- Dashcam footage from the collision involving lorry driver Ion Onut on the A1(M) on Thursday, July 15, 2021 in which three people died.

I was in that Toyota Aygo in the bottom right corner of the screen. I was a nurse but have been left disabled for life by the "Suicide Disease" (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) as well as neurological disorders mainly effecting my short term memory but the BBC chose not to interview me for their documentary for no reason and the lorry driver will only serve 4yrs and 5months in prison yet I won't be able to EVER run again and possibly also never walk again without severe pain even when using walking aids at short distances.

The worst thing,although the whole thing is horrendous,is that people STILL USE MOBILE PHONES when driving ANY vehicle,coaches,cars,trucks,articulated lorries.I see plenty of them EVERYDAY.

Sadly it's true. He got jailed for more than 8 years. Hopefully the maximum penalty death by dangerous driving 14 years. Or plus
I'm an easily distracted person. And have made it my personal choice not to drive. I am also a nervous passenger.
I had one lesson. Main reason is i would never want to harm others.
A car is a weapon. This makes me feel sick. If you are a driver you HAVE to be responsible!

@@alisonharte76 you can give another try to see , or have couple of lessons and if you still feel that bad the decision is yours and will be a wise one for sure. If family keep pressuring make sure you take a good stand and let them know where is the line and request not to cross it. Your decision and this is it. They can't force you to do what they want! Be strong ! Don't let them play with your brain :) take the decision you feel and want :)

This lorry driver was irresponsble it wasn't dependent on his Gender.

I think it should be a instant ban if you get caught driving while using a mobile phone and all hands free should be outlawed too.

This crash could have so been easily avoided. It’s the ignorance of the lorry driver and the choice to use his phone. It is evident that none of the other victims were on their phones as they stopped in time for the traffic.
Also the white Toyota aygo and the red car were at a safe distance from each other. The fact the cars were swung into each other shows the force of the lorry. Disgusting, I hope the families of everyone involved and the victims who are still alive are beginning to find peace 💗

If you don't have any passion for driving you shouldn't be allowed to drive.
Do you think he was driving a lorry for the "passion" of it? He was doing a job to feed his family. And feed yours, probably. If you want to live in a world with none of the products driving brings you then fine. But I doubt you do.

I drive on the motorway M6 daily and it's scary how many truckers are on their phone.
I was on the way back home on the bus just after this happened seeing the after math. Rip.
In the US it's rare to see someone driving without their phone in their hand or in a holder with some kind of content on it. Sadly teens are 20's are the worst and they die the most.

Totally avoidable, but when a persons attention is focused elsewhere, instead of on what they are doing, life around them is in the balance.
No punishment will be make up for reckless stupidity actions.
This is the type of constant bs I have with lorry HGV drivers, these mugs don’t understand how powerful the machine they’re driving, Iv seen some of them trying to overtake me on the m25 going 70+ mph on an overtaking lane, regardless driving from most of them,
I don't understand why people think that using a phone behind the wheel is a good idea. However, I still don't understand one thing in this story, how the lorry driver managed to slip his phone into his pocket at the moment of this horrible crash.
The lorry, weighing so much more that the vehicles it hit, wouldn't have felt much of a bump. You can see from the video that it took several seconds to stop, plenty of time for the idiot driver to try and cover his tracks.

Those deaths didn't look very instant.
What? You couldn’t actually see the cars the deaths happened in from these angles. One car was completely crushed and mangled under the truck, the other was crushed and knocked off camera. Bothe from the after pictures look instant.

These lorry drivers are so irresponsible! Whenever I drive on the motorways and get back home safe I thank God that I wasn’t mown down by a lorry or a van.

hey i saw a much worse one in Texas... they were on a toll road and it was black ice which is unusual for texas, and all the vehicles just SLAMMED into each other. There were a couple miracles.. but of course it was horrific. Look, the threshold for horror is so HIGH.. that people have compromised absolutely EVERYTHING.. just so they can keep doing the things they do. The entire species is caught in a psychosis.. as evidenced by doing nothing different.. making no changes... just continuing on doing it all over again the next day.. but with different players and different sacrifices. Daily toll.. daily toll .
