Many of these bot farms seemingly have not been banned for months. On the other hand, are some of them just dedicated Venezuelan gold farmers? In 2019, it seems like the OldSchool team would have banned most of these accounts by now. I was lucky to be able to PK the cosmic rune collecting bots.

Bot farms I have seen today: Shilo Village gem rocks, Seers rooftop agility, buckets of sand/soda ash from charter crew members, and a few others. These ones are unbelievably obvious though, bunch of dudes with 80 mining using mith/iron pickaxes and only the stats to complete Shilo Village, lvl-3s at seers with no graceful and 75+ agility, shit's outta hand. My bot farms never used to last that long back in the day. Jagex is slippin.
jagex doesnt care about bots. Bots need bonds to be member bonds are bought from jagex. Jagex makes tons of money from bonds. I bet if people didnt bot jagex would go bankrupt

@@haloownds how clueless are you to think that people who run botfarms buy bonds lmao, they make a full year worth of bonds in a day of botting. not too mention these people sell their gold to other players so Jagex makes less money overall because if it werren't for gold sellers they'd have to buy their gp through bonds.

I love that you’re bringing light to how bad OSRS is overrun with bots. You’re doing gods work, work that should be already done by Jagex.
@72 degree pyramid technology Suppressed patents bots do methods to make money quickly from items that have a high demand. If you ban them then the cost of those items will go up like you said.
But that also means that people will be more willing to do those money making methods because 1. there will be more availability of the spots and 2. the items will be worth more and the gp/hr will be better. If you look at poro poro, the eclectic implings that they camp only have 3 autospawn spots on each world, which each are usually camped by bots. If the bot is good and detects the impling then instantly clicks on it, they will catch it if they have better ping that you, regardless of how fast your click. About a year ago, eclectics were worth maybe 7k-9k. But literally in the last 3 months the price has bombed down to 3.5k~ due to the bots providing and extremely high supply while fulfilling the demand.
This also means that they are making money for pking as well as creating supplies for the demand. Things will balance out.
Also just because you find runescape boring, doesn't mean that it is boring. I have over 1600 total level on my main account from mostly skilling and I love every second of the grind. I don't mind catching my own eclectics for medium clues or making my own cannonballs out of iron and coal. It saves me mills upon mills for the slayer grind.

Back in the pre eoc days when dragon bones were 6k each I use to do that shit all day, but now nobody wants to kill dragons for 300k an hour when you could be making mils elsewhere. It's gonna really be bad when we see high level rev bots that camp the revs by 30s and just instateleport when they see a skull.

@@KeepRespondingWithYourLove my man here knows how economics works. even for bossing less supplies = less drops coming into game = higher drop values bots literally have very small influence on the market. Also real world trading would easily take over the place of bots tbh. the more the value goes up the more willing Venezuelans or other people who make a living off this game will be to farm the materials.
"Work that should be already done by Jagex" listen man.... idk if you know how most mmo's work but ALL OF THEM have some sorts of bots to make money to sell to the current lazy player base. It is not a simple fix as hey press one button and all the bots are eradicated, there is not 1 algorithm that will just automatically detect every single type of bot in a games system, also there is not one simple solution for it. In terms or providing bot halting solutions runescapes probably on the forefront compared to any other company because their currency is steadily being sold compared to other games.
If there is money to be made, people can and will find a way around security systems to make a profit. The people who complain about it as well hey you have an option, play as a fucking ironman and you'll never have to worry about that because you'll have to gather the materials for yourself.
But people won't actually do that because they're lazy. Don't just sit on your pedestal and go around saying jagex should have done something about this already or they're not doing anything about it.. it's a fucking stupid statement made by fucking stupid people who don't understand how hard security really is, especially for older games.

in the stronghold of security there are thousands of bots in addy armour with rune scimmys and they kill flesh crawlers on almost every world.. im not sure why but if you stay long enough you'll notice the bot says random numbers lol..

