My uncle who just turned 100 owned 3 trucking businesses. The only ever mishap he had was leaving a milk tank trailer improperly secured at 2 am whilst having to reverse his truck to pump milk in a tight location. Trailer broke loose and damage a house. He choose 1 day jail to avoid loosing his license.( that was in Switzerland around 50 years ago) Sometimes I wonder why US trucks do not have a huge sign on the dash given the clearance?
It's surprising what trucks do and don't, ALL school buses are required to have them in my state as are all commercial chassis emergency vehicles, they have it printed in bold above the windshield, there's a bridge nearby that a few of our trucks can't go through, the rig itself clears but the overhead emergency lights or water cannons won't, some fckwit found that out the hard way, destroyed a $3K state-of-the-art light bar that was designed to be low profile but wasn't low enough to clear that particular bridge
Because it is a clear requirement to obtain a commercial driver's license in the US that you know the height of any truck you are driving. You are supposed to verify the height of your vehicle with a tape measure during your pre-trip inspection if you've never driven that truck/load before.
If you look carefully, it's not the bridge itself. There's a VERY sturdy crossbar set up right in front of it, which is what the trucks are hitting: it either stops the truck cold or peels off anything that's high enough to hit the bridge. Either way, the bridge stays completely undamaged (which you definitely want when there are freight trains going over it) and someone just has to replace that crossbar every so often.
They give you a huge flashing warning sign and everything. Further proof that there are way too many morons on the open road who have no business having a drivers license. It’s a scary world out there man.
We have a low bridge in downtown Dover NH. We don’t seem to have a problem because trucks simply are not allowed on that portion of road. Great compilation. I love watching these videos.
We don't have such problems in Europe either, as we don't have these cheap Penske-Trucks here, trucks for hiring are small "Sprinter" trucks which are only 3,2m high, so that they fit under every bridge, and real trucks are only allowed to be driven by people with a C license,
@@acmenipponair Must be nice to have sensible regulations. I don't even trust comparatively small box trucks (on the order of 5.5m or less) let alone those giant uhaul and penske trucks that get to be 8m+. None of them require special licensing, so you can never know if they're in the hands of someone experienced or someone who has never driven anything larger than a smart-car.
I love that the bridge is given a personality lol. I would've killed myself laughing, sitting at the traffic light. Few things are more satisfying than watching a box truck gut itself after blowing through a solid red. Or watching an RV shave its A/C units off.
Wow -the crash beam visibly moves on its mountings at 03:30. That is some momentum. I wonder who cleans up the displaced crud - is there an enterprising scrap metal dealer nearby? I guess that aluminium scrap is valuable...

it's because of these videos I measured the height of each work vehicle we have and printed out labels near the steering wheel with their heights in imperial and metric.
Someone elsewhere claimed spanish speaking drivers who can't read the signs. I call BS on that one, numbers are the same in every language. Imperial v. Metric is BS too, even if the sign was in the opposite measurement system, like if I was in Europe or something, most people with above a moron IQ have a general sense of the other system. Those trucks and the campers have their height show right on the side somewhere. < > is an easy comparison. No sympathy.
I was thinking that last flatbed was going to try and turn the corner and then take something out on the inside of the corner. This video just shows why I avoid getting too close to rental straight trucks.
Long time no see!!! Welcome back. I guess you were away due to the construction on the bridge. Very nice how they tried to make it a little bit better…. Still not enough though 😹
We have a bridge like this near me. They realized they could shave off a few inches of the bridge because it was over engineered when built. And also shave some of the bitumen. All up about 8 inches of extra clearance was gained.
why did the first car in the clip just let the truck back into him. was he trying to get insurance money? wouldnt he get denied because he had time to get out of the way?
I noticed a lot of the trucks are just BARELY too tall. They look like they'd fit but they're an inch or two too tall and they scrape the bottom of the bridge (at least a few of them had enough sense to go up to the bridge SLOWLY so they could stop if the thing jammed)
I have a bridge on front of the building where I work, and trucks get stuck under it all of the time. It’s also only wide enough to fit one vehicle through at a time, so when a truck gets stuck, the road closes down for an hour or two. Would be nice if the put up a pole a hurdled feet before the bridge to help prevent people from getting stuck.
What I WOULD like to see is what each of these drivers actually does AFTER the carnage. Perhaps speed up with video showing what drivers do with all the debris (?) .....just a thought🤣😎 .
I think someone has raised that before. The person who owns the cameras did have one set up at the other side of the bridge to capture the reactions of drivers, but I believe the police etc told him to take it down. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong on that though :)

