- Forgeline and the Schardt family helped SVRA put on an all CORVAIR race at INDY in 2023 over fathers day weekend. How cool is this?

They seem safe enough at any speed.
I had a 65 Monza 110. Blue interior and blue exterior coupe. Are all these cars stock engines? I get the roll cage in the cars.
This was truly inspiring to watch.
Incredible camera work and editing.
My 1965 was a clean marine.
Didn’t leak a drop. I was only 28 when I bought it. I wish I knew what I really had in that car.
this is the best corvair vid ever!
Corvairs are Cool Cars!
Nice event, & promotion of Corvairs racing. I did like seeing the 64 out there, & competing with 2nd gen Corvairs. Nice run everyone.
Awesome! super fun to watch and would LOVE to participate. what GREAT cars!!!
You guys weren't foolin around - Dad had a 65 Corsa before I was born
❤
Corvairs are such cool cars! Would love to know how the '64 was set up to be able to hang with the IRS cars. I owned a '64 turbo Monza a LOOONG time ago and once in a while still page through the Bill Fisher Corvair book I've had for over 40 years.
2:01 Jim Schardt... A stalwart from the days in Miamisburg, Ohio where I grew up. My brother and dad ran the '66 Corsa in Miami Valley Touring Club autocross and rallye events. Both often mentioned Jim as among the guys who were fast and classy people. This was a fun video to watch. Brings great memories.
Got to flag it from station 2. These guys were not babying the Corvairs. Definitely throwing them about with the occasional rear axle lock up!
My first car was a 1964 Corvair Monza black with red interior. I paid $200.00 for it when I was 15 in 1974! It had belonged to a friend of my dad's and my dad told me to buy it! Lol
Probably worked on each and every one.
There weren't that many to begin with. 👍
My high school car; 66 Monza.
GM should have kept with it.The concept is sound, look at porsche.
Someone needs to learn heal-toe-braking and trail-braking.
These cars are before the days of power brakes so the heal-toe (rev match) technique doesn't work. If you payed attention the its obvious they did the trail-braking technique too.
