  • Former Footballer Nilesh Pandit is confident that his 5-a-side Football Pitch business will attract investment from The Dragons, until Deborah Meaden spots a worrying inconsistency with his numbers. Can Nilesh convince The Dragons that his tax avoidance is a thing of the past?
An international sensation, Dragon's Den features entrepreneurs pitching for investment in the Den from our Dragons, five venture capitalists willing to invest their own money in exchange for equity.

@mr red It's not a lie to keep information that makes you look bad private and it's never considered good business NOT to do this. He should have simply said that the money was legally invested in property connected to his family who have no involvement in his personal business and that would have been fine. What he should not have done was tell the dragons that the money in the form of owed-tax has been reclaimed by a government corporation due to his own dishonesty. He absolutely did not learn his lesson. He never explained the exact reason for the fine, he played the victim after the meeting: “I’m still being punished for a mistake... a million, million years ago...” no - he’s being punished for not being transparent or honest; “they fail to realize I lost everything and came back,” they aren’t failing anything, he never gave them that information.
He’s way too cocky - and the “better” version with Peter was fake, in my opinion - his actual personality is the cocksure, argumentative, disrespectful version.
He’ll probably be a big success because you don’t have to be a honest, trustworthy or even likeable person to succeed in business - in fact, “better” qualities can be seen as weakness by some people.
It’s a good plan that I think a lot of people would enjoy and benefit from, so I hope it is successful - but I wish someone more deserving had come up with it.

They didn’t annex him because of his mistake - Peter made that abundantly clear. They annexed him for trying to get away with keeping that mistake a secret. He wasn’t being dishonest until Debora made it clear there was something to be revealed. She knew that money had gone somewhere and no amount of “forgetfulness” would be truth enough for that amount of money going missing. Even after 4 dragons and Jenny gave him clear and concise reasons as to why they couldn’t (not wouldn’t) invest, which had nothing to do with his initial mistake, he still didn’t hear it, and he still twisted the truth as he heard it and said he was penalised for a mistake. Uninvestable.
