Love the video mate! Always lovely to see a fellow Australian do a pro and cons video on the R34. I'm wanting to buy on these coming months but the only thing that's holding me back is the fear of it getting stolen since i don't have a garage but just a driveway.
I've converted my R34 4Door from auto to a 5 speed out of a 2 door coupe, it can be done all components are direct bolt in you will need the coupe tail shaft as the auto one is longer off memory I also just jumped the wiring plug that goes to the auto trans so I could jump pins to get the Neutral Switch (so it can Be started) and the reverse switch wire for the reverse sensor so I can have reverse lights. even the R letter on the cluster still lights up when I select reverse and still get that reverse beeping noise.
Good video mate, looking at an identical model tomorrow and you've gotten me much more keen to put the money on the table. Heres hoping shes in good nick
@@takumi_boi726 We all do bro. I'm working 10+ hour days everyday and literally saving every dollar I possibly can. I will have a nice manual R34 if it fucking kills me lol. $12,000 saved so far, pretty much half way there. Dream on bro. Make it come true.
@@takumi_boi726 Depends what you get. There are N/A, Turbo and GTR's. A manual N/A in decent condition is $20-30k (Australian $) . Turbo is $25-35k (roughly) and the GTR's go for like $250k+ This all depends on mileage, series, condition, whether it's a sedan/coupe, its colour, transmition, etc. But that's a general. They aren't dropping much in price ever though, only seem to appreciate over time.
Great video mate! I'm thinking about picking one of these up and you touched on pretty much everything I wanted to know before buying one. And yeah, the thieves is probably the thing that puts me off wanting one the most, but hey, I'm not gonna not own one of my dream cars because it *might* get stolen.

Great video! You touch on a lot of useful stuff. I'm considering importing a 25GT-V to Sweden, but I'm not sure it's worth the money/hassle compared to the local alternatives. I guess it comes down to how cheap I can find one. Cheers
Recently I moved to Tokyo and I'm on the search for a nice and fun car to own here. One car that's cheap and easy to find is the R34 4 door, RB25DE, but I'm afraid of lacking any power without turbo. Back in my home country I have a S15 Spec R 400 something HP, and it's a beast. So, would you recommend this car? Also, how's the 4wd version? Able to drift it?
That S15 sounds sick bro! As for a skyline in Tokyo, I’ve never been there myself, but I’ve heard that parking larger cars can be tricky if you’re constantly in the city. The NA skyline isn’t overwhelming powerful. It’s enough to be fun though for sure. It’s the sublime handling that makes it super fun. I’ve never driven a 4wd version, and have never seen one drifted. I’d say a GT-T is what you’d be after for that mix of good power and drifting ability.

Hey buddy, thanks for the great video. I'm planning to inspect an r34 that looks just like your one. I'm a careful and cautious driver, don't plan to race or anything but I was wondering if you have any regrets for not getting a 5 sp manual version instead of the 4sp auto. The car I'm looking at is a 4sp auto and I'm planning to use it as a daily. Do you think a 4 sp auto is more than enough? Cheers
I certainly don’t have any regrets. Out of all the cars I’ve owned, this would probably have to be my favourite. And hey, can always do a manual swap if you ever get bored of it. All the best with it!
ive been R34 mad since it came out, i always wanted a R34 GT-T 2door manual, but i cant see myself owning one now, the cars are 20ish years old, the parts are going to be impossible to get, rust is also a big problem on a car this old

@@jayzceegraham yeah you see the thing, is i can barely afford the $12000 for the car, borrow the money from the bank and paying it off per month. Depends a lot on where your shipping to. If your importing you also gave to consider local compliance costs as well as brokers fee.
