    Thanks for the video, Norway is nothing short of being spectacular. I went to Bardufoss a bit further up, such a stunning part of the world.

      @worldwildhearts  ปีที่แล้ว

      yes absolutely beautiful! Never been to Bardufoss but it looks pretty from what I see on google!

    • @Dan-fo9dk
      @Dan-fo9dk 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      What does it mean that Bardufoss is "a bit further up"....??? ....altitude ....north?
      Yeah Bardufoss centre is inland at 78 meter ...and Tromsø main street is 10-14 meter at the coast. So it is higher up. But if you talk about north/south. Than you are only correct if you hold the map upside-down. Bardufoss is a drive of 130 km south of Tromsø.

    • @magirusdeutzjupiter2234

      @@magirusdeutzjupiter2234 I'll tell you a story about which way is up. Many years ago I was in USA for the first time. My experience with being in an English speaking country was 3-4 days in the UK before I flew to Los Angeles. I came there late in the evening. I had to take two different bus lines within LA in order to get to the main bus station for my bus to San Diego. After the first bus I had to walk through some streets in east LA ....maybe ....I have no idea exactly where....in order to find the next bus. I ask a person if he knew where the bus stop could be found. He didn't know, but he could for sure tell me that it was dangerous to walk around like I did with so much criminality around. I assured him that don't worry my friend I will not do them anything. A little later I found a police patrol on a street corner and walked over to them in order to ask if they knew where I could find the bus.
      The police said to me "what's up". I was very surprised over this question and though how can I ask them about direction ....when they don't know what is up or down....???? I asked them if they really were police. Yes indeed they said. Ok...ok...I said and pointed high up in the air....that way is up I said....
      I am glad that I have contributed to the education of police in LA ....but honestly I think they should have learned this in kindergarten....

    Hi. Zac and Ine. I love all of your videos! I live in Tromsø and I think you did a great job showing the diversity of Tromsø (the nature, the city and different things to do). Just a small note about the Midnight sun. In Tromsø you can see the Midnight sun from mid-May to mid-July (not until mid-June as said in the video). BTW, you got the name of the Blåisvatnet in the Lyngen Alps correct. Although It is sometimes called Blåvatnet. (without «is» in the middle). «Is» means ice, so the name translates to «the Blue Lake» or «the Blue ice Lake»

    • @worldwildhearts
      @worldwildhearts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for clarifying!! We were so confused by the two names used for Blåvatnet, but now it makes all sense. We actually found that a lot in Norway, different names (similar but different) for a mountain or hike lol. I think the mid-June was a mistake written because in my script I had "18 May to 26 July" for the Midnight Sun! Makes sense as the 21st of June is the longest day of the year. Sorry for that, but thanks for pointing that out!

    • @worldwildhearts
      @worldwildhearts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not 100% sure since we were there in August ourselves so no snow then. We did find this information about weather in October from the Visit Tromso website: “Put on your wool and warmest jacket and join the Arctic Winter Wonderland in Tromsø. We usually see the first snow in October, and from there on it gets darker (and colder) day by day.”

  • @Dan-fo9dk

    I don't know where you've got the idea from of what you call "polar night season" in Tromsø.
    I have to inform you that such a season does not exist. No where on the Scandinavian / European mainland (hence including Tromsø) are there at any point "polar night". The only place in Norway were you can experience such is Svalbard. The definition for polar night is 24h darkness at the shortest day of the year 21.Dec(normally) on the northern hemisphere. The absolute southern border for polar night on the shortest day of the year is at just under 72,5 dgr. N latitude.

      Silliest comment I have ever seen! My trip to Tromsø was one of my favorite vacations I have ever been on. I rode on a dog sled, learned about the history of polar expeditions, saw the northern lights, fed reindeer and learned about Sami culture, the only protected indigenous group in Europe. It was gorgeous and fascinating and when I went, in February, it seemed absolutely otherworldly, still and quiet with dancing lights above, it felt like being on another planet. Just because it’s not Hawaii or Rome or Paris or something doesn’t mean it isn’t a great place to visit.