It ia not too long ago a mod was rwt. Jagex employees half the time were big time scripters and botters. They leak the way to get pass the system and cash in. Theyve been doing this for years

Mod Weath is a dedicated full time member of staff doing what he's doing. Jagex bans 1000's of bots on a weekly basis. It's just so easy to constantly create new accounts that it is impossible to keep up with them.
Of course this does not excuse the Puro-puro, pyramid plunder or Cannonball bots, and more work needs to be done on detecting them.
I'm just trying to give jagex some credit for at least trying to combat a problem that is nearly impossible to beat without changing the easy with which these bots are injected into the game
most email hosting servers have better spam detection than Jagex has at striking out bots.

1 strike for having randomly generated name.
1 strike for only partaking in 1 activity in game EVER
1 strike for repetitive movements over hundreds of hours.
1 strike for default character look
list goes on for all the noticeable bot like actions
simply have a system where if you get too many strikes the system just bans you.

Is Jagex waiting for the game to die before getting on top of this shit? I don't understand how it's possible these bots can completely randomly generate names and perform the same actions for hours upon hours straight and not get instantly banned.
Banning them is obviously not enough, I don't want them banned, they'll be back in an hour. I want it to be much harder to create accounts in rapid succession - random captchas, username flagging, chat monitoring. There are dice bots at the GE in every single world spamming the same message format every single day for hours. The playercount is being inflated and the market is being pumped with botted stuff.
Obviously botting can't be stopped, but there should be no circumstances where bots can accumulate 20-50m exp in a skill without getting caught.

Requiring email validation would be one option. As it stands right now you actually don't need to validate an email address in order to log in.
You need to understand that to a human eye bots look obvious. These bots do not look so obvious to the game itself. They are specifically developed to evade detection and look as human as possible.

honestly so many of these bot farms are world specific, one staff member could spend 30 minutes to an hour a day running around to all of these farms and banning them. that alone would shut it down.
They don't want to ban bots for real lol, only bots they ban are the ones easily noticed to try and keep the problem off the charts

Furbyloot4 I’ve often thought what the legitimate number of actual human players is on the game. Once you take away bots and players alt accounts I bet the number of actual humans playing the game is half of what the player count is.... Bots are not helping the situation of PVM being the only decent way to make money now, especially for med level player like myself.

All Jagex needs to do to fix this bot farm in the Wilderness is set it to alert when a certain number of players are within a certain number of squares of each other. This will allow them to see these stacks of emblem farmers. Easy solution.
Love the vids. Coming from a RS3 player. We have our problems, but bots to this extent are one of the things keeping me from making an OS alt.

I don't actively seek out bots but one time during the Fremmy Isles quest, I was at a shop in Jatizso and I noticed a bunch of players (all like, late-30 combat) w bot-like names all buying the shop out of stock and I knew there was something fishy going on.
Jagex needs to invest into changing the engine and actually making this game better than just a click based game,make it an actually skillfull game
The only reason bots exist is the simple fact that the game is way to easy to manipulate,it was made back ages ago,osrs being a port from 007 still being the click based game that it is needs to be changed,they could change the entirety of the game itself but still keep the grind,selling,quests everything the same Hell they could use unreal engine and there wouldn’t be a way possible for scripts to be made.For instance you can’t not a game that isn’t click based and requires the player to actually play.

There's a bot farm that runs clay in lumbridge on pvp worlds. They run from the bank chest to the fountain to wet the clay making soft clay, a construction material worth slightly more money. Also, the bots in seers village are cutting planks by sending the butler to the sawmill, that's what they need 50 construction for. There's a bunch of other bot farms too, you can pm Pavri ingame if you want to know more.

The low level Camelot bots with 50 con are making Planks with a Damon Butler.
Been doing Pyramid Plunder on W333 for Thieving pet, I constantly run into bots doing it that have 20-30m+ thieving xp and never get banned. I always report em, but there could be tons on em on many other worlds going for just as long. They probably only average 80-100k xp an hour after 99, so they still get in hundreds of hours of botting post-99 before the system finds em.
I’ve been playing RS on and off for over 14 years. I recently came back and played for about a year and stopped playing again about 3-4 months ago. This videos are by far the most interesting runescape content in my opinion. Its fascinating to me how far runescape has come and it’s still so much underworld stuff like bots and shit going on.

