    "The reason we love this chocolate. It's because it's filled with air. It only means it's less chocolate" Haha! Having watched a bunch of your other videos about the Norwegian outlook on things, this fits perfectly with why Norwegians would encounter excitement at such a find. Great stuff Ronald and Mads.

      The first one is strange because she shape of the chocolate reminds me of an Aero bar but the inside of it looks like a Wispa bar.
      Apparently the chocolate that we love the most, and that’s dearest to our hearts is the one we grew up eating because it reminds us of a simpler and happier time in our lives. In the UK that’s obviously Dairy Milk, or anything else made by Cadbury.

    I`m glad to see number two is Kvikk Lunsj, kitkat (Nestle) have spent 10 years trying to stop them from making them as they said the design belonged to them. In fact, I’ve tasted sweets from the same makers/brands... and the US version is often sweeter than the European version. (I’m am European immigrant to the US and even after 30 years... I still retain my “European preference” for less sweet.)

    Very amusing video guys, when I visit Norway I hope to see one of those blue dancing cows, we don't have of those in my country.
    How expensive are chocolates in Norway? I've heard many Norwegians travel to Sweden to buy candies and chocolates since they're much cheaper there.

    • @YOURWAY2NORWAY

      Hi Noctilucent. Hehe, spring is dancing blue cow season. It's true, prices are lower in sweden and norwegians buy a lot of sweets there. But norwegians are not so in love with swedish chocolate brands, we prefer our own.

    • @marshallburns8762

      Noctilucent. Chocolate from Norway is not expensive to an extent. For a companion, a loin bar might be £1.20 that’s about $2.50 in the USA or around 250 kroner. Depending on the market and value of the money at the time. If you plan on shipping anything from Norway to the USA, then for 1 candy bar you would be looking at $13-15 dollars £6.5- 8 English pounds depending on how far away you are will determine how much it would be. Hope this helps. 😁

    Most American chocolate tastes like wax. Dove is good though, and Symphony bars. Someone brought me chocolate back as a gift when they went overseas. One was kitkat. Is this a joke? It tasted better than American kitkat. I thought it was all made in the same factory then shipped? I don't know. But maybe this kitkat sitting on the shelf with all this much better European chocolate made it adapt? LOL

    • @rosieoutlook24
      @rosieoutlook24 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      In England, the Kit Kat bar is made by Nestle, in America by Hershey. Rowntree of England (who developed the bar) was bought by Nestle but Hershey already had a licensing agreement to the bar for sale in the US. Japan has lots of varieties of Kit Kat tailored by Nestle for their tastes. The US just has white, dark and milk.

    • @scandisnowgirl3696
      @scandisnowgirl3696 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      European standards for what you can label chocolate is much higher than in the US so the formula is probably different here. No one would buy the stuff they sell in the US. Its waxy bc it actually does contain wax and has very little cocoa solids in it (they use a flavouring called chocolate liqueur, a by product of separating the cocoa solids from the cocoa butter, which ends up having a burnt kind of vomity aftertaste) so they would have to call it chocolate flavoured candy here lol

    Your #2 is similar to what we call a Kit Kat bar if the center is like a crispy wafer. If the center is more like biscuit--what we call cookie--it would be like Twix bars.
    Number one, Melksjokolade, is like the Hershey bar here in the U.S. and that may be the favorite here yet. Our soldiers carried them and gave them to children and others after the victory in WWII.
    When I was about 8 years old candy was still a real treat for kids and not eaten every day, all day long. I had a nice box of Valentine chocolates, probably from my dad. I commented on your video about Tran that my mother gave that to me in the winter and I actually like the taste. That bottle fell over on the shelf, leaked and soaked the chocolates. It was not a good combination but it might be a great hit in Norway?
    The dancing, blue cow with full frontal nudity and swinging udder looks obscene some way. I don´t remember ever seeing a happy, dancing cow cartoon with an udder like that.
    The ¨melk¨ in Melksjokolade must = milk. Some linguists think a few words we use today must have come from an original, primordial language. Milk/melk is one of those words as it sounds similar in many languages around the world. (It is also interesting how the j works in Norwegian words, at least a couple words in this video. I have a special project and I need to know about a lot of different languages. I never thought to look at Norwegian but I think I just learned something important.)

    As a Norwegian(Scandinavian) i thought licorice was just as common candy around the world as chocolate is.
    But i have discovered that for example people from South America and Asia find licorice very strange as a candy, and many of them have never even tasted it..
