quite serendipitous, given that almost all of the other car-related media I watch comes from the other side of the world! I am subscribed not for your car stuff though: the approach you have taken towards your cancer diagnosis is the reason. Though it’s a hackneyed word nowadays, you are truly ‘inspirational’ in respect to the grace, courage and perspective you have so clearly communicated in your Cancer Update videos. I don’t have cancer but the randomness of the disease is that any one of us can ‘win’ this morbid lottery at any time. So your story is relevant to all of us, Paul. I wish you all the very best with it, mate.

It is great you are making these videos and documenting your life experiences, such as winning a demo derby, dancing, working on vehicles, etc. Some day, hopefully it will be many, many years down the road, your family will be able to watch these and learn more about you or rehash memories of you. I want to commend and thank you for putting this content out. When I first stumbled across your videos it was just purely out of coincidence thanks to the TH-cam algorithm. But now, I'm eating up this wisdom like it's a pie, I can't get enough. You've heard it from others here, but it must still be said: it's a remarkable thing that-faced with a difficult situation-you turn and radiate your energy outward, versus keeping it inward. You're a solid mentor, and a wonderful person! Cheers and support from Canada!

      @@PaulinPerth I do believe that miracles can happen especially to those that want to teach and help others . Unfortunately that was not my Paul’s case he was very high up at a telecoms and also taught people to dive at high level, he took so much knowledge with him but he also left a lot behind. The only thing that must be a comfort is the law in Perth that you have options if and when you have had enough.
      One question I would ask my Paul was would he do the same again, with the treatment side of things. The only symptom he had was a tiredness that was all encompassing and not like normal where you had a sleep and felt better.
      His was found by accident with a routine health scan , as soon as he knew he had cancer we went to the Maldives, but although it was lovely the future loomed rather scarily, but we still had some good times and some laughs.
      I will continue to hold you to my prayers and wish I could give you a big hug and notice the creepy way lol xx

    Love the demolition derby analogy! I am an analogy person too, Paul. I totally get that life unfolds for you in a way that requires you to make daily manouvres to keep you going generally in the desired direction but, as you say, sometimes obstacles can knock us temporarily out of action or force us to take completely different tacks. I guess our challenge is, when it gets really tough, to have an attitude of acceptance and to not lose our sense of hope. Thanks so much for sharing, Paul 😊

    BTW, my family was the same! I grown up in an artist family- i, myself am a painter, my dad was a surrealist artist, my mom a very esotheric woman!- and though i was born as a hungarian, i was growing up in Germany, travelled a lot, lived in the USA- Colorado- and France and Austria and Netherlands. I never had a "normal" job, just art or dancing and singing in rock / punk bands. I am a 57yrs old female but full of tattoes (on face too!) and piercings and i like different cultures and have gay and trans friends as well. (now living in Hungary which is not very great these days....) I like that you're also a free minded man with an interesting past. I found your vlog because it popped up and after i was listen to you i found you an interesting person and , my dad had cancer , so i started to follow - but it's GREAT that you are also from similar background with your parents and life like me, i also had lots of "wild" parties before in the 90's....

    Wow what an interesting session you had with your physiologist I should imagine it’s really helping you make sense of a lot of things. Your parents sound like they were wonderful human beings, no wonder you turned out so well 😉 you certainly have lived life to the fullest and crammed in so much more than the average person your age.
    I learnt at a very young age (around 8 years old) not to worry about things that we have no control of….. I was on my way to school on a warm summers afternoon without my coat and one of my friends Mums said “why haven’t you brought your coat it’s going to rain later, you’ll get wet on the way home” well I worried myself sick all afternoon which is laughable because I lived a hop, skip and a jump away from my primary school. Anyway I worried all afternoon and guess what …. It never rained! BUT I learnt I huge life lesson right there and then and it’s something I have never forgotten 😊
