- It's about freakin' time. NERF has started it's own NERF Retro Line with the NERF Retro Sharp92 Blaster, a... LMTD? Not LMTD? Blaster? Remake of the 1992 NERF Sharpshooter? In a probable line because it calls out, "NERF Retro Blasters"? While it isn't exactly the same as the original, it's apparently been faithfully redone as a modern MEGA dart blaster, with official MEGA suction darts and even includes a sticker sheet! For only $30 USD... wait that's a lot of money for a NERF MEGA Nite Finder, but it's also potentially the start of something great! And greatly expensive!

Updated internals to modern standards and safety standards... so I'm expecting tiny PT as the longshot got.
What’s wrong with the icon line? The Icon Longshot was upgraded as well as the Element and Spectre.

Walcom, Walmarts line of blasters is sold in Walmart in the US. Hasbro has to adhere to toy gun standards in like 20 other countries, so their regulations are much more strict than just US standards.

I know that nerf is basically towing the line when it comes to muzzle energy for toys in Germany. It's very obvious that neither they nor their competitors really believe there's a market for foam flinging that would be age restricted and would thus compete with Airsoft.
You can't even legally buy any rival blaster here.

Heck yeah, the manta ray is the best suggestion for retro line!! I hadn't even thought of that one. The 95 crossbow would be cool to use (and be able to talon-convert without feeling bad) but there's no doubt they'd nerf the PT size. So I'm stuck holding my crossbow periodically and never firing it again.
Did you know that The Manta ray is compatible with rival rounds.

I’m not a young kid, but I am 20, meaning all of these 90s blasters are well before my time. Depending on the price of the sharpshooter, I very well may get myself one, but I would really love to get a 95 crossbow. The mod potential looks great, but it also just looks like a fun toy in general.
So excited for people to try to resell the new crossbows as the vintage ones

from what I can tell, the new Sharpshooter uses much brighter colors than the old one. a Royal Blue instead of a Navy, a Bright orange instead of a dark one...though the pinks used in the trigger, Pulley, and dart-storage seem to be about the same. it's likely just a matter of "We simply use better plastic today" than any intentional changes to the colors.
I’m excited for this line to see old blasters come back for me and other nerfers to see. The blasters I would like to see is the rachet blaster, roto track, forgot the name but it’s a dragon that’s crank operated, the crossbow, and the electric eal or the com link
I think the crank one you are talking about is the Razorbeast and I would absolutely love for that to come back too.
3:20 that caught me off guard a bit
I don't even play Nerf anymore but I would absolutely pay a solid chunk of money for a Lock N' Load and a Rapid Fire 20 in the original coloring just to put them on a shelf somewhere. Those blasters were a huge part of my childhood and that was my loadout at pretty much every Nerf war I went to from when I got my first Nerf blaster (which was the Lock N' Load) until like 2010 when I pretty much stopped playing Nerf and moved into paintball and eventually airsoft. I'd like to have them just for the nostalgia.
If you want to get crazy with it, reintroduce the RF20, reinforce the priming handle (the major point of failure of the originals), make the drum/cylinder thing detachable, and sell extra drums on the side. I think a full-auto air-powered gun with a decent capacity and fantastic out-of-box rate of fire and range could legitimately have a place next to modern Nerf guns if it didn't take over a full minute to reload and prime a drum that you can dump in like 4 seconds. It also probably has solid mod potential; I was never much of a Nerf modder but I'm willing to bet you could modify the RF20 to take a paintball/airsoft-style HPA system that would remove the need to pump the blaster before firing it. Add in a detachable drum and a place to mount some kind of sights or an optic and you have a legitimately functional if slightly ridiculous-looking support weapon even compared to modern blasters.
Mine would be the Secret Shot that's in the background of that Nerf Retro Line video. Mainly because I love how useful it would be for countering ambushes. Imagine someone's behind you, you could fire a dart back at them without drawing it from your holster.
I absolutely love to see the Sharpshooter. Although I would love to see the return of the Chainblazer. Who needs drums with a chain that can keep going??
Much like in real life, having something that fires two different types of ammo is a game changer.