Damn, I can see why you call it the Can Opener! Some of those trucks just get peeled right open!
1:17 miller truck was definitely laughing thru their horn there
Wow! I found this channel the first time you uploaded in three years!
…and the last :(
1:06 best hands down..an 18wheeler attempting to clear the bridge...almost a clean top cut.
My goodness! The bridge even tells you, in lights, that you are too tall. Lmao!
There must be a Ryder rental place down the street! AND, 2:57, that guy deserved it!! Ran the red light way late!!
The light turns red if you are too high
5:45. Triple gainer from the smokestack.
This has to be the best damn bridge ever built
Edit: id set up some lawn chairs.
I'll bring the beer
If you look carefully, it's not the bridge itself. There's a VERY sturdy crossbar set up right in front of it, which is what the trucks are hitting: it either stops the truck cold or peels off anything that's high enough to hit the bridge. Either way, the bridge stays completely undamaged (which you definitely want when there are freight trains going over it) and someone just has to replace that crossbar every so often.
I'd set up a scrap yard for reclaiming metal and plastic kerbside - Jeez, I'd be getting it all for free every day!
@@museonfilm8919 The guy who owns the camera setup picks up the scrap and sells it.
Now, that's 6 minutes and 16 seconds of some good ol' fashion laughter. Thank you.
At last, you've created a support page. Bought you a coffee, thanks for your work!
Cheers Zsombor!
It's not even his own videos these are videos from another TH-cam channel.
@@FuzzThePiGuy which channel is that? Can you please show me a link where these videos are uploaded first?
Just to clarify the plagium.

4:18 was so fun to watch
All the red-light runners are great!
Gotta love the ones that can make it with just a scratch.
i do have a special place in my heart for the ones that see the sign but too late and desperately try to slow down in vain
There needs to be a camera on the other side of the bridge that shows the drivers faces while they are fully engaged in their moment of stupidity.
The Roadside cleaners in this area must have busy schedule 😅
Thank you for bringing great joy to my life!! Aren't you taking these videos from your apartment? I would LOVE it if you turned it into an AirBnB!!
I love that the bridge is given a personality lol. I would've killed myself laughing, sitting at the traffic light. Few things are more satisfying than watching a box truck gut itself after blowing through a solid red. Or watching an RV shave its A/C units off.
Lots of red light runners. Also seems to be a high percentage of rental trucks
Wow -the crash beam visibly moves on its mountings at 03:30. That is some momentum. I wonder who cleans up the displaced crud - is there an enterprising scrap metal dealer nearby? I guess that aluminium scrap is valuable...
0:47 i love how everyone just stops what their doing and just stares in shock lmao
I feel sorry for everyone who has a mishap. Except... when the RVs lose their air conditioners I just have to laugh. And then there are the drivers who come to almost a complete stop, but don't get out and look. That was fun seeing the train pass over!
it's because of these videos I measured the height of each work vehicle we have and printed out labels near the steering wheel with their heights in imperial and metric.
Suprised some of these truck drivers have licenses, cant even read the overheight sign 🤦♂️
EVERY TIME I hear that crunching sound, I can’t help myself a nearly bust a bellystrang laughing so hard!
I love when the go through at ramming speed!
hats off to you, 4:17 was clean
i really hope this place gets a live stream camera. be fun to watch people drive around this bridge in not hit it
I was thinking that last flatbed was going to try and turn the corner and then take something out on the inside of the corner.
This video just shows why I avoid getting too close to rental straight trucks.
Long time no see!!! Welcome back. I guess you were away due to the construction on the bridge. Very nice how they tried to make it a little bit better…. Still not enough though 😹
The fact that some of these guys just keep driving like nothing happened kills me! 😅
We have a bridge like this near me. They realized they could shave off a few inches of the bridge because it was over engineered when built. And also shave some of the bitumen. All up about 8 inches of extra clearance was gained.
They did it here. It went from 11+8 to 12+4 about halfway in the video. Not much changed-it catches bigger trucks now.
The can opener has been responsible for so many career changes...
I think what makes this so sad, is they're almost all running the light
3:57 bro stood there to give a shoulder to the train 😂
@0:57 hey the train tried to warn them. LMAO
You'd think Penske and Ryder would have a "yo don't try to drive under the can opener bridge" module in orientation by now.
why did the first car in the clip just let the truck back into him. was he trying to get insurance money? wouldnt he get denied because he had time to get out of the way?
Probably
Whas a woman
@@trailerparkboys3390 whas a woman

I just had that happen to me, when I tried to reverse i ended up in the middle of gears so i couldn't move, I still got full insurance payout.
That is one well braced beam. Just like my barber, " I'm gonna take just a little off the top." 🤣🤣🤣
Hell yeah ! Do you have any footage of last second save made by truckers ?
I could watch these all day
I noticed a lot of the trucks are just BARELY too tall. They look like they'd fit but they're an inch or two too tall and they scrape the bottom of the bridge (at least a few of them had enough sense to go up to the bridge SLOWLY so they could stop if the thing jammed)
3:35 bro is that the same guy that flew under there
I have a bridge on front of the building where I work, and trucks get stuck under it all of the time. It’s also only wide enough to fit one vehicle through at a time, so when a truck gets stuck, the road closes down for an hour or two. Would be nice if the put up a pole a hurdled feet before the bridge to help prevent people from getting stuck.
4:17 was a smooth perfect peel
What I WOULD like to see is what each of these drivers actually does AFTER the carnage. Perhaps speed up with video showing what drivers do with all the debris (?) .....just a thought🤣😎
.
I think someone has raised that before. The person who owns the cameras did have one set up at the other side of the bridge to capture the reactions of drivers, but I believe the police etc told him to take it down. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong on that though :)
The full videos sometimes do. Each clip in this video is from a longer individual video
Many other videos show the infamous "reverse of shame."