I wonder if the bot epidemic have such a strong hold on the RS economy that Jagex are nervous about crashing it completely. I mean look at what happened to the emblems. a few months ago there were many bots ranging minators in F2P worlds, if you would say "ha ha" in chat all the bots would instantly reply with "what's so funny?" sometimes you had up to 10 bots in each world, it was pretty funny.

Yea it’s because auto clicker clicks same pixel locations nonstop billions of times. The bots seen in the video probably have a programmed “randomness” of where they click (probably one out of six pixels) or something like that. So you failed by using an auto clicker instead of a macro. There’s a big difference. And also, potentially could depend on politics at jagged right now too, didn’t they just fire someone a few months ago??
And I got permed for auto clicking 99 melees in NMZ lmao. Makes sense I was ruining the game for everyone huh
Might have been said before, but Blast Furnace is chalk full of bots smelting iron bars. Interestingly, the price for iron bars recently dropped really quick, and all the bots started smelting Mithril bars.
Have discovered a few astral runecrafting bot farms. Appears to be a "main" account which all the bots follow one tick apart, action for action. They meet at the lunar isle bank, all follow the "main" account, and then craft the essence and teleport, a tick or two apart.
Great video, jagex need to step up an hired something like battle eye or smth to stop this.
Jager should give prizes to people who find and report a ton of bots.

The group of bots that trigger me the most are the ones at draynor village thieving master farmers, they're usually always level 3 with 30m+ xp and the worst part is they usually always have a pet following them around.
my favorite bot farm area is the Wilderness Valcano, there are hundreds if not thousands of unarmed defenseless bots farming cursed energy in droves. Cursed energy isn't the best moneymaker in the world, but as far as freeplay areas go it's not half bad if you dont want to risk a heavy dive into the wildy.

This is so dumb these obvious bots run around and they seemingly can't detect it, meanwhile years ago when I played I got banned for a week or something for "botting" when I was literally alching manually without even macros like a sucker and watching a movie on the side.
Somehow they can "detect" some dude pressing three simple keys for an hour or so occasionally on an obvious main acc with normal and natural progression but these bots doing the same shit 24/7 is not obvious.

In RS3 there is a Botting ring that cycles around the Loadstone in Wilderness, runs up through Greater Demons, collecting essence, and then looping back around and dying to a high lvl account, I was jumped by the account because I chased the bot from the wilderness loadstone all the way through the volcano and made it to the meeting point.
I find it weird how rs3 seemingly has a more advanced bot detection algorithm. Remember the bot nukes were the reason wildy and unlimited trade could return. So I do hope that osrs also make use of this or have their bot detection based in this. I see no reason why people wouldn't bot on RS3 but you only see them once in a blue moon.
Everytime you post a video it feels like more bots are made b/c people realize that Jagex does nothing against them until it is too late! Love seeing your passion against these bot farms but the more I see this the more I realize quiting this game was the right choice

This could be argued. Say if bots got banned 10% more often, just a bit more but not enough to discourage botters, then they would be making more money. So i guess its like a bell curve to find the sweet spot of effective banning.
Bots pay for their membership with in game currency, they make nothing from it.

The Camelot spot: that's a long standing one. In fact, as long as bots exist that's the only place that will forever be covered. Look, lets say you are making tele tabs, thats the place, lets say you are doing chaos alter, they bank there. look at almost anything, and they do it there. It's like prif for bots. If any trading will happen between 2 bots, its there. Watch a few more hours. No joke, that's like the hub of low profit centralized bot farming. That's why there is so much variation there.

- Chaos Druids and Blue Dragons in the Taverley Dungeon
Blue dragons make sense, but a lot of people forget about the Chaos Druids. You'll usually find a few bots all wearing full mithril and stabbing with a mithril or addy scimitar.
- Lumbridge rats
Yeah, believe it or not a lot of bots train magic here. I used to think the people training just started training magic and I'd bet a lot of us do, but there's no reason a person with 60 magic should be splashing for xp.
- Shilo Gem rocks
If the iron and mithril pickaxes didn't give it away, the 80+ mining in conjunction with that should.

The amount of bots on the upper level is crazy. Seeing as you can get addy and rune ore, I'm more surprised that some bots still world hop the rune ore outside in the mining guild.
The reason why the first bot had 68 agility means he was there for so long that the shortcut leveled him up.

