This is my first attempt at Hydro Dipping a Guitar body painted with a White primed surface. Guitar used is an Overture Guitars Evolvoture Guitar body.
Nice job!! I see a lot of videos about this but no one ever says what the next step is. They all look like they have a bubbly finish, or is it it just water bubbles that smooth out when it dries? Do you just leave it like that or do you sand it and clear coat?
Yes, it is water beads after it is dipped. They water eventually dries and then you after it cures you can put a top coat clear finish over it. I prefer an automotive clear coat. I tried a lacquer finish and it seemed to want to lift the paint in a few spots.
Nice job!
Awesome. I've been wanting to try this.
You totally should! I want to do more products with it.
Crazy. Looks like something Steve Vai might like. What kind of paint to you use for this?
The paint is called Magic Marble paint. Yes, Steve Vai has a guitar with the swirl patterns.