Four blasters I’d really want to see modern versions of are the Triple Strike, Supermaxx 5000, Manta Ray and the pen blaster
Oh man! I had SO many of these Nerf blasters when I was a kid. I still remember opening up my arrow storm on Christmas morning.
I would gladly pay up to $250 for them to re-release the '95 crossbow. As long as they bring back the old arrows and the original mega darts, just shut up and take my money hasbro. I would do anything to be able to play with it again and re-live my childhood.
To answer the question you asked at the end of the video, mine would be the old Secret Shot you mentioned. I have loved that blaster from the first time I saw it and I have one I modded that I am very happy with. Over the years, I have had fantasies about them rereleasing it and how they would do it today, and naturally you can imagine I am thinking about this even more now. It's a blaster that I think still has a place in the hobby nowadays and if they rerelease it, I look forward to seeing what they may do with it.
I'm liking the idea of this Retro line, but I can't help be a little paranoid it may go the way the Ghost Ops and Icon line and not have many releases, but I hope to be wrong. I am also a little concerned about what internal changes they're going to make because I have a sneaking feeling that Sharp92 will have a smaller plunger tube and possibly a weaker spring, but that's just speculation. Regardless, I am very optimistic about this line and can't wait to see what becomes of it!
Really looking forward to this retro line, similar to what we saw from the super soaker remakes.
Remember all the Red Vs Blue Nerf Tag stuff, the magstrike was much beloved, and it hit hard , oh and I miss the tag vests and the glasses.

7:40 I would love to get my hands on a Secret Shot because I always dreamed of being in a Nerf war with my not-so-nerfers friends who only have single shooters while I have a Secret Shot, and I would run out of ammo and be in a holdup and "save" myself with the second dart. However, I wouldn't pay more then 20 bucks for it because I'm not a retro nerfer who would buy it at any price for nostalgia.
I commented in your "NERF Ultra seems to be running out of ideas." (you replied too thanks :D) video about remaking old-school blasters as Ultra. I still think that would work, but this is exciting to see.
I had a Manta I got as a kid in the 90s, and I don't remember getting rid of it, but for the life of me I can't find it. I'm convinced it got "lost" in a move a while back just like all my Street Sharks toys.
I'd love to see the Nerf Vortex Tornado make a return (yeah, that thing that fires weird rubber rings). I've got an original with all of the ammo (though i could only find 2 of them recently, i know i have them all), and that original ammo just flew. i'd easily launch them things over 120ft firing flat. it's really interesting watching an ammo type flying so slowly, yet going so far.
I loved this blaster so much! Weren't there like 2 styles? I have a carbine version and its my fave ever, but impossible to source replacement ammo.
Dewd. The Secret Shot and the Chain Blazer were my 90’s Nerf JAM! I’d would make it rain to have those blasters remade to modern quality.
I like designs of almost all the classic blasters and all the colors I think recreating them in the modern day would be awesome as well as improving blasters that had major flaws that we're still really cool

I definitely would love to have the roto track blaster again, it is just so iconic to me.
I still have few in storage. But I think they would do well to release a new stryfe. Especially in the Elite color scheme. But of course they would do something stupid like glue it shut, so it doesn't really matter.
I used to have a NERF Tech Target Eliminator, released back in the early 2000s. I loved it. Sadly, it was destroyed in a house fire. Would love to see it brought up to modern standards.
Did it have the N-in-a-circle logo, the current logo, or the 2003 "NERF" logo?
I don’t even remember which logo was on it. The house fire was over 10 years ago.

Don’t get too excited for the crossbow. If we know modern hasbro we know that they’re probably going to clip/glue it together and use a much smaller plunger tube so that it will be useless for modders. We know this from the icon longshot where they specifically targeted modders who were excited to be able to get one of the most moddable blasters new.
More N-strike stuff... Please. As a younger kid, I wasn't given the luxury of owning these super cool blasters.

