I’m an animator myself, and I’ve always wanted to make an indie show. I just never known how, and I’ve always been scared that people wouldn’t like it. But I’m pretty sure eventually I will.
Good luck! For example Alastor from Hazbin Hotel was a character that Vivziepop created all the way back in her middle school days and she kept onto the concept and idea until he finally became part of Hazbin Hotel. I think the secret is continuously creating things and always improving your craft and figuring out your art style.
This is such a lovely video, because I was just thinking about how different the animation world is vs. just 10 years ago. I like that we can pull from the larger pool of internet creators, and it's been fun to see creators expand from their early days. Never did I dream we would see animators from newgrounds gaining shows on cable, but I'm glad we got it ^^ I recently finished a rewatch of Over the Garden Wall, and it's wild to think that was 10 years ago already, and we don't have WAY more mini series done the way that one was, maybe we are finally hitting that era now? Super curious to see. Fantastic job on your research here, and well executed too (like always
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah things seem to be shifting in a massive way in the industry. It is odd that the miniseries trend never really took off. Yeah I think the new era is here, since there doesn't seem to be much going on in the TV animation landscape anymore while on TH-cam the indie side has been gaining more and more new ambitious ideas and pilots. I'm a big nerd when it comes to the shows I really like and I already knew most of the info from this video for a while now, so I just had to rewatch some podcasts and interviews to refresh my memory on some specific details and I'm happy with how it turned out in the end!
@SaberNalysis no its basically just its own subset of indie animation Object shows are reality show based shows where animated objects compete for a prize the animations are often made with flash Jacknjellify started the trend in 2010 and it has been its own community since it has its impacts like JnJ partnering with Adam Katz creator of the 2nd object show ever made inanimate insanity to release episodes in speacial tours in theaters Adam katz's show even got itself a movie which is split into 3 episodes on youtube ever since 2010 BFDI has done its own thing, attrating its audience with its biggest advantage letting the viewers decide who gets out its the big appeal for object shows the whole... interacting with the community by voting
I've always wanted to make my own series but I'm just not sure how I will afford that, my best option is to make comic dubs and hopefully be a part of indie animation once I can release a pilot for my series Nice video 🌟
Good luck! Yeah it seems that the best starting point is to simply put your idea out there in any way, shape or form and it can gradually evolve into something bigger with time. On Vivziepop's channel you can find concept videos for Hazbin Hotel characters that go back even 10 years ago. Thank you so much!
Awesome video, SaberNalysis!👍 Also SaberNalysis, can you make a video about indie animation vs Hollywood studios/companies vs Japanese anime studios, please?
Thank you, I appreciate it! Hm, that topic would require a good amount of research. Maybe at some point in the future, but I'm not sure though. Thanks for the suggestion! If you want more insight on specific Hollywood cartoons or indie animations, I highly recommend looking up interviews and podcasts with the creators of the shows, since it will give you some great insight on how things work behind the scenes. You can do the same thing for Japanese anime, but typically you can only find translated interviews in a text format, but they still offer a lot of insight!
I was thinking about this but Hazbin hotel is literally happy tree friends of the 2020s Think about it! Both shows got merchandise at hot topic Both shows got their start online Both shows apeals to edgy high schoolers And that’s probably why I love both shows yeah it’s not perfect but the biggest reasons why I love both shows is that it reminds me of being a kid in the 2000s Do you remember that mascot for sprite (who is this action figure?)
Happy tree friends is definitely one of the earliest examples of a successful web animated show. Lately I've seen that even Helluva Boss has been getting Hot Topic merch, which is really cool. I don't remember that Sprite mascot, but I grew up in both the US and Europe so that's why I may have missed it.

Honestly I’d love to hear it I’ve been writing this story (idea?)
After this weird movie I saw!

As a early animator myself.. I’m thinking of doing something like this. But will see how time will tell
A lot of web creators start small and gradually grow with each new project. Good luck!
Yknow Object shows honestly are pretty effective for indie animation
Like stop-motion?
@SaberNalysis no its basically just its own subset of indie animation
Object shows are reality show based shows where animated objects compete for a prize
the animations are often made with flash
Jacknjellify started the trend in 2010 and it has been its own community since
it has its impacts
like JnJ partnering with Adam Katz creator of the 2nd object show ever made inanimate insanity to release episodes in speacial tours in theaters
Adam katz's show even got itself a movie which is split into 3 episodes on youtube
ever since 2010 BFDI has done its own thing, attrating its audience with its biggest advantage
letting the viewers decide who gets out
its the big appeal for object shows
the whole... interacting with the community by voting
@SaberNalysis and admittedly BFDI s1 is VERY dated but thats simply due to how the twins made episodes every month at the age of 12 for 25 episodes
@@t1rkb841 Hmm, interesting information, thanks for sharing!
@SaberNalysis the thing is, the OSC as we call it is a very niche community
BFDI isn't even allowed on Wikipedia for some reason
I've always wanted to make my own series but I'm just not sure how I will afford that, my best option is to make comic dubs and hopefully be a part of indie animation once I can release a pilot for my series

I personally think Morder drones by Glitch is the best indie series of all time
I have to say a great video
Thanks! Glad to hear you enjoyed my video!
i cant wait to finish mine lol
Good luck, keep going!