Found a small bot farm at the ore shop on Jatiszo. The ores at this shop are sold for cheap. Iron costs 20gp but sells for 85gp on the Grand Exchange. Coal costs 49gp and sells for 135gp. And the requirements are extremely low. These bots only had 235 total level.

There's a bot farm at the chaos altar near the wilderness ditch. They are all telegrabbing the wines then walking out of the temple and drinking a potion then logging out and logging back in a few seconds later to grab the wine again and repeat. When their inventory fills they teleport to falador, bank, and walk back up to start over again.
I caught a bot farm on Jatizo running from the ore shop to the bank and back. You can shut the door on them to mess with them, but it gets stuck open as an anti-abuse measure after a while.
Those bots in cammy are making planks. That would explain the 50 construction.
I have not been paying attention to whether people might be bots or not, but now I'll be paying more attention.

There are still tons of bots runecrafting at the abyss. I’ve been seeing bots around lvl 50 wearing Adamant platebodies in every world.
In regards to the F2P zammy wine bots: if they hop when you log in, just wait. They will log in again in a few seconds in the exact same spot, but have your mouse trained on that spot as they log out very fast.

I made 2.5 mil the other day selling wines but would have been able to make more if it weren’t for the damn bots and competition on f2p.
I just started my mobile free week and rarely any competition. I’m going to have full gilded either before my week is done or soon after.
The bots teleing to the bank in PvP cammy are usually making planks, and the bots making cannonballs arn't really injecting gold into the game as they're refining existing steel bars into cannonballs that will be used on slayer and such by players.
I got a cannon ball alt thats always smithing when I'm on my main, sure hope it doesn't get banned after this vid.
They’re more worried about bot farms at Zulrah and locations like that. I was running two accounts to farm zulrah for anywhere between 6 to 8 hours a day and they’d log out as soon as supplies ran out or the 2 hour log timer I set came up. Made loads of gp but both did eventually get banned. They don’t care much about these bots there’s people making so much you couldn’t imagine it botting things worth while.. and on accounts you wouldn’t believe. One of my zulrah bots was a lvl 124
used to play runescape long ago. im almost elated to see the same problems still exist.

So one bot farm I've noticed that /has/ gotten banned are magic tree farmers at the spot just south of Seers/East of Ranger guild. I haven't checked to see if they've moved on to pvp worlds, but they were present en masse for about a month and have mysteriously all disappeared overnight a couple days ago.

I think a lot players underestimate how much of the population are actually bots, even while they bot themselves.
okay, so i spend a bit of time in Tai Bwo Wannai cutting jungle for gout tubers, and ive noticed bots running from Tiadeche's fishing shop and back to Rionasta. i can only figure theyre buying karambwan and sending it to their bank boxes via parcel and then selling them on the ge. there seems to be about ten bots with similar names, all in adamant or mith armor. i only hopped a few worlds to see where they were, but theyre there.

jamflex is allowing bots to remain in game as they would rather devote mods time to making new content each month and UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE. i would like to thank you for pointing out these bot farms that jamflex is purposely doing nothing about and allowing to remain in the game. i too have noticed massive numbers of bots in various locations and taking photos. thanks again for publicly pointing it out and keep up the honest outlook on the game and the habits of jamflex.
The teleporting ones at PVP worlds are making teleport tabs, as the lecterns require about that construction level.

Kurasks are a HUGE bot spot. people wearing dragon armor all with random letter and number names. Check them out.
I spoke to a game designer and asked about his stance on RWT and this is his response: "the thing with RWT is that people that pay others for items gives them more incentives to keep playing the game after spending money on the game and people that make money on the game keep playing the game. While it's somewhat policed it isn't very enforced since the longer play time and high player base for the length of the game's released e.g. How Ark is 4 years old but still has a large player base, the game gains a reputation for producers when they pitch their games through statistics. But you have to ban some people to show that the company is somewhat against the use of RWT but love the fact that people will spend money to keep playing their games." I don't have any physical proof of this as this was a verbal conversation with someone that's not that famous in the gaming community but is known by a few companies so I'm not going to call him out on it as he is a genuine nice guy.