Absolute musts for me are the Lightnin Blitz and Rapid fire 20. I need a pistol shotgun thingy, and an air powered, front stuffing dart hose.
7:42 Pulsator Pulsator Pulsator PULSATOR!!!! Because I have the original one that I got from a goodwill that I would love to compare, and I would also like to have some ballistic balls to give my pulsator actual use, besides being a decoration object like a king’s decor musket.
I remember the 92 blaster. You could get them at yard sales for fifty cents in the 90s because all the darts got lost and you couldn't just buy a 200 pack of extra darts like you can today.
First Nerf blaster was a Sharpshooter ll, but I will definitely pick up this new Sharp92. I would really like to see a re-release Razorbeast as well as it was my second blaster.
Id like to see the 95 Crossbow. That’s a given. Apart from that, the original Secret Shot would be a nice thing to see. The air-powered one. They mod very well and very easily.
One blaster from the past I would like to see is the warthog from the nerf maxforce line, it's almost like a double barrel pistol

Nerf Sharpshooter was amazing, first thing I did was take the suction cups off mine, it was much more fun that way, I guess I was ahead of my time lol
Oh, man. I want the crossbow AND the bow to come back. I never got to have them as a kid, but my cousins did and I always wanted them desperately lol. If they came out nowadays, I’d run them as primary and secondary, and it’d be a blast.

Dude, the Secret Shot and Ratchet blast were the first nerf blasters I ever had as a kid. a revamped Secret shot with the gimmick intact would be so cool.

Upgraded Ratchet blast that has a 6 shot cylinder for Elite darts. Seriously, if they just make it a bit more updated, the Ratchet Blast could make most stock Hammershots obsolete except for that 8 cylinder one.
This line shows a lot of promise, I’m really looking forward to it. I’m holding out for a new Lightning Blitz personally

The ballzooka would be an easy one to remake because even tho they don’t make the ballistic balls anymore if they made a rival compatible one that would honestly be tempting
I want the NB-1, as it's the only actual retro nerf blaster in my collection. I also want the Pulsator, as it's been a blaster I've been wanting for a long time, but I never had the time nor money to get one with its box. So, to have a remade, hopefully, better version of it would be a dream.

I really hope they bring the Manta Ray back. I forgot I even had it as a kid until I watched your video on it. And it's stupid expensive second hand. The only Nerf blasters I had as a kid were that and the original bow and arrow. So, probably why I'm so huge into it as an adult now. But man I'd love to have what few I had as a child back.

If we're talking rereleasing old Nerf blasters... the Nerf Atomic Blaster "Reactor" is chief on my list. I had one when I was a very young kid some 15-16 years ago now and dammit I want another as a display piece if nothing else xD
Also, an OG Maverick Rev-6 maybe? None of the other six-shooter blasters have been quite as much... fun to use in my mind as the Maverick. Not to dunk on the newer ones too hard but if they're going to have Nerf stuff that should be one.

I’d love a “deluxe” sling fire that hits harder, comes with a pair of 10 or 12 (yes I said 10, as we may not get the 12) round magazines, and maybe has a bit more rugged internals. Love the sling fire but I feel like they break easily due to the fact that they’re so reliant on gears and a slightly flimsy lever…

Hasbro needs to start thinking of countries other than the US market. You don’t typically see these blasters on the shelves in any other country other than the US. Then when you do see them, it’s the blaster no one in the states wanted to buy. Leaving potential customers requiring to buy them off re-sellers for ridiculous markups. Never seen a Kronos in the store but they’re always online for $70 or a Saturn for $120.
I actually want a decent nerf vulcan, never owned one mainly because everyone says there a bit crap but I've always liked the look of them. I would probably buy an up to date remake of it. Just have to hope the New retro line doesn't go the way of nerf icons.

My first nerf gun was the SuperMAXX 3000 (yellow). It internally broke not long after I got it and, for some reason, I want it back.
Three hopefuls for me....the Secret Shot, I want a new one. I loved that blaster, I loved the shell, I loved all of it.
